A saying I heard once is its better to make $5 from 3 different people than $15 from 1 person. Surely if they make the prices cheaper it would make more people pay for them, plus with cheaper prices it would make people get pissed at OW less, and bring in new players/keep old players from leaving. I get they need to make money so they can afford hiring everyone to update the game. But theres got to be a better way. As Winston said to all of us in 2016 "Someone has to do something, we have to do something!"
I can at least understand the collab ones being this much, since they should be paying the collaborator. Which DOES imply standard legendaries should be cheaper. Which would A) make collabs more special B) let more people get the standard shop stuff C) probably get more people buying, which is a company's goal
Oh and there are no regional prices in the game, so 7500 coins costs 1800 UAH in Ukraine (50$ like everywhere else I think). These are insane prices for country with average monthly salary something like 430$
one interesting thing about the tracer skin is that there is a new sound effect played while recalling, im surprised these kinds of quirks aren't* more explicitly mentioned while viewing the skin in game. similar with EDM Dva shift & ult playing music and Jazzy Lucio having custom crossfade music. these features to me can be just as valuable as the gun model on the skin itself.
As an Animator, I can confidently say that 4/5 of those emotes are 100% the same. They simply made one, then applied the preset to the other characters
68 bucks! I could feed my family for a few days at that price! The D4 skins are quite ridiculously expensive as well. It's sad how expensive cosmetics are nowadays 😢
That’s cheap man’s . If you want all 5 hero’s with there emotes it’s gonna cost you 125$. 68 bucks is a steal. And hey if you not gonna buy all the skin just buy the 25$ one
it's only expensive because people keep buying it despite how overpriced it is because it is "the norm" with the industry. this will only keep getting worse because the stupid people buying it are showing blizzard it's working despite how high the price is.
That's not fair to say because most of the players are casual that just want a skin and don't care about much else in the gaming world. Blizzard just choose to ignore the vocal minority.
@StillChewy it's exactly fair lol, if these dweebs cry about overpriced skins but still buy them, then Blizaard will ramp the prices and keep taking the piss
If you look at them as overwatch skin, they are incredibly expensive. If you look at them as k-pop spin-off fan service, they are actually priced as expected. Just ask your Korean friend how much a k-pop fan is willing to pay lol
Remember when Overwatch let you earn the skins by playing the game? You know... before they started taking advantage of us all. The skin bundle costs more than a full price game. AN ENTIRE GAME.
The good times have passed, get used to it. Every company wants to make much money. And actually, I wouldn't mind to pay the developers for the game 20-30$ for a bundle, but I know that my money won't go to the developers, who really makes the game. My money will go to the Kotick type person's wallet and then he will buy another yacht. In conclusion: its so sad, that the most part of money the game obtains, doesn't support the game.
Loved to think so but kpop industry sometimes means the idols don’t actually get much, instead it goes mostly to the agency (might not be in this case tho just something to think about)

This is a first-person shooter where u spend a good chunk of the game either only being able to see your two hands and weapons, or your dead corpse on the ground. You are essentially buying stuff that you cant see and appreciate in-game. Sometimes i really dont get humans....and im human myself
Just imaging how many of these super bundles they could have sold if it was only 20-25 bucks. People would be taking their wallets out and charging their credit cards by involuntarily reaction before their brains even caught up to realize they now have five new skins.
Even if they break even by selling for less, its far more consumer friendly as more of your players get to enjoy the skins. I'm getting the distinct feeling they dont care about distributing it to as many as possible. That means they have to worry about retaining players to keep selling in bulk. Instead they are trying to snag some whales that will then be hooked and continue to spend more and more absurd amounts of money to keep their collection of skins complete.
To be honest, in my opinion, I think that skins should be from a range of 5 to 10 dollars, so it would sell more, if it had like animations of FX added on then or anything else, 15 dollars would be a good price, but 65 dolars is too much, even if it is a pack.
I think in January they are going to announce overall price cuts on the store skins as a direct edict from their new boss. What changes in the Battle Pass then? The only thing I can think of is making Battle Pass non-expiring like Halo Infinite and then offer all the previous seasons for purchase for anyone who missed out on them.
Hahaha. Unless reducing prices is going to make them more profit, Microsoft is going to push this monetization method harder and harder. Why would they not chase after profits?
I personally draw the line for skins at $10. Ain't no way a cosmetic that gives you no extra gameplay mechanics is worth more than $10. If they were to actually put reasonable prices on these skins, I'm sure thousands more would actually buy them which in turn makes them more money.
Ey atleast you spend ur money else where or better save alot good on u iwish i could break free from my battlepass shop games plus i play gacha games 😂
So to be fair the bundle is a good value (for overwatch). $50 for the pack with 800 coins left over, that's $10 per skin and emote. That's good by Overwatch standards which are normally $20 per legendry. With that said I'm still not drooping $50 for it.
The justification use by Blizzard’s defenders is that the price tag is meant to pay for better content, and that’s the trap, the trick. That “content” is just more paid content, and lack luster PvE.
@TrueOracle Yeah, that's why tons of games offer cosmetics through progression, because they don't need to be valued with real money I'd rather earn my cosmetics than swipe my card, it's far more satisfying that way
@@AzureRoxeWorth is not a factual matter and more a matter of prespective. People value things differently and every game I played since yesterday had people rocking the new skins so that is what the market demands right now and blizzard would be stupid not to service these people.

