I’m a “car guy” and I just bought a new 2024 Corolla SE and I actually like the CVT. As far as automatic transmissions go it’s among the best I’ve ever used and it perfectly suits the character of the car.
I’ve been a Toyota guy for nearly 30 years. What a great resource is this man for loyal Toyota veterans and newbies alike THANK YOU FOR YOUR DETAILED AND SENSIBLE OBSERVATIONS & ADVICE. Awesome work!
Thanx for this great video. It helped me decide between 2022 Civic and 2022 Corolla SE. I purchased the Corolla SE. The selling point for me was the engine, M20A-FKS. Can not go wrong with it, good power when needed, no carbon buildup, great on gas. I followed your advise and did my 1st oil change after the 1000 miles break in period. This is a good point A to B vehicle. Drives good, very comfortable, priced right. Maybe if we stop trying to compare it with other, twice the price, performance sport cars we appreciate what Corolla has to offer.
I had a 2015 Corolla SE that I liked very much. Ended up trading it in on a 2020 Corolla SE. I’m very impressed with the safety features, fuel mileage and extra power. One thing you didn’t mention is, on the new model has a new chassis with independent rear suspension. I find the ride improved and the car is more planted on the road. Excellent car, great value for the money and reliability is king.
I just got my new 2023 SE. I love it. Looks identical to the one in the video. Silver metallic with black over molds on lettering. Premium package with upgraded mirrors and sun roof.
I bought a 2021 Corolla XSE used with only 5,700 miles. It was an early lease return so literally seems like a new car. I love the power driver’s seat because I’m much shorter than the average guy. I also like the premium JBL Audio System. It drives really nicely. The only option it doesn’t have is advanced lighting package with with footwell lighting and adaptive headlights. People compliment me on having such a nice car. I tell them it’s just a humble Corolla. But they are still impressed. I hope to have this car a long time.
@@serious_in_seattle6917 What does the XSE have that the SE doesn't have or the differences between these two models? This is where it starts to get confusing. I know I don't want a uncomfortable ride on real world public roads that are bumpy or not maintained full of potholes. Don't want a sunroof. Don't want low profile wheels or tires. Don't need everything power. Prefer not to have lots of road and engine noise. Maybe more on luxury soft ride that cushions the bumps in the road but still prefer a 6 spd. manual trans. for a fun sporting ride. Need blind spot warning system. I know I don't want that nightshade cosmetic option.
I used to have an old 03 Lexus, and I went for the 21 Carolla SE and I love it. Keyless entry, push-button start, and all the features that come with Toyota safety sense 2.0 are amazing. I was surprised the value I was able to get out of a Corolla. Also the new look is pretty appealing
@@docholiday1967 Thanks anyway for your input. The Corolla SE hatchback reminds me of my 1985 Honda CRX 5 spd. manual I bought new back then except the Corolla would be a 4 door version with twice the power but a little more heavy in weight because of all the safety added features. Anyway as long as you are happy/satisfied with it and hopefully it will live up to the super reliability Toyota is known for.👍
@@docholiday1967 oK That's fine it does remind me of my 1985 Honda Crx 5 spd. manual, when you put those rear seats down in Corolla SE Hatchback, I bought Honda CRX new back in 1984 except Corolla Hatchback has 4 doors, twice the power with a bit more weight because of the required safety equipment. Thanks for that info.👍
I have the exact same car 2022 Corolla SE Silver 2022. Bought in Sept 2021. The transmission is smooth in heavy traffic; shall I say I55 Chicago traffic jams. No jerking or bucking like other manufacturers. U are not going to accelerate and top out like a Ford Mustang GT Premium. It’s a steady smooth climb to your ideal speed. It’s very reliable so far with 7000miles on the dash. I idle a lot in the winter because of my job, so I change my oil at 3000 to 3500 miles. In the summer I go back to 5000 mile oil changes. I have never regret my purchase especially with these insane gas ⛽️ prices
@@rightlanehog3151 No, I haven’t considered a battery hybrid car yet because I love gas vehicles because they burn heavy. Meaning in cold weather fuel will last longer than batteries 🔋. Heating your car, running accessories, Lights, Radio 📻 and etc, fuel ⛽️ is way better in colder climates. Try charging your cell phone outside in the winter with an external power bank. You will barely charge it half way. I’ll wait until I have no other choice to buy an electric car 🚗
@@microminiskirt U can change the transmission fluid every 60,000 miles. Care Nut has a video on how to change the transmission fluid. It’s the same as the Toyota Camry.
@@natelove187 But Toyota Camry has a conventional 6 spd. automatic transmission and not a CVT. I wonder why? But thanks for that info. I have to find those links that you mention. 👍Car Care Nut has lots of videos.
