  • I had FitcamX make me a new harness with +12V available for the parking sensor. Before you had to make your own harness using the Toyota part # 90980-12366 or run a wire to the fuse panel. This utilizes the factory dash camera connector.

    Didn't your rear camera cable cross directly over the front passenger windshield column curtain airbag? Edit: Ah, I see you already addressed this question...

    Looks very clean, great job! Is the dashcam hardwired with your method? Will the wiring path interfere with airbags? Thank you!

      Thank you. It is hard wired into the accessory plug above the mirror. Fitcamx made me the harness, but you can make your own. I am not concerned about the wire placement but I encourage you to do your own research and do what's best for you.

      I’m a bit confused. So would it work without the harness? I don’t really get why the harness isn’t included in the base kit. Thank you for your time!

      There is a harness in the base kit, but it does not have power available all the time to use the parking lot mode.

    Hey Eli, thanks for the video! Super helpful! I got a 70mai brand camera, with the parking surveillance cable, but they are separated with acc, vcc and ground cables rather than the connect I could plug into the blue socket. Do you happen to know the name of the type of the connector?

      90980-12366 is the Toyota part number. You also need to buy the pins. If you search sienna accessory plug on siennachat there are write ups.

      thanks a lot. So the blue connector they highlighted has power even when vehicle turned off and thats why i need 15ft Micro USB & Mini USB Dash Cam &Type-C Hardwire Kit to prevent battery drain and this also works in parking mode when there is impact?

    How did you go about getting that power wire harness made for you? Can I purchase it? I have a 2023 Sienna as well. Thanks for your time

      First I would email info@fitcamx.com and ask if they are in production yet. They paid for my connector and shipping to get it to China, which shipping on a tiny package alone was $17.

    Did you have to disconnect battery before doing this work?

    • @eliworks8549
      @eliworks8549  9 місяців тому

      You should follow all safety procedures from the instructions. I however just plugged it in. There's no splicing or disconnecting anything in this case.