Tbh i’ve played p2w games and games with skins prize tag. However blizzard currency system and deal was suck because i think they half half with the pricing. Just mask off blizzard, go all out with skin selling like valorant, or back with loot box like ow1
In game currency needs basic regulation. There should be a clear conversion rate to real currency. And you should be able to purchase exact quantities. Or just make the whole thing illegal. Imagine if any other industry refused legal tender and made you buy credits
You're only one of very few Overawatch content creators I watch that DOESN'T openly promote whale behavior while getting free packs on the side, and I appreciate you for that!✌
The only skin I was planning to buy this season was the zombie doctor mercy skin, but blizzard seem to have forgotten to add it to the store 🤷♂️ I suppose I you use the coin deal for the next 6 battlepasses it works out quite good.
I expected the price with it being licensed content, but if you don't play any of these heroes then you're basically out of luck. Plus it's the same ones again, Dva just had a collab with Gentle Monster, and Kiriko had One Punch Man. Sure you could argue one is Korean so it fits the collab, it still would have been nice to see other heroes get some love, Mei or Illari getting K-pop outfits would have been lit.
It would've been more worth it if these where like mythic skins were you can customize their outfits or color & add more to the bundle than MAYBE they would've been more worth it but right now its a scam
Seeing this, honestly makes me fine with leaving the game. I like those skins, I just can't justify paying the price (even if I was still playing). Or supporting the greed of the company. Hopefully blizz can right the ship eventually
How much do you want to bet that Bobby K. is just suddenly increasing the price of skins like "Welp, I may as well do as much as I can before I step down."
You just know the handful of whales and then some already dumped their coffers to get these overpriced skins. That said, Im trying to figure out how Stylosa acquired 10k with of currency.
The biggest issue is that the players who will buy those skins will NEVER SEE THEM WHILST IN A MATCH, (it's a first-person video with a game) only the others will have an ultra-quick glimpse at them.
On one hand, to Blizzard's credit, the skins are very well designed and highly detailed. On the other hand, however, the pricing is yet again way too aggressive and predatory. Overwatch is a game I'd really like to come back to but I just can't bring myself to supporting such awful monetization.
What about playing without buying skins? Granted, there isn't really any progression in the game other than the battle pass (and ranked), so it probably would get stale after a while of not spending any money.
the price is a joke. also they said in a devblog that they would make some of the more desireable skins earnable...and what happened? they gave us a (in my opinion) bad junkrat skin and left all the good ones for people like me unreachable...nice work blizzard edit: i love the game and will keep playing it but it would be nice if we could get a couple more coins for the weekly challenges. otherwise 2 years of grinding for these skins
I think they thought they could get away with this cause of Valorant expensive skins, but in that game you get kill VFX etc, etc. In OW however you first of all can't even see your own character and there's rarely any special VFX in skins.
Honestly if these expensive skins had custom animations or sound effects it would make the value for them shot up in my opinion; valorant is a good example because they’re bundles are super expensive but you are ALWAYS looking at them, not just in the character select menu, and they have custom animations, examine animations, sounds, kill effects, kill streak effects, and typically also come with a new custom knife skin that has custom animations as well. These OW skins are certainly high quality but they don’t have anything that truly makes them stand out like valorant bundles do
This game franchise will be driven into the ground. Then when OW3 flops, suits and devs will say 'I guess the community dont want Overwatch anymore' and that will be that. No one will realise or take responsibility for their awful consumer marketing practices
Yeah but people don't want to acknowledge this, they just wanna say "Omg blizzard!" rather than realise that this is normal skin pricing in these sorts of games lol. Its always fine in other games except OW with these folks
I don't get how people can even argue for these skins. It's a fps and you don't see your skin....what? You can see it in the menu or potg if you're lucky? Get real people
I know the monetization of these skins sucks as a concept, but I gotta say their marketing team sure knows that I am a weak magpie with an income and stress twice my salary.
I was interested in these skins because they looked great. Haven't been playing OW recently but its one of those games I seem to take longs breaks with but never actually fully quit. Decided I'd pick up the Brig skin because if I don't get it now it'll be gone forever. When I got on and saw the prices it just turned me off so much. Bliz is just asking too much for them and I just turned the game off.
Lol called it! This collab was crap already for those who dont care about K-pop (me and friends). Now they are priced in typical Blizz fashion. Sad Blizz
I always feel very down with every update, because the complementary content is genuinely fantastic, but I know I will never find it in me to buy them because of how ridiculously expensive they are in due part of the F2P tag. This means that no matter how much stuff they add to the game, I will never be excited by the items, knowing they are going to be utterly pricey. Out of most of the stuff I've seen in the shop, the Retrowave Tracer bundle from earlier this summer really hit the deepest, because I adore that style despite its epic quality, but yet again, being a shop item with a bundle price that was in the 15-20$ range (if memory serves), I just couldn't justify the value. Expecting fair change to their approach to monetization might never happen. The content drought before OW2 meant we "had" to take the pricey shop as a compromise. Still, let's keep voicing our opinions, otherwise there will be a clear and obstacle-free road for them to keep pricing the items in this range.
It absolutely will sell despite how overpriced it is. I have to admit that I also thought really hard about it because of how flashy everything was. I just had to tell myself that it's an in-game cosmetic and when this game eventually dies, that purchase goes with it.
This is like a textbook case of how to play people into buying things… “but look at the Value! It’s only 70 dollars for 5 virtual skins and some accessories! And if I buy now I can get it for 50$ instead!! What a STEAL!”

