Perform on stage with 50-100+ subscribers!
You got first!!! I wonder why?
Make some music with Tim Henson
CharlesBerthoud how bout 500k a contest to have a collab with you on a song on your next album?? I would love that!
So happy for you.
Beautiful surprise that you wanted me be here again!! Really impressive how you did that arrangement to my stuff!! I FEEL REALLY HAPPY, THANKS CHARLES, AMAZING AS ALWAYS.. 🎶😃
Really liked your composition!
your song gave me chills.
Your set was great!
Thanks, it's a really nice composition!
I know who am I subscribing to next
“Extra Casual” absolutely approved! 😂
Thank you so much Charles, i’m so honored you jammed and reacted over my video! ❤️🙏
That was awesome 👏
You were sick dude
Thanks so much for your solo, so casual but awesome 😂
Awesome slap
Your tune is cool & groovy
Charles, thank you very much for reacting to and jamming along to my strumming! I'm very honored.
FRICK YEAHHHHH
I agree with Charles: your technique is amazing.
You were pretty amazing

HEY BESTIE HEY
OMG! Thank you so much for playing on our tune; amazing bass solo!
Thanks for another awesome/hilarious video!
The international guitar sound reminded me of Khruangbin. 👍
hrvatski dres na mikrofonu xd
@@ramzesrama8391 I'm half Italian and Half croatian. That's Suker t shirt!
Your song was amazing
So many different songs in different styles giving me all sorts of different emotions! These were some very awesome collaborations.
Thanks!
Dude I had no idea you watched Charles too, that's dope!
Agreed, very enjoyable to watch and listen to!
@@cygnustsp I was talking about Cantersoft, I didn't know he watched Charlie boy
@@Burning.Bridgesss i was agreeing with Cantersoft
Charles is such a great guy. He just added enough to showcase the other musician without overtaking. One of my favorite videos.
Agreed 💯💯💯
One of the many reasons I love Charles shows through in this video. He adds his accompaniment but lets the original artist’s talent take the spot light. Very humble.
He really sat back during the Loop Connection piece, and I thought that made it work really well. In fact, during my first listen, it took me awhile to even notice Charles was playing, so I watched more closely the next time(s): he gave them a lot of space, filling in perfectly when he chose.
I still don’t understand how this guy is the best bassist I’ve seen and he is only at 400k
Don’t tell davie but I think Charles is better imo
Edit: I’m not saying that davie is bad, lmao.
Because Davie504
But im subscribed to charles and not to davie hahaha
Titanium, go google Bass Memes. Then you'll understand. :)
@@ccliviolin I've always wanted to say this but I was afraid Davie would send FBI to my home.
Thx so much Charles! I am so happy to see you play on this little peace of music, your bass line is awesome)) you give me the power to make some more musics like this 😃
You're amazing)
Thanks, your piece was so nice and calming 😊
I found this collaboration the best. Such an amazing and haunting tune(something like the Opeth Damnation album sound but totally unique in itself). Can't help myself when I play it on loop. Keep up the good work 😁
Oh and Charles I think you are the best bassist out there without a doubt. So happy to have found and subscribed to your channel. Love from India 🙏🏻😁
@@CharlesBerthoud hope you read this comment 😁😁
@@ShikharChandan thank you so much for your comment and support) you give me a lot of energy)
@@akcel6408 and you made my day by replying back. Have a nice day and life ahead. Please keep making amazing music like this. Cheers bro. P.S. - Listening to your piece again after this notification popped up 😂
Holy crap.. I would pay to hear an extended version of the composition between you and Laytar. If we could get that, and have it put on Spotify, that would be the highlight of 2020.
i 2nd that.
I 3rd that.
4th that..
5th that
6th that
3:24 sounds like
"Select your character"
from any fighting game.
You are also finding your own style with your characters in your videos. Its humorous but enchanting as well with your skill. This is my humble and honest opinion.
