as a reaper main i luv this, He seems like a lot of fun and rewards you for being really aggressive while still being tactical and needing a fair amount of intelligence
The healing ability is arguably the best healing ability in the game. Pairing it with any ult makes the person ulting virtually unkillable. I hit two people at once with reaper with it and healed from 50HP to 250 in a quarter second and never dropped below 240 after that, because it also gives you damage reduction. From what I can tell, the healing is ~52% of the damage you deal and the resistance is around 25-35%. Tracer bomb takes her from 1 health to full. A single headshot from Widow/Hanzo brings them to full health. Genji heals 45-60 health per swing in his blade. Though, percentile damage (such as Sombra EMP and Gravitic Flux) don't seem to do as much healing. The pickup on Gravitic Flux did more healing to Sigma than the landing. Interesting stuff
This character might get me back into the game after months of disappointment Edit: I ain’t giving Blizzard my money till they actually keep their promises. F2P all the way
cardiac overdrive allows him and nearby teammates to gain back regular (white) health when dealing any kind of damage, so if they’re already at full health there won’t be any health to gain! his passive ability is that he gains temporary (green) health whenever dealing crits
@@millionshadesofdarkness2165 bro people were calling for illari nerfs on day 1 too. U don’t need months of data to know that a 0.2 second ttk in a game with an awerage ttk of 0.8 seconds is insanely busted.

He's honestly the perfect mix between Bastion and Wrecking Ball. Deals a huge amount of damage in a short amount of time like Bastion but is tanky and can control a crowd like Wrecking Ball.
I like the early access play, I think it would be healthy to do this with every new hero for the entire community to play test so when they actually release the hero it's more balanced
An Ashe paired with him is going to go crazy. His Ult imo is busted 9 seconds is a little too long for it, and yes enemies can walk inside of it after he has cast it.
I believe we had this concept for a wile now. Remember the archive event where we played the blackwatch team?, remember the large boss with twin miniguns that could charge at you? I can only hope they have the same skin for him from that same event
Roadhog is actually a really good counter to him. whole hog shreds him and his ult, he can hook him into your team and maugas hitbox is so big that it absorbs all of hogs pellets
@@ghoulbuster1 Played hog against mauga like 5 times and yeah he does a lot of damage, but if you use cover and hook him into your team he's kinda fucked. especially if you bait his charge

I wasn't sure if they could do it, but damn the new Overwatch team is killing it with the hero design still. Mauga and Illari are both awesome additions to the cast
agree. you can feel that the developers are having a good time designing new heroes and the ones since 2's release has all had much thoughts placed before designing them.
The reasom why the special effects for his ult is so small is cause the game has been slowing down for some people since tree of life started appearing cause the game is going crazy with the particle effects, so hopefully the game wont break if there are 2 trees of life at the same time cause there usually are some huge drops when that happens
Since he seems to have a unique passive, I wonder if other tanks will be getting unique passives for themselves, something that might make tank fun again.

