Your comment about wishing you started doing this when you were younger hit home hard. I'm in a similar boat my friend! You're brave to start now! Keep going!
Thanks for the kind words! I have no plans to stop though some days the youtube journey itself feels very fruitless! I'm lucky I enjoy filmaking as much as I enjoy riding!
I like this kind of country. I have a 2022 TW and I ride it a lot within 100 miles of Pocatello. When you were talking about switchbacks, I remember a ride that me and a few friends took in Washington many years ago before Mt St Helens blew up. The map showed 5 switchbacks, but in fact there were 33 of them. This was a single track, and I was riding an XT500. Most of the switchbacks were so tight that going up I would lean back and lift the front wheel and pivot the bike to the other side of the switchback. Going down, I would need to shut off the bike, then get off and drag the front end around. I was riding with guys that were several steps above me in ability, and they had moto-cross bikes. I scouted out the trail the week before, so when we got to the trailhead, a couple of them had different tooth count front sprockets, and they asked me how they should gear. I told them to put the lowest gearing that they had on their bikes. One of them gave me a questioning look, and I told him that he would never get out of second gear today. They were off like a shot, and all 3 of them would be waiting at every cross-roads. I would point which way to go, and they were off like a shot again. I caught up with them on all of the switchbacks. It seems that a tractor like my 500 handled the switchbacks a lot easier than their race bikes. LOL Sadly, that trail is now covered up with several feet of volcanic ash. The country was spectacular at that time. Now......not so much.
@@dirtcopdualsport I seriously doubt that. This trail was only about 1 or 2 miles from St Helens. At the time, I worked for Weyerhaeuser Timber Co. Unless you knew what it looked like before, you would have no concept of the destruction. If the mountain had erupted 12 hours later than it did, I would have not survived. I worked in the RED zone every night. (Graveyard) Besides, all of that area is now a monument. There are lots of other single tracks all over this area, or at least there were. I have not been back to that area for over 40 years. When I left, I moved to Northern Nevada. What a culture shock. No trees!!! But, as far as dirt bike riding, it was/is awesome. I am in Idaho now, and the riding for both dirt bikes and quads is spectacular. Many more Forest Service Trails, and thousands of miles of 2 tracks and forest roads.
Thanks buddy! It was a good ride wish I had shotty with me though. The guy is Aidin Robbins. He does a lot of documentary type stuff. Natalie Lynn also has some great story telling, you just have to get past the Gen Z vibes lol
I also live in Pocatello. I have a TW myself. We need to get together and go for a ride sometime. I usually ride alone, but it would be nice to have a riding buddy. I am nervous putting my phone number out on the net, but today I will go over to the Chubbuck Yamaha dealer and leave my phone number with them. Just tell them that the guy with the T Bucket left a phone number.
I have been on those roads! My dad has property near Murray, and I have ATVed these runs on a Yamaha 350 Grizzly. I like to go up to bloom peak and Nocelly loop.

I also agree with the short film thing, I like to make more cinematic videos also!

I live in Kentucky. When I ride off road like you're doing I always get eat up by tics. How bad is it where you're riding?

Might get a little crowded depending on the day!
DO You go to places that you can't go in a Truck?
Also check this one out: ua-cam.com/video/b0ZGsL-NJLI/v-deo.htmlsi=k5pvNs27Nzgiro8a I avoid things that are too tough as I do a lot of riding alone.
Are those protaper bars?
They are and I love them
Also have the Rox risers
Do you go anywhere that you can't go in a truck?
I sure do, though I prefer four wheeler sized trails. Check out this video! ua-cam.com/video/y0zqiDkSg2g/v-deo.htmlsi=QxQa9uoEt_2VfUdx
