man I love these videos, keep them coming. you're my favourite apple creator because you seem to actually make great use of all the features that come with the devices.
The home scenes shortcuts folder is amazing. I have like 10 things I do several times daily in there. Mix of home control, calendars, texting, etc. Thanks for showing this!
I am seeking a solution to help manage my usage of applications, specifically social media platforms like Facebook. My objective is to implement a timer that initiates when I open the app, automatically closing it or locking the screen once the designated time has elapsed. Additionally, I would like to extend this functionality to other applications, such as disabling mobile data after a set duration of 30 minutes from activation. I would appreciate any insights or recommendations on how to achieve this. Thank you for your assistance.
I've learned so much from your videos! I was wondering if there was an automation to disable notifications on just my watch when exercising? I still want them enabled on my phone though.
Great video and very useful. Just wondering is there any way to create a shortcut to trigger same Apple Translate interface as the one in action button?
Hey man! Loved your video. I'm hoping you can help with a shortcut I can't figure out on my own...Is there a way to toggle Downtime on/off? I'm interested in a shortcut that allows me to take a break from downtime for 10-15 minutes during work hours so I don't have to fumble thru the menus to do it myself. Thanks!
Quick question ? HEY ! How do you make a you tube shortcut to fast fwd or adjust the playback speed of a video? I wanna make the action button on the iPhone 16 a button that automatically fast-forward the playback speed to 2X on UA-cam video while I'm watching it so I don't have to touch the screen
Great video, thank you! I have a question about the new toggle command in shortcuts. I see the toggle command when I create a new shortcut, but I don’t see the toggle command when I convert an automation to a shortcut. Am I missing something?
Amazing! I’ve watched all of your shortcut videos! Thank you. Request: I have many home pages, each specific (work, fitness, etc..). Is there a shortcut(s) that can take me to any of those pages without turning on focus mode?
• Add a dictionary • Add new item and select "Text" • Type the name of the website as the key and the URL as the text value • Repeat for each website • Add "Choose from List" and select "Dictionary" • Add "Open URLs" and select "Selected Item" I hope that gets you what you need. If you want to go to each specific website when certain conditions apply, you would need to specify the conditions with an if-action, for example, and open the URL when the conditions are true. As I don't have the details, I cannot help you with the specific condition matching
I would like to offer you a video idea is to create a shortcut on the iPhone and share it on the Apple Watch, to use finger tapping to turn off or on connected lights. Do you think it would be feasible?
Another awesome-and timely-video! But here's a weird thing... maybe you can verify on your iPhone (I'm running the 16 PM). If I want to use a Control for the action button, I can't seem to bind the Apple Notes Quick Note even though I have it in my Control Center. Are you able to bind that control to the Action button on your iPhone or am I missing something painfully obvious?
Thank you for the videos. They're great! Question for you. I'd like to set my action button to flashlight and then customize the lock screen to voice recorder and silent mode. But silent mode isn't showing up as an option. I can find it in control center but not as a replacement for the flashlight. I've seen others describing the same issue with no resolution. I'm sure I could probably create a silent mode shortcut and add that to the lock screen but this first approach seems like it should work. Any suggestions?
is it possible to make a shortcut for if your airpods connect to your phone and you're on a call, nothing happens, but if you're not on a call it will open spotifty? i've tried using the additional shortcuts from the actions app but couldnt get it to work, thanks.
I have a Shortcut request: I usually keep my work email (inactive), and whenever I am away from office and need to fetch an email I go to Settings >>Apps>>Mail>> Mail accounts>>the activate the mail and the calander to check for meetings I would very much to have a shortcut on the iphone desktop that activate both the work email and work calander if they are inactive and deactivate them if they are active once i am done with what i need
I wish this were possible but there’s are no actions for that. I would recommend trying Focus modes though, as you can choose what email and calendar accounts are active per focus! And then you can create a Shortcut that changes your focus mode based on location.
I fear that is not possible as there are no actions to toggle a mail account from using its mail and calendar. The only way to filter out mail and calendar is to use a Focus outside of work that uses a mail and calendar filter. In calendar, you can simply toggle the work calendar to turn it off, if you want to avoid using a Focus, but you cannot toggle off the mail account easily
Thank you for this vídeos! Can I ask for a shortcut? I share my Google Maps location with my husband and vice-versa. But now I have na iPhone, but I can’t have a shortcut to just click and see where he is, like I had on my android.
Great video as usual-very next level and forward-thinking. I couldn’t locate your “Today View” shortcuts to download. I’m particularly interested in the “Recording Video” one. Any chance you could share it? Thanks again!
Stephen, great video once again. I’ve got a shortcut request that I can’t figure out, maybe you can help me. For work each day I have to email a PDF report. I have no issue creating the information for the PDF in shortcuts. However I need to add my company logo at the top of the PDF, and I can’t figure out how to add an image to a PDF to then email out. If you can figure this out this would save me and my team a lot of time rather than having to go back to my office each morning just to use the same old PDF template on my office computer. Thank you, and I think you are the king 👑 of UA-cam shortcut tutorials!
Appreciate that! I think you'd have to convert to an image, add an overlay action, then convert back to PDF. You may lose some quality there, but I'll add to the requests to see if it's possible!
nice ideas! i wonder if it is possible to check in the if case, if e.g. the car is connected with bluetooth and the current location is "at home"... would like to trigger the garage door opener only in this case, otherwise do other stuff :D any hints welcome ^^
I don't know if something like this is possible, but I would like to active certain NFC cards based on proximity. Like my work ID card when I'm at work, credit card while at mall (multiple malls)
Do you have dictation turned on? To check this, go into Settings > General > Keyboard and check whether the dictation is turned on or off. This should already be showing in the Shortcuts app. If it's turned on, try restarting your phone and if it's still not working, reset Siri by turning it off and on again
Can you program the action button to change based on location? For instance at home I want it to be my Apple TV Remote & at Work I want the Calculator without needing to switch it manually.
Stephen HELP. I used to have a shortcut that was able to enable transparency or ANC on my AirPods Pro based on what was active and it enabled the one contrary to it. With the new AirPods and or iOS 18 update the shortcut no longer works. Can you help me find a way to create a new one that does it? I don’t want the ask every time menu I want it to toggle between them when I use my action button.
I have 14 Pro Max right now, and I just don't see the need in upgrading at this point. Apple Intelligence seems cool and everything, but not worth the rush to buy. Only feature that would benefit me is thread and 8GBs of ram.
True right? It’s like a solution to a problem that never existed… like on the lock screen, flashlight and cam are still there, the swipe for camera never works anyways…
I’m on a 15PM, I have my action button set to turn on sleep mode. When I walk into my living room I just ask Siri to turn on my Apple Tv. When I update to ios18 I’ll probably make the action button open an action folder or open camera. Will edit the Home Screen camera to turn on sleep mode
How can I create a shortcut menu which would point to these categories within Apple Maps. Pinned, Places, Guides, Routes? Thanks in advance for the support.