He’s literally going to counter Annihilation really well. Once Ram pops annihilation Mauga can trap him inside, preventing him from getting to his allies while potentially melting him or his team if anyone comes to contest him inside. Also I heard that Lifeweaver can pull Mauga outside of his Cage so he can quite literally trap an entire enemy team and denying them space while also getting to a safe place with the help of LW. Overall, great hero concept and I’m excited to see how he plays out. Really excited for the future of Overwatch!
Careful when you charge and pop ult it will cancel your charge to prioritize the Ult and when you do your stomp let your stomp happen first or else it will cancel upon landing the ground and the damage won’t come out
A slap in the face to literally every other tank in the game, but Rein most of all. Damn. OP as hell. Love him, but hate that he will force the Meta around him until they nerf him into the dirt from all the backlash because he'll be the singular play him or lose, tank pick.
hes really vulnerable tho, with no protection abilities he has to constantly fight to gain overhealth and you can easily bait him into battle and anti him Or just shred him from highground, i dunno
Wonder if his ULT can be destroyed by Sombras ULT. I am expecting some form of nerf to mauga before his release to competitive. 1. Dmg nerf: His damage output is pretty high. 1 gun does 90dmg/s. 2 does 180dmg/s. If one gun crits its 270dmg/s. If he shoots headshots its 360dmg/s. They will either decrease the dmg, crit multiplier or bullet spread if his damage seems too high. 2. Unable to be CC: Would not be surprised if they made his charge cancellable by CC upon release to competitive. So far there has not been a tank with a movement ability that can block CC. If they choose to keep it that way, there is a possibility they remove his inability to be CC during charge.
Im my oppinion this guy and torb are going to pair well together, when he pops the cardiac thing torbs turret is going to be dealing damage so torbs always going to be healing and when you get trapped in a death match with torb he can just ult the floor and kill everyone one inside
Yeah same always so funny with this game when some characters are so OP they always have to keep updating the game and tweaking every character wish they could actually do it right since when one character is too OP it breaks the game even more
@@D1Thornas I Rein main I am just liking him more and more. It feels worse to play as him with this power creep but just like in his story we are doing this for the glory
I like that hes available early for a day. It will also help blizzard because then they can rework/bug fix for his actual release. Also a bug I found with him is that if you run out of ammo and then ult, you will auto reload even though you have infinite ammo
Does the game know the difference between different burning sources? Do you think Mauga could get the health Regen if Ashe dynamite or Torb molten core burns someone?
So about his ult: try to treat "Trapped" as a new CC ability. When Mauga on team A initiates his ult, he and the enemies can get the trapped effect. Anyone can walk in his ult, but the Trapped ones can not walk out. In other words, Mauga's teammates can walk in and walk out, but Mauga and the enemy team can only walk in - but can't leave. I might be wrong about the enemies walking in though - but I played one game against Mauga where I believe I wasn't trapped at first, but then I accidentally jumped into his ult from above (somehow??). Also as kiri you can teleport into his ult in any case so I bet she's not the only one who can get in in one way or another.
Mauga in his current state is absolutely busted. Easily the strongest hero since release state brig. his primary heals him overhealth, he deals CRITS FROM BODY SHOTS AFTER SHOOTING FOR UNDER 1SEC has like 2sec TTK on 600hp tanks, has dmg to heal aura as normal ability, has stronger rein charge, has ult that is pretty much 100% certain fight win. he is a beast, so of course just because he is out for 1 day he wont come out in state like this when he finally releases.
I just played Brig two games and he didnt do shit. Cant kill through inspire and whip shot invalidates his entire life. He's no where close to Brig even after 20+ nerfs she got
finally a tank that can counter pharah cuz the closest tank which i can kill pharah with and thats without a mercy is jq and maybe orisa but with her slow projectiles i miss most of my shots.
To add some info, when you activate cardiac overdrive dealing damage, both your allies AND you, heal an amount, I assume some percentage that I'm unaware of very similar to reaper's passive. Obviously the self healing plus the crit over health makes him incredibly tanky.
fun think they did for once allowing everyone to try the new hero like that.. 24h seems a bit short though if you don't follow closely news about the game. But he looks like a fun tank. Somewhat limited in term of ability.. he's sort of like a rein with guns it feels like it but the double mini gun, the cage ult and all, looks like we'll have some ridiculous potg in there.. As for being able to shoot through his ult outside, that really feels like a bug though despite probably not being a bug.. like unless you want to trap like a mercy and rekt her in 1v1 before she escape during a rez or something, I see myself using it to lock enemy team outside of it as I'm capping the point and shooting them through it, which honestly will feel like crap to be on the other side.. so hopefully they'll fix that and keep it as a 1v "X" kind of cage
He looks amazing and so worth the hype but from what I've seen so far, I think this just shows the previous support "nerfs" were not nerfs at all. Ana/Bap/Kiri are going to more relevent than ever with his release. So yea, nerfing LW the most wasn't the way to go.
No idea but if so, he can only pull ONE person. Now lifting people over his ult is another question but I'd imagine you can't cause of the chains. @@SweetTaleTeller
I find mauga to be pretty balanced, hard to play and fun at the same time. His weakness is pretty easy to exploit though, so some fights end up with him dying too fast which is probably frustrating for the people playing him.
He seems like a weird fusion of rein, Orisa, Doom, and JQ. Doesn’t change the fact he looks super fun. Hopefully they don’t pull an Illari and nerf the hell out of him later.
@user-wx5zf7tz3k being healed on top of it makes me worried. Can't play atm though. But at least he's a brawler and seems to be countered by some pretty normal heroes. He looks like a dps character 🤣 he will probably be a blast

This character might get me back into the game after months of disappointment
Edit: I ain’t giving Blizzard my money till they actually keep their promises. F2P all the way

cardiac overdrive allows him and nearby teammates to gain back regular (white) health when dealing any kind of damage, so if they’re already at full health there won’t be any health to gain! his passive ability is that he gains temporary (green) health whenever dealing crits
He honestly looks amazing with the exception of his healing. That might need touching up.