Can't stop watching this. Yours and Laytar is just hair raising. It's tragic, sad, emotional and beautiful.
Charles mentions Laytar's music as being melancholic, so I instantly investigate. I guess I still have a goth side. This was an excellent collaboration.
😈 welcome back to the darkness..
@@Laytar Plays like that AND rocks Kiss Hello Kitty, got a sub from me! 👍
@@Laytar nice tapping in this video, it makes me want to get better/learn how to tap
charles is low key goth in his youth I could sense it LOL
@@Laytar Very good! 🥰
Please keep doing collabs forever. I kept saying "wow" out loud, especially during Laytar's and Ackel's pieces. Beautiful on their own, but elevated with bass. Great job!
It's really great to see that he found his own style of his videos and present his music better
Congrats on 400k! I wish you only the best, and great to see you showcasing talent across the platforms!
Thanks so much for your support!
@@CharlesBerthoud I thank you for your talent and hard work! Always happy to watch!
4:57 this is f.cking genius! 😯
Thanks so much) for that you are welcome to my channel) 😉
@@akcel6408 😄
The one with Loop Connection is amazing, my favourite I guess ! I had the impression to be in a crazier version of a Marcus Miller song. You guys nailed it
4:19 This is why bass is needed in guitars... loved it,.
Approved!) for that you are welcome to my channel
That laytar part was fantastic. It's like listening to Philip glass's piece
The first dude. I can't believe i just heard an awesome ukulele solo..... I thought ukulele was a casual instrument but holy shit that was fire
I think what makes this video so special is how your bass parts are not overwhelming and how they compliment the other musicians composing but still give them their importance. Many Guitarists often try to only make their louder than their partners and keep playing annoying things even when the music stops
Amazing compositions and Charles complemented them majestically while still maintaining his character. The duo sounded like it was always meant to be like this. Great collab!
What I love about your style of playing is, that you are able to play something that's fit the song style. Not many musicians are able to do that nowadays. Espacially studio musicians lack of being able to step back from time to time to let song room to grow.
Good job.
I've seen a couple of people try to keep up with Laytar... your the first that I've seen that actually compliments her rather than trying to copy her. Thank you.
I'm really sorry to break it to you guys over here, but I can't keep it in anymore. This guy is the best bassist on UA-cam today. Keep it up, Charles. Cheers from India!
Davie's content is begining to wear me out a bit as much as I like him
@@berenmccormack8767, Davie504 has become very predictable with his videos. He needs to break away from his current format.
Charles on the other hand is trying new things. And the most important thing he is doing is that he is collaborating with his fans. So people feel like that they are a part of the community, and not some bonded-labourers whose job is to slap like.
No offence to any of Davie's fans though. This is my very personal opinion.
@@aj_hammy Very true.....I'm Indian too btw
@@rubenemmanuel3767, hey brother. How's the quarantine life? Hope all is well.
@@aj_hammy Charles' channel is inspirational- while showing new avenues to explore.
7:31 - Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeectum
That palindromic dream (Akcel Guitarwork) was devine at 4:20. If that tune was stretched out and expanded upon to make an album, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
It was great, wasn't it?
Here is a musician taking the "music connects people" to action, going beyond its poetry 👏👏👏 it's not the first time, and I hope it's not the last. It's lovely to see such a talent to share and to connect to others. It gets even more emotional in this pandemic times 💛 thanks
Charles the duet that you did with Laytar was really awesome would love to hear more of that. Thank you to all those talented people out there who shared their love of music with us.
The war is over neither part of the enemy party responded. Bass has won.
Well, Herman Li responded live on twitch to Through the Fire and Tap.
@@FilthAzura ah what did he say? I don't use twitch unfortunately..
@@MrZombs123 he said that it was a sick tapping skill
@@SamuraiFull7 🤘😎 thanks!
