This week, it’s a Top 10 special episode where TheCarGuys pick their favourite 10 Porsche of all time - an almost impossible task.
What Porsche will make it into the top 10? What about the 2.7RS? Or the 959? 918 Spider? 356? 928? Or even the latest monster, the GT2 RS? In fact, will any classic Porsche make it into the list? One thing’s for sure, YOU are NOT going to agree with this top 10 list.

I love that Jason picked the 928. It was a favorite of mine when I was a kid.

Same...I had the 928 poster on my wall, pepper pot wheels and black and white checked upholstery lol...tho fave was 928s!
Considering the current cost of a 928 ... they should be a hot rodders dream. One couldn’t buy a chassis, suspension, trans, body etc for cheaper.

I think the 928 in any version is a rare sight and a car so ahead of its time it still looks incredible. Another fab video guys.

928 was the 1st Porsche I fell in love with.. great pick. Now an adult and own a 928S4.
FAB video , great idea ...Ok this is where I am on this; 928 I'm in total agreement, those race cars while being incredible aren't allowed Jason cause we cant drive them on the road, Carrera GT God yes had to be on here, those 964's have rightly come to the desirability party at last, 356 speedster is desperately appealing, the 959 never quite did it for me, 997 RS4.0 is almost the all time number 1, and the GT3 touring sounds like perfection and is on my reviewing wish list, I loved this episode Guys and your days spent agonising and video making is appreciated here in Bailey towers, well done!

What a fun video. So many great cars to choose from in Porsche’s back catalogue.
I was surprised that the early 70’s RS ducktail didn’t get a mention. As for the 928, what a car and way ahead of its time.
My favourite, the 959.

The 928 is my favourite Porsche.
I saw a press one in London being driven by a full on yuppie,guards red with the plate THE 928S.
having never owned or driven a Porsche and being 54,its fair to say I never will.
So the 928S4 in guards red with red piped magnolia leather IS my dream Porsche.
The 4.0 997, the GT3 Touring and 928 S1 with the polished flat wheel and no aero in that brown Porsche Colour with brown leather and checkered seats would be my favourites of all time, but Carrera GT obviously aswell, but that's an outlandish dream really. Great video, nicely edited and great chats lads.
928 has to make any Porsche list. My '87 S4 is in the garage.
924 is maybe a bit better

Loved my 5 speed 78 928..It was like driving around a spirited well handling tank..I’ve been on E Bay checking out 928!s lately as well..
I'm with you on the 928. Had an S4 up to 165 mph once. Nice thing. Tried many, but never really wanted a 911.

The original Series 1 928 is my favourite but I did have a lot of fun in a rare manual Series3 GT back in the 90s.great car, very underrated!
Remember going to the nec in 1992 and seeing 2 964s. One in Rubystone red and one in mint green. Suspended up in the air. Looked amazing. Also the concept boxster was in my opinion a great looking thing.

There is a B plate 928 in brown just near me. Parks out on the street and is a bit battered. Seems to be in daily use. Too cool.
Road and Track reviewed the 917. It killed so many race drivers. One driver described how when the front of the car was ripped off he saw his shoe. With foot still in it, down on the track. Still love the 928. Cheers
I was never a huge fan of the 964 either but recently I've seen a few 964 Turbos (in the metal and in print) recently. That side profile....the curve from the wheel arch to the window is just a stunning bit of shaping.
I would add the Porsche 550 A Spider somewhere in the list, but what a great choice of cars!

Once remember seeing one at the Start of a German VHS Frankie Vaughn Film, driving into a mansion grounds in slow motion......

Agree with your choices. Ten really limits choices. It's like an Eric Clapton concert, he has enough songs to sing nonstop for a week so in a concert, it just depends on the crowd and his mood :)
356 Carrera 2 in red everything. That’s my pick followed by CGT and a wave off many 911s. Great list guys!
Jason I must say I would have picked everything you did. As a kid I was mesmerized by the 917 and still am. Loved all the choices. Excellent job.
928 my dream machine

Great review Guys - pleasure to watch. One comment though - the wooden gear knob was there not to save weight, it was fitted to reduce temperature transfer from extremely hot gearbox to a driver’s hand. The tradition was then carried out from the 1960’s to the rest of Porsche performance cars throughout the years. Best wishes, Thor

All beautiful machines. As an Engineer, the 959 has always captured my soul, being such a technical marvel - and a testament to insane German engineering to marry all the tech to a 450hp flat six!! Plus I'm still in love with the look of it - that rear view with the integrated spoiler - perfection!!
My #2 would have to be the 918 Spyder. Between looks and performance, again, the Germans outdid themselves with a hypercar that truly reflects where we are with hybrid technology! Plus I find it one of the most beautiful Porsche's ever!
Rest of your list I have no disagreement with! Even the 928. I've always LOVED all 911's, but the 928 was something unique, and beautiful.