My brother just bought that exact car. I have a Camry se and a tacoma. I am pleasantly surprised at how much I like his car. Especially with what I have to compare it to. Toyota knocked it out of the park with that car.

Im researching the Corolla because of astronomical gas prices. I have a 40 minute commute to work. The SE with 2.0 seems the way to go. Great videos. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I learned so much from you in just a few days. God bless you.
Yea i always said the Camry was the sweet spot for toyota cars, My younger sister picked up a 2019 Camry with 14k miles for only 18,000 back in 2020. she got a hell of a deal on it in my opinion. Excellent car and so much space.
I'm picking up a 2022 Nightshade Hatch back in a week or so. I love that those models are still made in Japan. I feel giving it a touch more quality in workmanship.
You are correct. The Japanese culture takes pride in their work and are a very well disciplined culture. I would not purchase any Japanese car or any other brand assembled or made in USA.😁✊️👍👍
I ended up buying the 2022 SE and have zero regrets as of yet ( 18K miles ). I use it for work daily 66 miles per day. Its getting 40mpg no matter how I drive it. I paid about $25K and added the extended warranty that puts it beyond 100k miles. I think the grand total with the extended warranty was $28K. This comes with oil changes, tire rotations etc. So really getting the extended bumper to bumper is totally worth it even though it's probably never going to need it.
Our 2008 Corolla is still going strong with 150K miles. Seats are comfy and, as a DIY maintenance guy, I love that transmission dip stick. She did have leaky power steering fluid but a few small clamps on the hoses fixed it.
Thank you AMD for the clear, well informed commentary on the Corolla! Your assessment of the car is spot on. Roomy, solid, and attractive car at an affordable price. We liked our '21 SE Sedan so much, that last fall we added a '22 XSE Hatchback to the "family motor pool"! So we have two of them and love them both. And yes, I too have bashed my knee on the dashboard at least a couple of times!
My first corolla was a used 2010 corolla s with around 152 miles. I had it for 5 years and I only changed the water pump and alternator within the 5 years considering the high mileage. Of course I did the regular maintenance a good synthetic engine oil, spark plugs, gas treatment etc. I loved it so much and now I have a 2021 se apex manual transmission which I missed the manual for a good 20 years. I'm back to the manuals! The 2010 still within the family still! Love the corolla very reliable and the engine is so simple! ❤
After 8 months the 22 SE corolla has been good to me. Great Gas Savior, Infotainment system is good, I like the hold button during drive-thru. The safety sensors are good.
i had 1986 toyota corlla to go to college :). no power windows, only radio and cassette tape. run like a champ until i crashed in the snow. This is a nice car, if only they offer the SE in a manual transmission. They offer the apex a manual but who buy at that price.
@@robme3660 I have a 2020 se manual. I am 5'4 and I bump my knee often. Could not stand the low profile tires. Replaced the tires and wheels with 16's. Now the only thing I do not like is the noise level. Ha, the nut is right on about the noise.
@@edutter9261 my 2005 4runner is louder. The corolla sounds quieter by far. Idk if it has to do with my manual transmission because i heard that CVTs drone.
Just wanted to say thank you for this review. I was able to assist my parents in finding their next new car (Toyota Corolla hatchback se) of which they are loving. I am a huge fan of not only Toyotas but mainly your channel!
My best buddy owns the 2020 SE in Super White. The TNGA frame handles very nicely during the turns, and compared to the competition, he enjoys the high quality Moonstone interior very much. Great video! 👌🏼
Great video! Ive traded in my 2014 Volvo XC70, which I loved, for a 2023 Corolla SE, all black. Love both but the Corolla has so many more features and so good on gas, amazing! Ive got a compliment on it today, never happened when I owned the Volvo…
12:18 I went to local honda dealer and saw the touring model civic priced at $31000, and dealer is adding a markup of $7000 . So $38000 for a honda civic. What a crazy world
That’s pushing it crazy high. Dealers are having a field day with the markups. I bought my 22 Corolla SE for $28,000. No negotiations, no price drop, no wiggle room, either you take it or the next customer buys it. I bought mine the same day. The sales lady told me it will be gone tomorrow and at the time it was a 3 week wait for a Corolla SE coming from Japan 🇯🇵
I have had all makes of cars, but now I have become a Toyota fun because of their reliability and functionality. I own a 2021 Sienna for my wife and kids and a 2008 Corolla for myself, I love them.