this is Raum...from Paladins, just with the interesting minigun mixing, Raum broke paladins enough for waves of people to leave till they nerfed him into the ground i cant imagine this hero will go well, he also looks much different from what I thought he'd be probably had to make him ugly to sell us more $50 cosmetics
He's honestly the perfect mix between Bastion and Wrecking Ball. Deals a huge amount of damage in a short amount of time like Bastion but is tanky and can control a crowd like Wrecking Ball.
Sounds like a hero i will enjoy using because I love both bastion and wrecking ball

New team? I've been away from the game and its community for a year or so. Looks like I've missed a lot.
agree. you can feel that the developers are having a good time designing new heroes and the ones since 2's release has all had much thoughts placed before designing them.
U can use his ultimate to block basically everything in the game, it's so damn good. Lucio plus this guy with Baptist will be the meta
i can see that.
Why does "What can I say except "You're welcome?" starts to play in my head
The reasom why the special effects for his ult is so small is cause the game has been slowing down for some people since tree of life started appearing cause the game is going crazy with the particle effects, so hopefully the game wont break if there are 2 trees of life at the same time cause there usually are some huge drops when that happens
I look at the new hero once and think of "What can I say except YOUR WELCOME!"
Literally came to the comments section for this
I love how is ult is anti-stall, not enough of it in the game. I’m gonna get so much satisfaction from trapping wrecking balls in it.
just from the selection screen, u can tell he's full of personality, and he his model looks so well made. 10/10
Since he seems to have a unique passive, I wonder if other tanks will be getting unique passives for themselves, something that might make tank fun again.
Like junkerqueen and zarya?
It's almost the same passive doom has

The ult actually takes people into it when they walk into it. Played a couple of games with him and used it as a huge barrier most of the time.
The Raum of Overwatch. Finally.
That ult at the end of push is gonna be insane. Imagine trapping the enemy team in spawn while your team pushes
Just using it in any choke point.
Ball and rein makes mauga
His charge from rein
The slam on his jump is pile drive
The guns obviously ball
The shields more doomfist but its the same for ball kinda since ball gets more shields more enemies so yea this
He’s literally going to counter Annihilation really well.
Lifeweaver could pull him out bringing him back too heal him
@@Beaniebro45That’s literally what I said but okay. 😂🤣
Careful when you charge and pop ult it will cancel your charge to prioritize the Ult and when you do your stomp let your stomp happen first or else it will cancel upon landing the ground and the damage won’t come out
He’s definitely gonna be my main, I’ve always asked for a tank with just a machine gun and luckily Mauga is that character.
People hate CC.
Bliz: CCEveryone!
People hate 2 cp
Bliz: triple CP!!
A slap in the face to literally every other tank in the game, but Rein most of all. Damn. OP as hell. Love him, but hate that he will force the Meta around him until they nerf him into the dirt from all the backlash because he'll be the singular play him or lose, tank pick.
Lol you're weird, dude. Massive assumptions when the character literally hasn't even been officially released yet.
he gets destroyed by reaper and bastion harder than hog does
hes really vulnerable tho, with no protection abilities he has to constantly fight to gain overhealth and you can easily bait him into battle and anti him
Or just shred him from highground, i dunno
If they choose to keep it that way, there is a possibility they remove his inability to be CC during charge.
its boring with this new tank hero, and he is pretty strong in the def side
Im my oppinion this guy and torb are going to pair well together, when he pops the cardiac thing torbs turret is going to be dealing damage so torbs always going to be healing and when you get trapped in a death match with torb he can just ult the floor and kill everyone one inside
I got a feeling we're gonna see allot if ashe - mauga team comps...
As someone that’s been waiting for Mauga for years at this point, this doesn’t disappoint.
If they ever go back to 2 tanks i might get back on and try this guy
Wayyy too much damage in that primary fire, they're gonna nerf that to the ground. Pocketed by a mercy too???? I can already see the problems
Yeah same always so funny with this game when some characters are so OP they always have to keep updating the game and tweaking every character wish they could actually do it right since when one character is too OP it breaks the game even more

If he does that's really cool synergy
it probably will synergize
It works with Ashe and Torb
it would be dumb and unintuitive if it didn't. plus it would create anti-synergy with those heroes.
Tested, can confirm ash + mauga is busted
This is just Raum from Paladins. I loved playing Raum. Raum sounds more fun, but this is an acceptable Raum copy.
I'm in love. As a ball lover his gun definitely appeals to me and his abilities are fire!
He isn't too strong, you must have played vs bronze

finally a tank that can counter pharah cuz the closest tank which i can kill pharah with and thats without a mercy is jq and maybe orisa but with her slow projectiles i miss most of my shots.
Ok but can LW pull people out of his ult?