3. 997 GT3 RS 4.0
Never the 959, great car but a bit of a yawn now.
@@benzinapaul7416 if I saw a 959 I would be so excited. The performance might not be comparable to today's hyper cars, but I would appreciate for the technological marvel that it was and the work of art that it still is.
Ace vid. I saw a genuine gulf 917 in New Zealand on a track near Auckland...it was going so much faster than anything else and the sound, in all that is holy it was the best track sight I’d had ever seen!!!

Cracking list and an impossible challenge. For my 10pence I'd flag 70's RSR - anything "Safari" spec. 904 is achingly beautiful, 550's. Great video as always guys.
Great list and brave of you to create it :) One I'd add is quite possibly the most important. Why? Since, if my memory is correct, it single handedly saved Porsche from the ash bin of history: the 944. As I remember Porsche almost ran out of money but for the sales of the the 944. Imagine a car world without porsche!

Great episode I love Porsche cars I have never owned one or driven but at some point I am determined to.
One of my favourites is GT3RS 2016 Ultra Violet👍 And the 964RS oh and 996 C4S blue.

Owning a 997.2 GT3 RS 3.8 i think i agree with you. ;-) Although there are so so many that i haven't driven yet. '73 RS, 993 RS, 964 RS... To me the sweet spot between power/size etc maybe the 997.1 GT3. With 415HP it eventually is perfectly suited for the road.
944 Turbo would be on my list but, overall, I think the current generation Carrera 4 is just about the best. You can use it for everyday commuting, collect shopping in it, take it on long European journeys and you've still got room for a couple of grandchildren in the rear seats. It's all the car you need !

I think your list looks really good. I also agree finding a Top10 for Porsches is really difficult. So much history, so much choice and so many different cars over the years. Ferrari Top10 is almost as difficult I guess. Other brands are way easier in my opinion. Entertaining Video!

I agree the 997 sport classic with the duck tail is a gorgeous car and well worthy of mention. I think if you add the dimension of ‘bang for buck’ the 981 Spyder is a phenomenal car.
Its friday/ beer in hand, and the CAR GUYS🥳 964 IS THE 1. looking at 997 thou for my shallow pockets 😉. Ps gt3 touring if pockets deeper

A brave (and risky!) stab at narrowing it down from so many worthy contenders ! And a great watch as usual, thank you. The road cars I've had most fun/ease of daily use from over the years, with nostalgia playing the biggest part I'm sure! - 3.0 SC, 3.2 Carrera G50 narrow body, 944S, 944 Turbo and 928 S4. Of your choices, the Touring, for that same all round usability, wins for me. Understated somehow, more than capable and just beautiful.

The 935 flat nose is the car that made me take notice of Porches outside of the 928.

I don't own a 356, 917 or 935 but I do own all the others you have listed including a 993 GT2. All in 1:18 scale. Yep, they're pretty nice!

I agree with your choices but surprised no mention of the 918, which of course a boatload of Pringles potato chips will be forthcoming, but the 911 Turbo from the film Bad Boys yes an excellent mention. Again thanks for the memories. I can't forget Jason's mention of the 928, you read my thoughts, sir.

Great fun guys, I’d imagine many a long beer fuelled evenings have been shared all over the world trying to do the same top 10 list. Despite this, I watched this video and just kept wondering and hoping that Damian had the 930 plugged in to a trickle charger as every time the video cut back to him I couldn’t stop focussing on the interior lights being on as he had the door open.... Please advise...😂🤣

Yes and arguably 3 of the top 5 (incl imho GT2 and 996.2 GT3 RS (Ice Cream Van red and blue) - the best RS after the 993RS) - had three of those 5 !

Maybe the list should have been split 5 Road cars and 5 race cars, I do agree with all your choices and why they are on it but I cant have a top Porsche list without the 956/962 series of cars due to their utter dominance back in the day, it’s an often forgotten car or should I say cars, I always think of them as one car, just upgraded continuously 😎👍
