Buddy, You adjusted your chain wrong. Wheels should be on the ground. Makes a big difference. This is per the manual. Also slack is tested on the bottom portion of the chain not the top. Not trying to jump on you but you need to do it correctly or yer gonna have a host of problems (chain and/or sprocket excess wear, chain jumping off, chain breaking, etc.) and I don't want to see that happen to you. Broken chains have been known to get jammed up and break engine cases, lots of very bad things. Please, check the manual and do it correctly. Thanks. EDIT: One more thing. Not sure about 2001 and newer but the older TWs like mine have 2 zerk fittings on the swingarm that should be greased at least every time you change oil.
So I’m having a senior moment here but as I started to edit the video I realized my mistake (end of a long day) but I found specifications for on and off the ground. So I just stuck with what I filmed. I did double check the tension though and it is within the on the ground specs (according to the owners manual the service manual is actually way different)
@@dirtcopdualsport I don't think people realize that those bearings need maintenance. TW has 2 zerks on the swingarm. None on the steering tube bearings.
Music should have been WHEEL IN THE SKY. Cleaned, oiled & adjusted my XR250 chain last night. Cleaned it w kerosene. Dried it. Lubed w 75/90 syn gear oil. Wiped it off again. Non O-ring DID chain. TW is next.
You keep taking care of that bike like you are. You're gonna have that bike forever. Man, that's awesome MAN !
Haha hopefully one of my kids wants it and I can get another one!

Grease be gone! I have got to give my bike some love. Great vid!
Thanks buddy!!!! Next time you have it in town let’s grease’r up.
Nice. Looked like some pretty decent cleaner and chain lube there!
It’s seems to be doing the job!
I need to tighten the 'Squatch Rocket' chain. Thank you!
I live to serve, sir.
Just put my new one on today 😊
Right one! Which one did you go for?
@@dirtcopdualsport Good niche chain. And sunstars 50tooth. Front is a 15t
@@Anthonyhancock71 Nice!
Use Kerosene. Everything becomes thin and easy to wipe off. I use Yamalube to finish it off.
My CT90 owners manual direct you to melt half a container of Vaseline in some motor oil and then put you chain in and simmer for an hour or so.

Swingarm & steering head bearings should be cleaned, inspected & lubed yearly.
@@Rene-up1dl I’m thinking in a later video😉

I find it hard to do this stuff knowing your going to jump right back in the mud 😂
I know how you feel! That’s why my bike’s been caked in mud all winter lol
