oh my god i'm so mad how is this the first time i'm discovering this, sign me the fuck up for this nostalgia train. really makes me realise how much i miss Rik too
I wish the enemy Ai could be made in a similar way it works in Pokemon, where each kind of Ai works the same at their core, but they all have specific characteristics that devs and map makers could take advantage of. Like having a pig that mainly focuses on healing, one that's more aggressive and mostly wants to deal massive damage, or one that rarely moves and mainly holds their position with scary aim. There's so much potential to be had with this stuff.
And maybe have it be different from team to team. So you have the Uncle Hams Hogs be aggressive with their firearms and heavy weapons, and then the Sow-A-Krauts can be more explosives centric.
Hi! I too played Frontschweine in my childhood . . . I was watching older videos of yours and had the question what the function of headjumps were, because today was the first time i heared about it :x
@@Cherno-Tekknobyl They are a handy way of taking out low health pigs, including your own! Especially if it can gain/remove a poison skip for/against you, it's drawback is being time consuming. The more I look at all of this Lardcore footage, not representative of the final product and all, the more I love it. Will definitely buy a copy, if it releases on a console I own 😊 What in my opinion such a game needs in 2024 is more game modes - the original campaign warts and all, maybe a new campaign from the ground up, multiplayer, some kind of endless challenge mode, "madness mode" for those who want to blow up stuff with unprecise weapons. Maybe more interactive linear missions a la boot camp. Case in point - Warioware and Super Smash Bros. Lots of modes that all use the same core mechanics, but with a twist.
Hey there Pinstripe, have you tried to make a game of your own before you started on this project? Like any small projects or ideas you had that you made happen, even small minigames not for public like a pong game or tried to make something in RPG maker before?
@@shinyguru For my latest hogs mod I made a side mini game in Unity that focused on telling more of the story that I couldn't show in the mod itself, you can find the trailer below. Stuff like the combat, driving and flying are all pretty basic, as I was more focused on building the world space and developing my own skills (learning triggers, damage modifiers, general unity stuff). I do have some other side projects not relating to hogs, one involving aerial combat, another one a horror game, both on the back burner though given where my focus is at currently. I've been working in the games industry for 7 years now, started in QA and progressed at Sega, before doing what I do and getting to where I am now :) m.ua-cam.com/video/FB0cgD-YFYg/v-deo.html

Yup! The original physics acts the same way with all props, you deal enough damage and it'll explode or said physics will take over and the prop might bounce around a little before then exploding. Craters and decals in general will be getting a pass sometime soon, so keep an eye out for them in future vids! :)
it was a game from a fair time ago, if i was being reductive i would call it "ww1 3d Worms" but, it was much more than that. alot of good comedy, puns and it had the voice talents of the late great rik mayall
Hogs of War - an almost great game. Unfortunately, it was entirely derivative of Worms, and had degenerate tactics. "Degenerate tactics" means there were particular tactics that were painfully superior to any other option, so you either use them or lose -- which makes every turn and every game play out in a predictable (and boring) manner.
@@chaosordeal294 while I respect the opinion I'd have to disagree. The mechanics and outcomes of specific actions and turns are completely separate from Worms. Take the water for instance, in worms you hit the drink and you are instantly dead, in hogs - pigs can swim, some take water damage, some have damage resistance in singleplayer. There's a reason why a competitive scene within this game exists almost 25 years later
I know everyone is eagerly awaiting the new pig models, and we will come to them in a future video, just once they're done cooking in the oven!
🎉
Whoever has been making the assets and art style choices 😙🤌 Amazing!
I can't wait for this! It looks amazing, keep up the good work
Bros passion for this game has been going on for over 20 years. Love to see where you're at now
Love to everyone involved in the development and thanks for putting so much love in it.
Nice video, keep working hard and the end will be in sight soon enough
So much passion for the original game exuding here. It's a blessing that someone like you is working on this project :)

best game of all time! Rik Mayall influenced me so much i can basically do any accent
Lardcore really starting to shape up nicely visually I must say.
_Good luck lads! Our thoughts are with you, wherever you may be._
Can't wait for this game!
Really hoping to see you guys back on Kickstarter !! Really want this game out !!
I know it is a minor thing, but I love how much easier it is to make things out on the mini-map in this build of the game.

The original game really needed more levels and class action in multiplayer. this looks very promising at least.
I have no idea what hogs of war is, looks cool though
