They kept to themselves so well that all we really know is they play kick ass rock with the perfect cocky swaggy songs. Their drummer did a bunch of drugs but he was really the only one who struggled with it and he got right. What a cool band.
This is my favorite ZZ Top song. Dirty and nasty is exactly how to describe that riff, and the lyrics are fire. Remember when you were young and used to cash your check on Friday and you'd feel like Superman with a wad of cash in your pocket? You'd spend the whole weekend getting wild and chasing girls. Then, come Monday morning, you'd wake up with no money, no girl and only half a tank of gas and a stale bag of potato chips to get through the week. But, you know what, the next Friday you DID IT ALL OVER AGAIN!
Fantastic comments, thanks. There is an album called "RAW" which is a very good compilation of ZZ Top's early years, awesome. Some listeners in the seventies even thought they were black musicians.
Billy Gibbons was one of Jimi Hendrix’s favorite guitarists, Dusty Hill on bass recently passed and the drummer is Frank Beard , the only one without a beard.😂
@Harribeat - My favorite ZZtop song! Glad you are reacting. It's badass. I got to see them in the late 80's twice. Once with Sammy Hagar. Sammy even sang an old Montrose song, "Bad Motor Scooter". If you haven't heard of the song, please listen to it! Sammy in Montrose was Sammy at his best in my opinion!
Yes, that is a great show, 1980 at Rockpalast, that ongoing program from Germany is a treasure trove of great shows from many bands, 2 of my favorites are Golden Earring and UFO, both killer shows as those bands showed out back in the day. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶
Harris, I've seen z z. 7 times in Houston. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥. Billy gibbons the taller one. Played with Jimi Hendrix. When he started early on. Dusty Hill the shorter one on bass died last year. The drummer is frank beard. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
HIGH HARRI.... Great tune and reaction. I have been fortunate to have seen “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas” Live 4 times. I recorded the last show (Full HD) before Dusty passed away. Always an awesome show. You must see many other tunes from them including “Rough Boy” (official video)…. “Same three guys, same three cords, for five decades” - Billy Gibbons at last show.
It's hard to believe that a 3 man band could have so many hit songs. I saw them at the Memphis Coliseum, I think it was in the mid to late '80s. The night before the concert all their equipment was stolen and a music store in Memphis loaned them everything they needed. It was an awesome show.
My Home town boys here in Dallas. I was17 years old when this came out and everyone at High School was blasting this from their car and Truck stereo's in my case, here in Texas and it was fantastic. They are debatably one of the Best 3 piece bands ever in the world (the police was my other 80s favorite 3 piece band) this was the begining to their huge stardom in the 80's and one of the most Iconic band of the 80s.
Just stumbled upon your channel and completely enjoyed watching, and listening to you give much love and respect to that power trio! I've been to many shows, and trust me, the crowd never sits!
I love this rock music. Great music. I can also recommend the cover, played by Joe Bonamassa, live in th Royal Albert Hall. I'm sure you will enjoy that, too. 🎶🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸
1st band I ever saw live when they were still just that little old band from Texas. The reverend Billy G is a master fret slayer with the perfect rhythm section
3 badass dudes from texas! God bless dusty hill 😎😎😎👉 You should check them out when they played live on channel 4's The Tube... They DESTROYED the place!
"It's blues time ... I'm talkin' 'bout those $15.95 'Come See Me At Midnight' Stockings..." ZZ TOP - Fool For Your Stockings & Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings ua-cam.com/video/wT3Kh-GgMbU/v-deo.html & watch out for the Mac truck that is Dusty's bass on Nasty Dogs... lol RIP Dusty. Thank You!
it was a concert from Germany . i don't think they rocked as hard as the American audience. I was Lucky enough to see them live 3 different Eras in time The 80s ,the 90s, 2010`s
Harri, whether you can review it, or not. Please listen to Blue Jean Blues, from their album Fandango. I don't know if I am allowed, but I am going to, include a link. This is the longer version, as originally recorded. ua-cam.com/video/b76kjd5nvMg/v-deo.html. Your reactions are always cool to watch. We have a good idea of what you really think. Keep it up.
A german Music-magazine wrote about ZZ Top in 1980: "Punkrockers wear Razor-Blades, these guys are playing them."
Down home dirty Texas blues rock! ZZ and Stevie Ray know how it's done, it don't get much better y'all 🔥🤘✌
Remember seeing them in the early 80’s and they definitely gave you your moneys worth.
This entire concert is fantastic. This is the best era ZZ Top.
ERO

They kept to themselves so well that all we really know is they play kick ass rock with the perfect cocky swaggy songs. Their drummer did a bunch of drugs but he was really the only one who struggled with it and he got right. What a cool band.
I just realized that I have seen them in the 70s, 80s, 90s and in 2004. Sadly I haven't been to many concerts since about 2010.

ZZ Top is the only way to start a road trip!

My favorite ZZ Top song from my favorite ZZ Top album, Rio Grande Mud!
Nobody does the sliding guitar like Billy Gibbons. True master! 🤘🏼

They also have one of the most criminally underrated ballads of all time - Rough Boy
Great song.

First time hearing this song 🎼👏👏👏👏
Harri, I've been listening to these 3 guys, since the "early, mid-70's" ... Check out their album: "Tres Hombres"!!!
One of the best 3 man groups of all time along with Rush, Triumph, Cream and the Police
Excelent riff :)
You really need to check out “im bad im nationwide” one of the best basslines ever.
I love this rock music. Great music.
I can also recommend the cover, played by Joe Bonamassa, live in th Royal Albert Hall. I'm sure you will enjoy that, too. 🎶🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸
Another song of theirs, I bet you'd like = "Sharp Dressed Man"!!!

You just can’t beat vintage ZZ Top
Billy Gibbons did an episode at Daryl’s house. You should definitely check it out
it's all that
The only member of ZZ Top w/o a beard is the drummer. His name is Frank Beard.
it was a concert from Germany . i don't think they rocked as hard as the American audience. I was Lucky enough to see them live 3 different Eras in time The 80s ,the 90s, 2010`s
Great song. Stiff crowd
This is known as “Texas Blues”.
Bro, need to check “Blue Jeans Blues” and “El Diablo” too.
Nothing like a nasty riff.
“Waiting for the bus/Jesus just left Chicago “
You give a listen to Dire Straights and Def Leopard.
🔥
Did you know that Jimi Hendrix was a big fan of ZZ Top's guitarist, Billy Gibbons?
