    Vendetta plus is superior as it contains an insect growth regulator as well as a low-toxicity active ingredient. I have been a pest management professional for 11 years and it is my go-to. I have used Advion, Maxforce and Alpine but nothing comes close to the Vendetta. For heavy infestations I rotate with Vendetta Nitro which contains the IGR and a newer active ingredient which is necessary to manage resistances, which may happen with larger infestations. Use with Zenprox mixed with Tekko Pro concentrate mixed by label directions for enhanced control.

      I am a pest control tech, MOST of my monthly treatments that I have to keep going back to is just for the simple fact they don't clean up after themselves. sometimes its a help me, help you situation. I work for a family owned company though. We truly HATE having to come back month to month when the homeowner isn't helping us by keeping food on the counter for weeks at a time. Our #1 goal is to actually get rid of them, we don't try to prolong treatments. That's just a bad taste in business, and all our advertising is word of mouth by our current customers. I received mine from Amazon on February 28 and put it around my kitchen in my 100 year old Orlando home and I almost immediately started seeing an improvement. I had been seeing tiny baby German roaches as well as adults for several months. I tried baits and sprays and diatomaceous earth but kept seeing them. Thanks for your great video! I wish you lived near me! Throwing balls w/the Alpine gel throughout the attic is a great idea. A while back, I did something similar with Harris tablets to try to get rid of smoky brown flying monsters that were living in the attic of the house I bought. I also put Advion around the little door that opens from the attic to the upstairs bedroom, and they left smear marks all over it and the white baseboards in the bedroom (horrible), but I only saw one dead one in a trap. That bedroom remains unused two years later.
    I now saw a dying German roach on my kitchen floor, something I had never seen in my whole life, even after living most of my life in FL. My nightmare began after moving to a wooded area in South Carolina. I'm now going to try the Alpine per your recommendations. EDIT: NOT a German roach, an Asian one that flew into my hair one night after I went outside for a couple minutes, and I came running inside, screaming, lol, finally knocking it out. It disappeared and showed up on my kitchen floor the next morning. So I feel much better about that!I Phew!

    I discovered by accident Rubbing alcohol of minimum of 70% ( higher % works better ) kills them dead in a few seconds ( is so satisfying to see then die right in front of your eyes, as they flop on their backs and twitch )
    It is better than poisons because it evaporates quickly and also disinfects! That's all I use now ( you need to have a spray bottle ). I also use home made traps ( non poison ). Take a glass jar ( one that is slanted outward works best like a mayo jar ) coat the inside walls with cooking oil, leaving just a small amount in the bottom ( a few drops is good ). Put a piece of bait in the bottom, and place in a dark area where you see them the most. Check the jars in a day or two, you'll be happy with the result, and dispose of them down the toilet or a container of HOT water, and repeat the process. You should notice a difference in less than two weeks! And yes keep a check on trash, dishes etc. Roaches love wet, dark areas so clean up any liquid and sinks dry. Also it helps to store food, utensils, or what ever goes in your mouth ( in air tight containers )!

    • @Sam-ge1vf

      Yeah I also discovered (because it was the closest thing to me) that seventh generation dish soap kills them LOL It's supposed to be a "clean" brand so idk how it kills them.

    • @NIGHTOWL-jf9zt
      @NIGHTOWL-jf9zt 3 роки тому +1

      @@Sam-ge1vf Dish soaps kill a lot of insects like spiders, wasps, hornets, ROACHES, etc. Soap is what is known as a suffacantant. 1, it's heavy to the insect. 2, it coats their body and plugs up their breathing holes ( most insects breathe through the abdomen ). 3, it contains Lye ( an acid ). The Alcohol kills because it basically freezes them to death. Ever notice the cooling effect when you spray it on your own skin? Any way, thumbs up! Have a good day...John.

    That's not going to eliminate the problem from what i understand. They live in the walls and some survive this. Also, you are supposed to alternate baits (with different pesticides) periodically. Insect growth regulator is also important if you want to control the problem. My understanding is that, if you actually want to get rid of roaches, you would need to drill into the walls and put boric acid in there in addition to baiting. Otherwise, some will survive each bait treatment and they will live in the walls. Then they keep showing up again because they never all went away.

    • @DustyShowers
      @DustyShowers  2 роки тому +1

      I’ll give you the bait…we only use Alpine WSG but the liquid mixing is too complicated for many here. In addition, we will apply boric acid dust to electrical outlets.
      Aside from that, we don’t use anything else. It’s been 30+ years in business and that’s all we do for Germans. And I’ve only used an IGR maybe 15 years ago.

I used to drop them behind stoves and put them in other void spaces for cockroach control. Gel bait though is not effective for treating American Cockroaches, it will kill them but a single American Cockroach can eat a prodigious amount of bait. Granular bait is better for them.

      @@DustyShowers Yep, every situation is different. I won a huge contract for the company I worked for in Baltimore MD. I treated a single block of row houses that had been infested with cockroaches for decades. They had tried more than a dozen pest management companies and nobody could solve the issue. I started with a mix of Phantom and Gentrol and did a spray treatment in the cabinets, under the sinks, in the kitchen and bathrooms. Treated the void space around the dishwasher, I unplugged and pulled out the refrigerator and treated the compressor I removed all the electrical wall socket covers and treated with Delta dust. I treated the entire house's baseboards, where the ceiling meets the wall and corners. When it was all done, I did a little trick that I came up with, I used CB-80 as a flushing agent to force the roaches to come out and run through the freshly treated areas throughout the house. They were gone in 3 days. Bait NEVER would have worked in that situation.

Do you recommend removing all contents of the cabinets, cleaning them and behind, underneath the refrigerator and stove before treating them with bait and spraying? Or not? My wife brought up the point that doing so, would disturb them and cause them to scatter, making it harder to treat them. What are your thoughts?

    • @DustyShowers
      @DustyShowers  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Jordyn, thanks for the question. Bait rotation is always recommended. However, German roaches are typically something that you eliminate, not just manage so rotation may not apply. Meaning, once you get rid of them, they are gone and you do not need to keep baiting. BUT there are those times where there may be a source that you just cannot eliminate...for that, yes, rotate. Advion is also a good choice. You can buy it here: amzn.to/3L1OIaE

      It depends on what you have in your room. If you have a dresser or nightstand you can put a bead on the underside at the corners. You could dab some on the back or where the feet meet the base. Put someone the top corners of your closet door, and in a couple corners inside the closet. If you have shelves, place a dab on underside of shelf in the corners or other places that makes sense.

      Most likely, you had cannibalization from the live remaining, feeding on the dead that had consumed the bait. Which causes the generation of that cannibal roach are highly resistant to what you used. Kinda like bringing bad alcohol to a great party. Switch to Vendetta Plus.

    You mention nothing in regards to competing food sources, you need to clean everything of grease, crumbs, built up food scum in places you have not look at in years, only then will you be successful with baiting. A liquid IGR, aerosol form or capsule form used in conjunction with the bait works well.

      It’s always recommended but most of our clients don’t get things real clean. We also prefer Alpine over bait all day. If there is crust around, spray the crust. Also hit their harborage. A good treatment will overcome competing sources since it is non-repellent and transferable.