Thank you much for this review AMD. You are a fully trusted source for me, and I appreciate it. I am in a frustrated state in that I want a "luxury Corolla" with best ride quality and I know that is the xle model. But I want that CVT (least offensive as I really want a geared automatic but not to be had), but it is not in the L model Corolla's. Wish Toyota would do more for interior sound deadening also...they dropped engine cover and no silencer pad under the hood...really cutting costs. My 2009 corolla with how they made the sound deadening and low wind noise then, is arguably quieter than current gen. Thx again!
Dude get the xle. They’re amazing. You get the nice interior, the cool headlights, with the non-sport design. I love it. I have the LE 2022 but wish I got the hybrid or xle. I just didn’t know anything about them when I bought in July 2021
As a car guy myself, who has owned 2 camaros, a mustang and a GTO, I have a 2015 corolla le with the CVT and actually prefer it over the previous generations automatic. My wife had a 2012 corolla. The drone doesn't bother me. I know what it is doing and when I take a road trip and get 44 mpgs, that makes up for it.
Toyota's started the Corolla line in Nov 1966 according to what I found on Wikipedia. My dad bought a very used E 10 1st model Corolla back about 1972/3 time frame. He drove it about 20-30 miles a day. In about 1974/5 he was driving it 44 miles each way to work. As I recall he purchased it for $500.00 and use it to trade in on a Ford Courier Pick up in 1975 and got $500.00 allowance. That little economics lesion stuck with me until today.
Dan that a mouth full ! I going to buy a new Toyota Corolla as long as it’s made in the Japan ! Keep my 2010 Toyota Corolla le! 180,000 thousand on it ! Man I learn a lot about Toyota! Thanks for sharing! Houston Texas
I got the 2022 SE Corolla because I needed a car for me. My wife drives the minivan. Hard to have one vehicle. Looking to keep this car for the long run.
Interesting! Yeah-I bought my wife a 2017 Sienna SE AWD a month and a half ago to replace our Chrysler minivan and I’m trading in my VW Jetta for a 2020 Corolla SE or a 2019 Honda Civic later this week. I may have to flip a coin after the test drives. 😂😎
I got a 2021 Corolla LE in 032021 Hybrid and paid 5 k off sticker price. I have never loved a car more this is there best A to B car ever made for the price! Up to 65 MPG! no one beats it in the world, and it was made in Japan.
I’m a car guy and honestly don’t mind cvts for everyday driving. As long as your not rushing off the line they’re fine, smooth. We have 17 hrv,18 crv , 17 Corolla, and 07 crv non cvt. The thing I don’t like about the Corolla is the steering is super lite at highway speeds
12:30 I did buy a fully optioned out hybrid Corolla, and yes, I'd say it's a bit Camry-like. The biggest reason I didn't buy a Camry is precisely that it is a bigger car. If I was living in the US, I'd have gotten the Camry. Living in Thailand, the Corolla is more than big enough, especially when driving downtown in whichever Thailand city. 🙂
I agree, the SE is the best value in the lineup (Nightshade is just aesthetics, I wouldn't get it). The 2.0 gets better mileage than the older 1.8. For the trims, the Hybrid and SE probably get you the most Corolla per $, though the Hybrid would be best for those cross-shopping a base Prius. The XSE is too close to the Camry SE's price range, while the Apex IMO is not worth it if you really want a sportier Corolla as it will be way stiff (Just wait for the GR!). If there is a SE 6 speed in the Toyota press fleet, I would love you to test it as well. There's more dealers marking them up than selling at MSRP. Anyone want one, find a dealer charging MSRP, put in order in and be patient, but you can specify what factory accessories you want.

I decided on the LE over the SE. I preferred the tried and true 1.8 with no direct injection. Also found a 21 made in Japan model. Also rides softer than the SE. All positive things for me. Got it in early 21 for 19,100 and had 1,750 rebate at that time. Still get 36-38 avg in the summer. Only 33 in the brutal cold of winter. My LE is the more upscale one with aluminum wheels and all the safety sense features. And if you accelerate slowly for mpg you have no cvt drone. That happens if you floor it. I never floor it.
I don't think you or Toyota realise how many new customers you are bringing to the brand. I'm in the UK and have just bought a Toyota c-hr 2.0. After watching your great videos on Toyota reliability there was no other brand we even considered. Thank you for all your great content 👍🏻
I have an 02 Corolla and my neighbor upgraded from the same car to a 2021 Corolla SE which he loves everything about except the road noise, which he says is markedly higher than his old Corolla! I didn't think much of it until I recently got a ride from him and I was surprised to find out that he wasn't kidding and that the road noise was so pronounced at highway speeds; if his car wasn't brand new I would've thought that he needed to replace his wheel bearings! The noise was indeed higher than on my ancient Corolla. If I do get the new Corolla, I'd have to always have music volume on high to drown out that road noise since it would otherwise drive me nuts (or, even worse, put me to sleep)!
