Hey folks - to those who are asking about wallpapers, I always try and put links to them in the description if I've made a pack. You can find my wallpapers here: iokyle.gumroad.com/
@ThegreatBrandon Should be free? No, it shouldn't . Could be free but it isn't. Do your own wallpapers then instead of expecting some stranger to give it to you. Personally i wouldn't charge money for it, but to each his own.
On the lock screen, I change the camera button to the remote you technically don’t need the camera button cause you could just swipe to the left on the lock screen to open the camera
I know I sound crazy , but somehow , sometimes, I would rather click the icon, sometimes I would swipe. I think it depends on the situation / what I am doing/ how I am holding the phone. and there are times, maybe coz my greasy hand or screen protector, the swipe doesnt work the first time. I know I am the minority but that's why I still keep it that way lol
Please don't get me wrong, the info shared in this video is great - and I get, why some people use this. On the other hand though: I achieve similar level of "sanity" by doing basically nothing fancy. Top half of my single home screen are 1/4th widgets displaying useful information, 2x4 icons beneath are the apps I use most often, dock the apps I use regularly. Disabled notifications for basically everything other than calls/messages. Easy to develop muscle-memory - minimal set-up time. If I don't want to get disturbed > enable Do not disturb. Occasionally I launch an app with spotlight. The end.
Tip for removing icons from home screen: you can select multiple at the same time like you did when moving them. If you swipe to your App Drawer and release in there, they are removed from Home Screen 👍
Very useful, Kyle... I'm planning to get an iPhone in a few months. I kinda tired of being an Android user since I don't even remember when and willing to try something different, so this video will surely help me a lot.
I like having the text removed under the icons but I don’t like how big the icons get. They almost look bloated. Why can’t we have no text under the icons with normal sized icons? Good grief Apple!! 😡
I love that finally we can rearrange the layout of our apps, I just hate the fact that I feel there is so much wasted room between the bottom apps bar and the rest of the screen, plus if you choose the no text option it looks even worse because that gap increases... I wish we could change the size of the grid and the icons like on Android...
These tips & overall updates to the os are awesome. Great content as usual. However it’s still one thing I’ve been waiting for Apple to allow on the iPhone… SPLIT SCREEN !
@@KyleErickson Your Mac tutorials have been my go to while I have been learning to navigate that new OS. Having been a Windows guy for years, I’m using my first Mac.
This may be off topic (I’m going to watch the rest of this video I promise) - but I wanted to compliment you on something most UA-camrs (myself included) struggle with. And that’s your intro. It’s usually a skipping point. But this was so incredibly well done I had to say something. Anyway, subbed lol - looking forward to your iOS 18 workflow
Great video but for this type of info a plane wallpaper would have made it much easier for my old eyes to see! Looked like something from my hippy days and Woodstock 😂
Pro tip: You can still open the camera by swiping left (finger moves from right to left) on the lock screen. I also use the camera a lot, but have been able to free up that button by swiping instead of using the button.
"Dark Mode" is so passe. I'm excited for the 'Semi-transparent-clear frosted appearance to the app' icons, giving that 'sense of hierarchy' continuity to the iPhone.
How do you get an app to appear twice when setting up your focus groups?? I want my Spotify app on multiple groups and I see that you accomplished that but I can’t figure out how to get it to work??
@cammaclean1115 I got this from perplexityai :To display the same app on multiple Home Screen pages in iOS 18, you can use the App Library. First, locate the app in the App Library, press and hold it, then drag it to a Home Screen page. Repeat this process to add the app to additional pages. This method creates shortcuts to the same app on different pages without moving the original icon.
Great video. You showed a few things I haven't seen in other videos about how to use iOS 18. You and I also have some similar preferences on how to organize items and how to use Focus Mode. It was good to see how to set things up with the new iOS 18. Thanks a lot! By the way, you've got some cool wallpapers!
Such an amazing video, Kyle! Loved the way you have setup your iPhone especially the focus modes, really helps in simplifying the setup depending on the hour of day. Look forward to an iPad version of this setup at some point as well :) Cheers!
The only useful video out there, it seems ! Great work! I wanted to use focus modes properly for so long, but needed guidance in this way. Thankx so much. Will support by buying your wallpaper pack! Keep making actually useful videos which let us use these devices as tools, and not just toys.
@@Sukunude The new photos app doesn't even let you filter pictures/videos taken with the device's camera... This is such a basic feature: an album or a filter that just shows the things I captured with the camera...
I had the iOS 18 beta for about a month and was splended with it until just a few days ago I was having a lot of missed calls due to sounds not ringing (yes I checked to see if Silence Unknown Callers were on but they weren't) so I was forced to a wipe losing everything and having to redo everything to get iOS 17.6.1 back. Feels so odd coming from iOS 18.
Great video, thx!!! Is it somehow possible to turn on or off the location via a shortcut or other fast options, just without going the hard way into settings etc.??? I really need that option, absolutely love it on Android, just 1 ckick and done....is there a secret way to do it? THX!!!
Great video, thank you. I still get email notifications from Mail even though that app is not in my allowed list in my focus mode. Is that something I'm getting wrong? Many thanks.
Great video - Just what I needed to watch.,, Just curious, do you use Large text as your default display mode? Text on your iPhone looks so easy to read

Hey man, just found your channel! I’m wondering if you’ve discovered a workaround for certain integrations Apple made with the calendar and reminders app. I take medication twice a day, and when I turned that on, it obviously clouded my calendar and I’m trying to find a way to eliminate that certain repeating reminder.
A trick that would be awesome is if there was a way to make the password manager save the passwords it generates for websites when you update them. Yes, it has a button for this, but the button doesn’t actually do anything. Having to ‘forgot password’ and reset every password every time I access a website is surprisingly annoying. Having a way for my phone, computer and iPad to remember the passwords it comes up with would be a huge time saver. Any ideas?
@@jn5122 yes i am very aware of that, but again, the fact that a HIDDEN folder is VISIBLE is kinda of odd don't you think? :) I mean with samsung for example, a hidden folder isn't displayed for everyone to see, you need to dig around a bit to actually activate it, it's quite literally hidden, it's just poor UX on apple's part
@@BLTDFRNTyes, but the hidden folder still appears even if you have nothing hidden. So it is visible, but the contents are hidden, but that could also mean there’s nothing in the folder.
