Oh my goodness!! I realized immediately upon seeing the steps that this is naturally what I do whenever I take on a sewing project and THAT’S why I can literally wake up and work nonstop all day, but I haven’t really used that process with my painting and I consistently get distracted and discouraged much more easily while painting! Thanks for the mini enlightenment!
She’s back!! It is good to have you back, getting stronger every week. This is so encouraging. Thank you for being brave and showing vulnerability. You are inspirational and it sends the message. Yes, life can be painful. BUT, you also can press thru, heal, continue to heal and be stronger on the other side. ❤️ You are always insightful, encouraging. and funny. 😄
I'm an art teacher and you keep teaching me things! I love how you talk about the process of painting on such a respectful way to the Work and the artist
I cannot begin to describe how elated I am viewing your videos! I have so many times found myself questioning my direction in my art journey, I find your current videos and paintings bringing me back to my youth! You bring so much energy and truth to your work and your joy in creating is, . . . Well joyful! Thank you for sharing your art life/journey with us. You are truly inspirational, a credit to yourself and let no one ever discourage you from your path. I truly believe that you have a unique voice and I and many others are enriched by YOU and YOUR ART! Please take care and be safe, have a lovely day.
I’m so glad you’re uploading again!! So much insight on your thoughts and advice while painting. Such beautiful paintings. I want to learn to paint landscapes.❤️
I had never heard of focused painting before this and now that I know about it I’m so excited! It’s a new era of paintings for me, thank you for making this video
This painting is awesome. I used to think that I can't paint like big art UA-camrs but i saw all their struggles, constant practice, hardwork and dedication. I saw first post on their channels and saw how they improved, this gave me motivation to learn constantly and to improve daily.
I needed to see this today. I started really trying to slow down and be more intentional with every step I take with my art. As a total beginner that involves a lot of flailing and re-working! But this gives a much more clear picture of what steps to be taking, and how to adapt them to a variety of subjects. Thank you!
I love you! I’m so happy to see that you are still posting! I’m doing a similar painting with the cool rocks for my senior graduate! Your post is perfect and perfect timing for me to get starting! 😅 Thank you. 😘
I feel you straight thru the screen! This was not easy for you 🤗such a hard worker.,working on your "self" And on your art... On becoming Robin😊❤️❤️❤️❤️good job🤗
The splashes of light blues and pinks everywhere make this come to life. This seems like the kind of painting you've striven to grow towards. So great job! It looks amazing as well!
Robin, you really make amazing use of your unique and inspiring blend of artistic talent and determined vulnerability. I think you are a more special person than you know - thank you for sharing your craft and yourself with us :-)
I'm so glad your uploading again! Your art has been such an inspiration for me. It really inspires me to go paint (I haven't had much motivation recently) I hope you are doing great, and I cant wait for more videos!
Good points. I am just a hobbyist, but serious about art and doing my best to improve, working on the basics. My approach is usually rather chaotic and haphazard. I like your more systematic way to plan a drawing/painting. I will try to implement these stages in my next work. Thanks!
Awesome Robin! And i really like Marco Bucci series too: 10 minutes to better painting. They serve me as a reminder of techniques and tools that sometimes you learn and forget to use. Salutes from Argentina. Good to see you back on the road! My best regards for you!
I am so happy you posted. I just started a painting today after weeks. My first time painting on an easel. Feels weird but at least my neck doesn't hurt
Your videos helped and Inspire me so much to make art, thank you for your quirky and useful content Remember to never feel pressured about posting because we all love and support you!!!♥️♥️♥️
Amazing painting. I am going to look at the video a few more times just for your words to sink in. There's definitely valuable and useful information in what you are saying. Thank you Robin 🙏
Your paintings are really good! I recently just got back into painting after 8 years.your videos have taught me alot and hope I can be as good as you are some day
You are such an amazing person and artist and you have taught me soo much, but sadly I dont have many materials, like I dont have paint or brushes but I do have you!!!
You got a really beautiful result with this painting. Im amazed how your work keeps evolving and changing. Do you have any plans to make a series soon?
Hey I'm glad you found Marco Bucci! He's an incredible teacher and was a super nice guy that helped me get started in my career when I talked to him:) he is a master of colors and it's just nice to see how many lives he's been able to influence. small world:)
LOL. What's happening? Is this a giant bathtub situation? I love it! This is a brilliant video. Really good advice. And I love to see a timelapse of a painting start to finish. I'm fascinated by the process of creation. Do you always undertone with sepia or do you change it up based on what you'll be painting? I've been playing around with different undertones, but some version of sepia/ochre/umber is my usual go-to.
Hey Robin! I was wondering what your view/reasoning behind tracing the photo from your laptop was. I’ve always seen tracing as “cheating” but your paintings always look so beautiful and I actually really do struggle sometimes with proportion. So this concept of cheating isn’t the most helpful when I think of how tracing can be beneficial but also is just not what I usually view as “right” so I’m kinda in a weird internal conflict. I was just wondering if you could provide your own explanation because I feel like it could be helpful for me and I just wanna understand more what your views are. Thanks!
halp i turn around to grab my water and a spider is in my cup drinking the water i go in the kitchen for a second and hes out ofthe cup going into the doll house....i think he lives in the doll house mann i dont wana kill derek:D
I wish she was my highschool art teacher... what a cool lady.
I wish she was my art teacher for my whole life
I would like to be in her class 100%
this has to be my favourite comment here because I was thinking the exact same thing

Why do I feel like Robin is trying to impersonate a younger professor Trelawney before she did divination and dabbled in being an art teacher? 😂
I’m so glad you’re uploading again!! So much insight on your thoughts and advice while painting. Such beautiful paintings. I want to learn to paint landscapes.❤️
You're back!! It's so good to see you again! You've been missed 💙

You know that a directional microphone is best put 1-2 metres away from you. No hate
I know it is not that important but I think your microphone is too near to your mouth or shouldn't be that sensitive... The sound is a little bit off.
You’re talking weird compared to your older videos..