I want to attach a SUPER BASIC script to skip to next song in iMusic. but the action button is inactive when in pocket or face down. is there a way to disable pocket detection. if not, they need to make it an option. not all things action button are troublesome if you get a pocket press.

additionally...they need to add the ability to chose a Wi-Fi network within a script. I have a script that performs certain functions, but has to interrupt so I can chose a Wi-Fi network. making me have to use two shortcuts. as I am already logged into both my networks, you SHOULD have the ability to, with a script, select and login to another of your own Wi-Fi networks.

Brilliant video man. Can see all the work you’ve put into this. Wish you the best and will be watching in the future!
Where did you get your case? I like it.
What phone case is this?
I’m really enjoying and benefiting a lot from your videos. You just gained a new subscriber 😁👍
You deserve more subscribers and views.. love your videos )
Your videos are a God send ! I honestly feel like I’m using my phone to its full capability because of your videos !!
Excellent! I've already got my Action button displaying a Shortcut folder with commonly used features.
Great tutorial! Voice to note is dope!
Appreciate it!
I added a short cut that my focus mode will be on for two hours for a movie and having the shortcuts folder is amazing! Thank you so much!!

Surprised you didn’t show the orientation shortcut. I use that one and love it

I ended up just creating a "toggle silent mode" shortcut and added it to the lock screen. Works good so far.
Hey Jared, I don’t think there’s a built-in control for that for the Lock Screen, so I would build the Shortcut and that should work!
Is there any way to make the action button replace double clicking for apple pay? 😭
