@@kaylamcmiller3848 yes! I have seen many videos on UA-cam that say you shouldn’t charge your phone to 100%,,, But if you have Stand By Mode on all night,,,?

I really don't understand why Apple makes us charge the iphone in order to utilize standby mode ???? Why can't we just turn it horizontal on a stand without having to charge !! I think then people would use it a lot more
Probably they want to sell more magsafe chargers, but also keeping the screen on drains the battery so it’s really the only practical option. Also people would get quite confused by it if they flipped their phone while consuming content and it switched to standby.
Does widget mode work at night? I have mine set for time ( digital time) left screen -temperature ( right side). After a bit of time goes dark and all I see when I gesture is faint outline of a conventional clock.
I like Standby mode so much; I'm using it for 95% of the time in day or night mode. But how safe is that for the battery? Even though it's on a magsafe charger? Worried about expanding batteries; so now I try to put it on a plain stand for some period of the day but of course that kills Standby Mode. Your thoughts?

It doesn’t get talked about or used as much since Apple bricked it for any phone before iPhone 14.Considering so many people still use the 12, many people don’t give a hoot about standby mode.
Jude standby mode but I just have it shows the time. My iPhone screen is too small to have a bunch of widgets on it. I wear glasses and when I first wake up I don’t have my glasses on so everything is blurry. The only thing I can make out is the time. I have a iPad Pro 12” as well and I’m not understanding why standby isn’t on my iPad Pro. It would be perfect for standby, with it’s larger screen it would be easy to see everything like the time, date, calendar, just all the things you need to see for the start of the day. Apple needs to enable standby on the iPad.
in 6:48 did you just say that the H and L in the weather meaning the one in the morning and the one in the evening. Correct me if I am wrong but those stand for H: High, L: Low.
Well, yeah it means high and low… but also the lowest temperature will be at night and the highest temperature will be during the day… so he isn’t wrong
My iPhone is at 17.6.1 but does not show any other options under the StandBy --- Display settings other than a toggle to turn on or off the Night Mode. No way to set the amount of time the widget shows the info on the screen? This must have something to do with the iPhone version. I own an older XS Max so I guess this feature is only available on later iPhones.
I have my iPhone 16 pro set to always on but when using it as an alarm clock at night it shuts off sometime around 3 am. I am assuming this is when it becomes fully charged. Anyone else have a fix for this?

I can’t understand why I just purchase a new iPhone 16 on iOS 18.1 and I do not have the display option in standby mode settings. So my always on keeps turning off after 30 seconds. Is this because I transferred my data from my previous iPhone 13?
🐬 You missed the fact that you can get the Control Centre by pulling down from right top. Which in iOS 18 gives you a lot of access to music, Home etc. The only thing is that you can not unlock the iPhone by swiping up.
Maybe someday, but keep in mind that iPads are very heavy compared to iPhones, therefore no MagSafe, therefore no StandBy. “Sure,” you might say, “just plug it in” but unless you have a stand for your iPad, it would be pointless.
Is it possible to disable face ID (auth) to interact with homekit accessories in standby mode? Nothing is more annoying than getting out of bed in the middle of the night to authenticate, at that point you just pick up the phone and open the homekit app defeating the purpose of the feature. It should have the option to be a simple tap, no auth particularlly when you're in bed.
@@micleeso I’ve been googling this same thing every few weeks since standby mode launched. Its cheap of Apple to not let us use standby on any iPhone. Since the phone is plugged in and charging for this to work its not a battery thing, but an apple tax thing. Every navigation app can keep the display on while in use. Why can’t we have the option to have standby on like that even on non Pro phones if we want to?
It's the screens. The pro models have "pro-motion" which can change the screen refresh rate from as high as 120hz to as low as 1hz. When they go into AOD or StandBy, they dip to super low refresh rate so it doesn't drain the battery or make the phone hot. Non-pro screens are just 60hz any time the screen is on. I don't think those screens can dim as low as the 120hz screens either. So yeah, I'd imagine that battery health, screen burn, and heat all play into why they won't do it with the 60hz screens.
@@stephencooper3583 Hi! While all points are logical what doesn’t make sense is that i can use turn by turn navigation for hours on end with ANY iPhone if i want to.
