Man, your dad is oviously having the time of his life. He is probably the proudest dad this side of the Atlantic. Cherish the time you spend with him. My dad recently passed and I would not want to miss the last renovation project we did together for the world. Really touching to see him smile from the bottom of his heart.
Oh my god, for sure it's great watching him. It's like watching the videos of Ken Block as he watched his daughter put her Audi together. When she was learning to weld he stood in the background with the biggest grin on his face. He was probably the proudest dad on the other side of the Atlantic!
Be careful of carbon fibre dust Matt. You should really wear a mask as well as goggles when cutting/drilling. Hopefully with the little bits you did there was not much risk. Awesome video as ever though.
Honestly, it can’t just be me that thinks Matts dad is a genius mechanic. I’ve seen so many videos and he’s always got solutions. When everyone else seems lost; Matts dad will find a solution. What a man! Matts a genius in his own right and together no one can stop this duo. The whole world will tell them it’s impossible and they make it looks like it’s the easiest thing in the world. Best channel on UA-cam and like I always say, these two deserve every good thing coming their way.
I can’t get enough of Matt’s dad. I’ve never seen such a constantly smiling and happy father…ever lol. You guys are super lucky to have each other. Keep it up, whatever this formula is, it’s working.
Your videos are next level. You've cracked the "entertainment" code. The whole team is awesome. Your dads enthusiasm is infectious and the "just get it done" attitude is awesome.
Its nice seeing all the problems they encounter and how positive they are about them. Most people try to make everything seem perfect and only show things that go right or if they do show mess ups/problems they do so with a negative attitude. Really good channel overall. The only one thing I look forward to watching on UA-cam these days and most of Mark McCann/carwow but they can sometimes loose my interest. Think having his dad has made things 10x better to top things off. Think he should do a series on the same process (eg cat cars) but do it for profit and start with cheaper cars and buy, repair, sell upto a tidy car and give it to his dad. cos we know costs but not the true value of the finished cars.
Your dad is a superstar, Matt. The relationship between you two is an absolute joy to watch. Tony, you created a superstar and a nice guy with it. Keep up the great work, I cannot get enough of the channel!
Hi Mat, just a heads up I’m not sure what you bonded that piece with but as someone that works with carbon fibre on a daily basis building cross Atlantic rowing boats I’d highly recommend sanding down the area slightly with P60 sandpaper where you are bonding so that it adheres properly. Also I would’ve used crestomer bonding paste, (needs catalyst(KP9). This stuff is the proper stuff needed to make a strong bond. Also when cutting, sanding wear a mask!
Good advice, some simple tricks to get a good bond like glass beads lightly sprinkled in the epoxy and cleaning everything with acetone prior to gluing. Please wear masks!!!!
People like Mat can really change how other people around him feels. I rewatch all his videos at least two times, one for the content and one to enjoy the presence and character. Thanks man
Mat. Your dad looks like he is having the time of his life mate. Both of you do. Your channel is amazing and having your dad more involved just adds to it. Keep up the good work Mat.
I watch a lot of car restoration videos and I've gotta say, the way you explain everything on camera and with voice over is what makes this videos so good. Not very many youtubers putting this much effort into the video production, amazing work.
tbf he's not really repairing it, he's building a totally different car at this point. I'd be curious to know how the registration is going to work, I'd have assumed that the tub would have the VIN number on it. If that was the case then the car will have to go through the full inspection and registration process.
I have to say those dried leaves left in the front frame ( 11:28 ) are doing my head in! Still, a minor concern with respect to this epic rebuild. I’m in awe of your skills!
Fun fact. I was working out of a very well known software company’s offices a few years ago and they had a fully trimmed mp4-12c rigged up as a sim, among a bunch of other cool toys
Same here ! Severe Depression took my ability to enjoy anything. But watching Mat and his dad makes me smile every single time. The vibes, the positivity, the laughter, the progress they make is so inspiring and uplifting. This is GOOD stuff.

Mat, I just discovered your channel and I have been watching it non stop. I lost my dad to cancer 26 years ago and at the time we were working on a 1953 Chevy sedan together. I am so happy that you have had this time with your dad and will have these videos to look at. Thank you for making these videos and I wish you more success in the future. Cheers from a humble colonist!
Completely agreed, he has been to shows and everything since he got it, and now it's officially running, if there are no parts delays he's making it with flying colors
Gotta take a moment to appreciate the fact his dad is now always part of these builds, has been for a while i know but, so wholesome man. Thats precious stuff right there. The joy in that high five when the motor finally turned over. Thats everything haha. Well done Matt, you're too cool. But your dads cooler 😅
Absolutely awesome to see you getting this done so fast. You don't need additional noise in the cabin. It's way nicer to have a conversation and hear yourself think at 300 kmp... I'm so excited to see you started it and figured out all the holes with bonding in the carbon fibre from the other body. I love that you are working with your Dad and Matt, very cool.
Your Dads a legend Matt. love the relationship you and your Dad have working on cars, sadly, my dad was disabled and passed 2003, i never got to experience working with my dad, cherish every moment you have with him, they cant be replaced.