@@MrZombs123 I'll give some excerpts (try to read them in Herman Li's voice :D):
Hey, that was sick bass playing, that was super sick! I love it, that was awesome!
He should be in a boy band. He's a bit too good looking to be doing this trolling stuff.
Look, at the end of the day, this is really just for Davie504. He's not defending Davie504. He's is actually completely trolling Davie504 to show that he can play better than Davie504. So let's not get confused on what the situation here is. It's not about me, it's not about "The Dooo" , it's not about any of us. It's about Davie504. He's got beef with Davie504. He's trying to show: "Look, I've seen Davie504 play Through the Fire and Flames. I'm just gonna destroy him on it!"
VIVA MEXICO!!! at least one Woman playing cool from there and the best of all Charles collaborating with her, nice song and nice duet, do another please, I am a very big fan from both of you.
Approved! 💖
That Loop Connection collab kicks! Their composition was awesomme, and the bass line you put in was exactly what it needed, I want an extended dance mix of that action.
The way that bass complete the sound of any other instruments... It's completely amazing.
It's absolutely the best instrument.
There are two types of people in Davie/Charles ’s channel:
1.Actually play bass or guitar and also talented
2.Can’t play a shit but watch their video just for fun
I "play" guitar but I suck
There are two types of people in the world. These, who divide people into two groups, and these who don't.
uhh..
# 3 There are also people musician and non musician who appreciate great musicianship.
@@giuseppe4870 i was gonna say, me too lol. I can play rush chord progressions and a little smashing pumpkins.
Charles creativity it just at another level.. Still cant believe it because his already makes so much pieces and still going till now. What a great musician!!
a virtuoso knows when it is time to shine and time to serve the song.... You sir Charles, are a virtuoso. I enjoyed hearing you play solid grooves which serve the song. Thank you for letting these players shine!
Stop making everything sound amazing! It makes me smile for no reason
I really liked Laytar's and Akcel's composition!
Thanks 🎸🎶
Thanks so much) for that you are welcome to my channel 😉
Love the collabs, especially with Laytar! That was awesome.
1:30-2:30 probably listened this looping for an hour. Why isn't this a song? WHY, SUCH PEACEFULL, MUCH EMOTION, WOW! PLEASE make a song out of it with Laytar
1:32 was just beautiful 👍❤️
The collab with Laytar gives me goosebumps as if the song had a tragic story behind it...
Laytar's and Akcel's made me having goosebumps...One thing I really love this youtube bass community is that so many brilliant players exist and they have so many damn incredibly amazing collaborations!
Thanks so much for your comment) you are welcome to my channel)
Duet with Casual Slap BASS is really awesome!!! Thank you so much for these videos.
Okay. #2 is just amazing. I got chills. If you two released an album like that, I'd buy it in an instant, because damn, that knocked it out of the park, and then some. The key used, the melody, the blend with the bass, it was just brilliant. I want more from you two!
Okay, Loop Connection is also damn good. :)
It takes a lot of skill and conditioning to play as well as you Charles. You are on a different level. This is coming from a shredder on the Guitar. You're like a brilliant Pianist when you're working. Bravo!!!!!
Don 84 he started on classical piano
Okay, now you have to make it a full composition and post it on spotify so I can hear it over and over again. You're amazing, thanks for the videos.
If you and Laytar keep doing music like this you’ll be over a million views in no time. Honestly I love watching you guys play.
That major lift and minor fall! I love it with the classical spots that connect like dimensional bridges
Laytar has quickly become one of my favorites
Charles I know you're not the type to do bass lessons but a lesson on your incredible tap technique would be amazing. Thanks love from India
check out the book on tapping called tapestry, he talks about it and another book in a very early video
He already produced a book and DVD on the subject: www.charlesberthoud.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html#!/Two-Handed-Tapping-by-Charles-Berthoud-and-Jim-Stinnett/p/51116825/category=0
Latin mode at 6:12 had me in bits, love it!
what i like with Charles is that he appreciates other musicians regardless of what instrument or style they're using. I can definitely hear that in the way he goes in the music. very nice and talented 👌👌
4:19 genial and elegant
1:30 genial and mindblowing
Your words are touching me 💖
@@akcel6408 why you make it hard for me to play your part??