This. Blizzard would NOT do this if they couldn't get away with it.

My money will go to the Kotick type person's wallet and then he will buy another yacht.
In conclusion: its so sad, that the most part of money the game obtains, doesn't support the game.
Remember the time that you could get these skins for free and it bankrupted the OW team so they had to stop adding content?
Whos "Us"? I haven't payed for a single thing except using the ingame earned currency 😂

😂😂
Just imaging how many of these super bundles they could have sold if it was only 20-25 bucks. People would be taking their wallets out and charging their credit cards by involuntarily reaction before their brains even caught up to realize they now have five new skins.
Indeed
Even if they break even by selling for less, its far more consumer friendly as more of your players get to enjoy the skins. I'm getting the distinct feeling they dont care about distributing it to as many as possible. That means they have to worry about retaining players to keep selling in bulk. Instead they are trying to snag some whales that will then be hooked and continue to spend more and more absurd amounts of money to keep their collection of skins complete.
If we still had lootboxes I would grind the heck out of this event but now I don't even have any reason to start the game...
I always thought that overwatch would be better in third person mostly because you actually get to see the crap you buy.
Its crazy how before you could get all the skins for free in the past as long as you played the game but now you gotta spend $20 to get a good skin
High hopes. Hopefully Microsoft changes this shit

I am still confused that there are people out there on various platforms, that think that this is ok...
Sadly can not justify spending that money on virtual character skins

You're not the type of cetacean that the skins are meant for
So to be fair the bundle is a good value (for overwatch). $50 for the pack with 800 coins left over, that's $10 per skin and emote. That's good by Overwatch standards which are normally $20 per legendry. With that said I'm still not drooping $50 for it.
Yeah it's good buy online game. I'm not buying them buts it not that bad.
If a skin is $10, that means that a game like GTA, which features thousands of skins would be worth around £10k. Skins are worth no more than 6p
No. Skins should be like a pound or something. 50 dollars for skins is not value.
I really like the sombra skin, it looks amazing but that prize tho...

Pros: Nothing

The justification use by Blizzard’s defenders is that the price tag is meant to pay for better content, and that’s the trap, the trick. That “content” is just more paid content, and lack luster PvE.

On one hand, to Blizzard's credit, the skins are very well designed and highly detailed. On the other hand, however, the pricing is yet again way too aggressive and predatory. Overwatch is a game I'd really like to come back to but I just can't bring myself to supporting such awful monetization.

I think they thought they could get away with this cause of Valorant expensive skins, but in that game you get kill VFX etc, etc. In OW however you first of all can't even see your own character and there's rarely any special VFX in skins.
They think they have paladins skins lol