What a great episode Mat, you and Tony knocked this one out of the park. I hope that UA-cam takes note of your success as you rebuild this incredibly complicated super car and take us all on the journey video by video. Its absolutely beautiful you do this with your dad and it seems like you both have a really strong connection with each other. Also its becoming an amazing car already! Love cars!
Hi Mat, I enjoy your builds a lot. Great work you, your dad and friends are doing. And so much fun you are having. I also use a Mr. Push and tweaked it, since a tire loses pressure quite soon. I made a little airpress hose with the connector to the air pressure hose on one side and a cut off tire valve on the other side. Put your outgoing pressure low and you’re set.😊
You guys are blowing my mind with every video. Can't wait to see if everything goes well. One thing: make sure to wear a mask when cutting carbon fibre. This stuff is pretty nasty. Cheers

Imagine if life was easily transformed just by plugging in one wire! The enjoyment on your face when that engine started is priceless! Loving the build as I do with all your builds!
Love watching this build. This will be epic when done. Although I’m sure you know, cutting carbon and releasing particles is dangerous. Face masks brother 😉👌🏻
Does anyone else sit and watch these videos and say “Mat……you’re completely bonkers!” while laughing at the same time? The GT3 was good….this is going to be even better! Good luck Mat, Tony and the team 👏👏👏
Love your builds. But I really love how you get to work with your dad. I was lucky enough to do that for many years but he is retired now. Cherish every moment and memory. I’ve heard you say how important it was to you in other videos and I can tell you let him know. I can see how happy he is working with you too. Anyway just wanted to say I appreciate your work and the entertainment you guys put out. Keep up the great work!!!
It's important to buy cars when interest rates and prices are low. My financial advisor also gave me the same advice. When rates and prices are low, it can save you money on financing and make the overall cost more affordable.
My financial advisor advises buying cars when interest rates and prices are low. However, he also cautions against it right now due to the hidden costs of car ownership, like insurance and maintenance. He helps me plan for these expenses and manages my portfolio to ensure financial stability. It's all about making strategic decisions and having a well-rounded financial plan.
Having a well-diversified portfolio is essential for financial success. A financial advisor can provide expert guidance, minimize risks, and offer insights on profitable investments. They bring experience and expertise, ensuring your portfolio is optimized for success. It's like having a trusted ally by your side, helping you achieve your financial goals..
My Financial Advisor is Samuel Peter Descovich. I found him on a CNBC interview where he was featured and reached out to him afterwards. He has since provide entry and exit points on the securities I focus on. You can run a quick online research with his name if you care for supervision. I basically follow his market moves and haven't regretted doing so.
please wear respirators and spray the areas with water before you cut the carbon to prevent the dust getting airborne and you inhaling it, carbon dust isnt fun to breathe in :)
This really needs to be higher. It is extremely bad for you! Tony will definitely not make it to retirement age if he keeps doing that.
Totally agree, not something I want in my lungs
A "healthy" dose garantee for a cancer.
Please wear a mask when you work with carbon specially when came with carbon dust.
Hard to watch...
Just put ozone machine in the day before (not for dust)
It's like resin dust, just sits in your lungs forever. Respirators for the win guys!

I think he is so adorable. And their connection is amazing
It brings a smile to my face everytime I see his joy in the project.
His dad will not become old and enjoy his retirement if he doesn't use a respirator when cutting carbon fiber, same goes with Mat's lungs.
Oh my god, for sure it's great watching him. It's like watching the videos of Ken Block as he watched his daughter put her Audi together. When she was learning to weld he stood in the background with the biggest grin on his face. He was probably the proudest dad on the other side of the Atlantic!

The man the myth the legend and his son Mat !!! Keep up the great work guys
I love your dad in these videos. Seems so humble man. Videos are another level mat. You’re 100 times above all other rebuild channels
I third this 👌🏻
One of the best things about this video is the bond with your dad and how much fun you clearly have. You’re both so lucky 😊

His biggest mistake was not using a mask when dealing with cutting and sanding carbon fibre!
People like Mat can really change how other people around him feels.

Thanks man
Mat is literally the only guy on UA-cam that can get us to actually watch the adds and not just skip through them.
frl
Just quickly go to your previous web browser and then back to the video. Thank me later
Do you actually still manually skip sponsors ?XDDD

I love mats dad man the energy he got in every project just inspires me so much, your really lucky to have a father like him mat
The definition of *”hold my beer”* when McLaren told Mat he wouldn’t be able to repair this car
Should be "hold my Y food" 😂
tbf he's not really repairing it, he's building a totally different car at this point. I'd be curious to know how the registration is going to work, I'd have assumed that the tub would have the VIN number on it. If that was the case then the car will have to go through the full inspection and registration process.

😂😂😂😂 this was a good one
To be fair to Mclaren the tub is irrepairable. Great videos. Thanks.

I dont.
at this rate mid November

HUGE IDEA! Matt, don't let the left over unfixable monocoque go to waste, instead turn it into the ultimate Racing Simulator!
Oh my god yes!!!!!!! What an amazing idea 💡 👏
I thought this too, however you’d need a full interior to make it feel realistic

right, I wear a 3m double filter full out mask no matter what the dust, paint or metal grinding is going on... even wear when sweeping the shop haha
Definitely isn’t the worst.. pretty sure that title goes to asbestos

Although I’m sure you know, cutting carbon and releasing particles is dangerous. Face masks brother 😉👌🏻
Who else loves it when matt uploads🥳
More uploads 😅
Great to see how much fun you are having and how relaxed you stay even when things are not working! As impressive as the project!
“I’m not that cool” said the person rebuilding a 720S 😂😂 can’t wait to hear that engine at high RPM Mat, good luck mate! 🙏🙏
Does anyone else sit and watch these videos and say “Mat……you’re completely bonkers!” while laughing at the same time? The GT3 was good….this is going to be even better! Good luck Mat, Tony and the team 👏👏👏
This series is honestly blowing my mind! How far you have come is absolutely insane.
The cool hole would be sick, but if you’re getting any sort of aftermarket exhaust I don’t think you’ll need it 😂
Its already got the most expensive upgrade you can get i think
You can run a quick online research with his name if you care for
supervision. I basically follow his market moves and haven't regretted doing so.
Thank you, i pasted his name on my browser and his portfolio came up. Just wrote to him and waiting for reply.
-I just looked up his name on Google and saw his impressive resume. I consider myself lucky to have found this comment area..