@@diegoluca45 you would like to play it? need a tuto?
Why’re they all so talented? Like really these are all so amazing
The answer to that is that they practiced, practice is actually the key :)
All are absolutely awesome!! I can hear an instant album in the makings! My favorite is the collaboration with Pier Piras. Now that's some real catchy notes!!🎶
Freakin Charles - Laytar duets are so awesome. LOVE the mood of that stuff.
Great job, everybody

Thank you for the beautiful music
Really glad you made that 5ver video what seems like forever ago and ended up battling Davie. It’s given me another awesome music UA-camr watch! (Also more BASS videos to love!)
That guitar and piccolo bass solo was... So Beautiful
5:35 - is a wonderful groove.
You and Laytar have gotta make more music. That was amazing
I don't play the bass but I love your channel, I just love watching someone who's put in the effort to get really good at their instrument!

You should duet with Laytar forever. Goosebumps.
That 2nd jam was just so beautiful. Definitely that subscription during that session. Congratulations!!
Sho goes to my school and he's so incredibly talanted!
Congrats on 400k and all pieces sounded fab! 👍👍
I like that you complimented each composition without outshining its beauty. So tasteful!
Dear Charles, please do a Duo with Laytar! Not only a battle! You are both such amazing artists and don´t need competition anymore... you both know about using your instruments on a high level. I think, you both could work out a very special sound because it is obviously clear that your work is on a very special level. I´m just a bloody cellist but for me, that I follow you both for longer times, there are musically much accordance in searching of a new but also traditional sound. You realy should do a piece together!

Loop connection with the sonic riders babylon garden vibes
That Loop Connection jam was sick yo
Laytar is an amazing composer. You two always make beautiful music together.
Love your videos Charles. Truly inspiring. Even more, I like the community and channel you are developing. Keep it all coming. I think you are one of the best bass players around. Thanks to Davie504 for introducing me to your stuff!
As much as I enjoy Davie's channel with all the memes and battles, I think for actual music I like your channel more. And I don't even play bass nor want to learn it. :D Keep up the good work!
love all of these but i really must admit Laytar and Charles....no words, just pure joy listening. 🥰 thanks to Charles i found Laytar's channel and subscribed.
I have to admit Charles is really good at making the other musicians shine and doesn’t take all the light for himself
Congratulations for 400k!!! I think 400k is way too less, you deserve more❤️❤️❤️
Hey man just wanted to tell you that you are really amazing and im so happy i found you through davie because your music is so awesome and unique
The third one (casual) needs to on spotify late nite jazz
The track from loop connection was super unexpected and very enjoyable. And the one from Laytar was beautiful.

That tapping duet with Laytar was incredible... please do more...! :D
I need more "Extra Casual" BB King Charles.
This was so great love the fact you get so involved with your fans..and as always your bass playing is too impressive..I totally have to get in on one of these videos! Just got crud for recording equipment 😂
you should consider making a full album with all these talents!
Really like you duets. Nice fitting in on number 3. 4 is lovely, melodic and you blended well yet each voice was distinct. Loop connection was a lot of fun.
Glad that you enjoyed)😉
I liked them all, except for Loop Connection. It was fun, just didn't like their choice in sound
Charles, I sincerely pray that there comes a time when bass battle means Charles berthoud and people fear and love you too. Let them be afraid of how much they love you.
That Laytar collab' was sick.
👍🏻 still can't believe it, Charles is a magic bassist he can play everything with everyone!!
Damn, The Akcel piece is the most beautiful thing I've heard in a long time.
I will watch any video you do with Laytar. We need more of you two collaborating!
