I like the beat, also like the pic, what I call his king Louis the XIV look,it is the era when Prince 💕was the Number one Rock/pop artist, bar None at the time....💕💕❤️..A👍👍👍up..
This That Purple Funk 🤘🏾. Pure Music, Which we don't have today. Prince really screwed the world up in a good way, he made sure to leave his FOOTPRINTS & All The Purple Gang
Probably, if this was recorded with the Revolution while on tour. If it was recorded with Prince showing it to The Time, which seems less likely, it could be Terry Lewis or just Prince I suppose. My bet is Mark.
Love the rehearsal recordings - thanks 4 this! Do u have any more details on this recording’s origins? Also, I didn’t know Summertime Thing existed way back then. Good stuff!
As far as I know from Duane Tudhal’s book and Prince Vault, My Summetime Thang was initially recorded in March of ‘83. I believe this was recorded during 1999 tour rehearsals or tour break around the same time - spring ‘83.
@@PressRewindPrinceLyricsPodcast Just went I thought I heard all of Prince's funkiest live jams, I find another goldmine! for uploading! Good God! this is funky!🔥🔥🔥🔥💜
Brownmark was PRINCE'S FUNKIEST bass player in my opinion.
Agreed. I love Prince's funk above every other genre. Mark is wicked with it
Andre for me
I’m with you on Brown Mark! Now that we’re seeing the Revolution Live without Prince, you can see how much of a beast Brown Mark is on Bass
I can hear Mark all through this jam, funky Brown mark!! Controversy still gets play 🎹

It’s mind-blowing that this is 40+ years old. It’ll hold up for eternity and beyond…
This is the music from "the latest fashion" on the Graffiti Bridge Album
Elements of Latest Fashion were pulled from My Summertime Thang, for sure.
Thank you, I’ve been trying to figure that out since this first posted!
Slap Bass Bang

I just picked up the Small Club volume 1/2 on vinyl ❤❤❤❤
Ice Cream Castles was surely inspired by Summertime. The chord structure and the groove is pretty similar to the final version.
That bass is slamming’. Brown Mark?

Wow the fact The Latest Fashion is on here is crazy.
Organs are dope! Who be the organ grinder? LOL
Not certain. Could be Prince, could be Fink, could be Jam or Monte.
@@PressRewindPrinceLyricsPodcast Or Lisa!
Most likely Lisa and Fink! :)
