You're having fun together, him eating his chosen last meal, you eating the hot wings, and desperately trying to redirect attention towards the other person and their life the entire time

My son and I met Karen 9 years ago TODAY! (As told to me by Facebook)
She had worked all night and got a late flight into Toronto because she didn't want to disappoint. She was an absolute delight. When she saw my son's costume (11th Doctor), she gasped and said OH!!! IT'S A TINY LITTLE DOCTOR!!! Which made him just light up!

Karen played my favorite Doctor Who companion. Her and Matt Smith were amazing.
I’m thankful for this show. I’m 26 and suffered a major career setback due to anxiety and have been spinning my wheels the past few months now that I’ve recovered. It’s always very comforting to hear people who’ve had so much success openly discuss the personal struggles they deal with but in a real setting.
I'm trying to get my anxiety sorted myself, don't give up!
I have had to admit that "fake it til you make it" works. Imposter syndrome is very real, even for the most intelligent people. So basically, you have to try to get out of your own head so much. I wish us all luck!

I'm gonna be 30 this year and have tried applying everywhere for the last year with little success after almost 10 years of relying on disability to survive. The one thing I got accepted for in that time was going to involve talking on the phone and I got through training only to realize I was too anxious to get up out of bed the first day and I had to quit. Now I'm going back to school to get a IT certificate so I have something to add to my resume.
That genuine response to "Are you happy?" made me happy for her

Yo! The section of the video that is, 'Public Speaking and Leaning into Anxiety' is INCREDIBLE. Josh literally calling her out on her negative inner self talk and her having a realization is deep and I feel that in my soul. Awesome interview. I continue to be amazed by Josh. I love Karen so much, she's such an amazing person. First saw her and fell in love with Amy Pond when I was 14 and kept up with what she's done ever since. If I had the chance to hang out and be friends with any celebrity in the world I would choose her no doubt. She deserves all the love and success she gets. ❤
This is hands down my favorite interview series. Josh is so good at making people comfortable and asks such interesting questions. It just feels really human and genuine. Karen seems like an absolute delight, as well.

I do a version of mince and tatties (I'm from Ireland), it's less like stew, more dry really, and with tonnes of butter on the spuds, and then I mix it all up on the plate. It doesn't look pretty, but it's my go to for when I need a hug.

Every time I see Karen in an interview she always seems like such a chill person. She seems like a ton of fun to hang out with.
I learned of haggis, bashed neeps and chappit tatties during my honeymoon in Scotland in 1998. They're totally delicious and enjoyable, I can understand why Karen sees them as comfort food and a good choice for a final meal.
You should try doughboys in stew. I'm Scottish and I love all this stuff but doughboys are just pure distilled comfort.

Best guest on Last Meals of all time, and yes I’ve watched everyone so I stand by this. Karen is and always will be my spirit animal since the Dr. Who era. Watching her throughout the years gives me not only comfort but confidence in a fellow anxiety ridden brain.
I just went to her husband's comedy show in Brooklyn, NOT knowing they were married, and when I went up to him to take a picture, I saw her behind him and said "Oh sorry I thought that was Karen Gillan" and he was like "Yeah, it is!" and I almost died on the spot. Got a picture with both of them (Separately). I had no expectations of randomly meeting Karen that night, it was absolutely wild.

As a Doctor Who and Marvel fan, I am soooooo excited about this episode! I watch every episode, but sometimes I don’t know who the guest is or don’t care about the guest. I feel like this is my episode. Did I mention I am also a redhead of Scottish descent? Love this episode!
I got SOOOO excited when I saw the thumbnail and this episode did not disappoint. These are always great (as is all the Mythical Kitchen content) but Josh teaching Karen what is actually in haggis is an absolute highlight.
Great segment guys! From the interview questions to the traditional Scottish / UK cuisine, this was for sure one to watch. Karen Gillan is a delight, from Jumanji to Guardians of the Galaxy. I've met her once when i lived in Inverness. very lovely and genuine person. i met her at Eden Court as she had a showing of her film Not Another Happy Ending. she had a bald head at the time from being Nebula and was still very photogenic. i dont think fame has changed her very much. she still seems incredibly down to earth 🥰🥰🥰

I always watch Last Meals, even if i dont know the person but i adore Karen and this was such a delight.
I'm really happy we got to see more of the reflection on mortality. There is definitely an ebb and flow based on the guest and how comfortable they are, hopefully the food will help disarm future guests to be more open like Karen!

I once met Karen in real life and she was the sweetest person ever. I was a huge fan of Doctor Who and as I kid I absolutely loved her character. (TLDR: She was hot and so kind and I was a small lesbian in denial)

That was the moment when I knew that Last Meal is getting to Hot Ones level. And honestly, it seems like a more pleasant experience to do.
i really feel that whole mentality thing at 8:35 , its just extremely relevant to me and the experience i had with being extremely confident in myself at my first job to basically no confidence at my second job, even though they where basically the same