@@marklintwo First thing my neighbor did was put Hankook Kinergy 4S tires on his Corolla, which are an update to the Hankook Optimo 4S he had on his old Corolla (which I also have on mine), so no, it's not the tires.
@@marklintwo I'm not doubting you; any good quality tires would probably be an improvement over the factory tires. In my case, however, I'm comparing the road noise of the new and old Corollas while both are on good quality tires of the same brand.
Bought a Certified 2020 Corolla SE, 6spd MT a few months back. It had low miles, and a great warranty...yes, I paid a premium price for it, but paid cash. This car is so much fun to drive! This is my 3rd Corolla. Had a 06' CE, MT.. ..still have an 03' CE MT. Only thing I live in Iowa...don't think they are the greatest in Winter, due to how low they sit, and how light they are.....no problem...got my 🌮 to drive while Corolla is in storage.
Hi Car Care Nut! Do we need to worry about the 18” wheels on the SE and XSE? Love these trims but the back roads in my area are pretty rough. Thanks! Keep up the great work!!
Just came back on a trip to Joshua Tree in CA and had a 2022 corola as a rental. I couldn't believe how nice and easy that car was to drive. Super smooth, excellent feel, pretty quick. The only things I didn't like was that the back seat didn't fold flat, just in case someone wants to sleep on the passenger side. Some cars fold out flat, and that is nice. I brought a tent for camping anyway. And, the 2nd thing, the tires are great on the road. But, I went on some gravel roads, and went real slow, because they didn't seem too beefy, and I didn't want a flat. Last, like you said, a little loud compared to a mercedes, etc. But, overall though, I couldn't believe how nice this car drove and how comfortable it was. I could totally drive one anywhere. Great seats!
I remember a year or two ago at my local Toyota dealership they had a Corolla Apex xse for $23,000 and I just looked them up and they're in the 28,000 range which is ridiculous
It is a rip off. The stealerships are taking advantage of the shortages and the micro chip shortage as well as the trucking problem. Don't play their games and just wait for this whole thing about shortages of micro chips, truck drivers and Covid come to a close. Then buy at MSRP or Invoice.🤑
I just bought one 2022 after this video in ksa and I driving it besides my Lexus SUV . I got the 2.0 engine with no other options at all , really I got surprised the vehicle is really perfect for Daley use and powerful enough , good AC and comfortable . Thanks allot🙏 Your follower from KSA
Perhaps Toyota Corolla engineers can morph a Lexus IS with the next generation Corolla where it combines the quietness of the Lexus IS with the roomier proportions of the Corolla. We keep our cars a long time (in excess of 10 years) and we're on our second Corolla LE, third Toyota vehicle. In the past we've owned BMW, Volvo, Volkswagen, Jaguar and Land Rover, but looking forward, it's only going to be Toyota/Lexus. Once Toyota/Lexus perfects an electric vehicle, it'll be time to give up our current 2012 Corolla! Enjoyed your video review.
I still have my 2015 Corolla S with the tech package. It has around 73K, I do find the CVT drone annoying. I would like to get into a newer Corolla hatchback.

I have a Corolla 2019 LE and it has been very good to me. My next car will probably be another Corolla and the current gen look good. I agree that the only downside is the price keep going up and creeping into Camry territory. But this seem to be the trend unfortunately. Inflation also doesn't help. Please Toyota, all I want is a basic reliable small 4-door car!
When my sis totalled the family '07 corolla, winter 2021, I remember going to check out a '17 corolla, and a '20 corolla hatch. and I was astounded, how much more space there was in the sedan, than the hatchback. like, in my head, i just expect that hatchbacks are more spacious and more practical than sedans, but the corolla hatch engineers clearly had a different idea of what makes a hatchback.
I bought this car brand new 2021 I have 12,000 miles already no issues. The only thing I don’t like is the center console that slides, it’s having some play already
I love my 1998 Camry I bought it new with 3 miles on it It has the 1.8 liter 4 cylinder and 450000 miles and she still gets over 30 miles per gallon of gas I have no plans on getting rid of her
I own a 2021 Corolla, purchased in Europe. Almost top spec model. It's an honest car, but also looks pretty cool. Have had many compliments about it's looks. The auto is the best CVT I have driven. Better than many other dual-clutch and torque converter autos I've driven in the past - not only because it is relaxing to drive but the MPG is outstanding too. BTW, in my kneck of the woods Toyotas are covered by a 10yr warranty or 185,000 km. Pretty good deal if you ask me.
I really like the new Corolla, it's come a long way since my 1970 Corolla I drove in high school. I absolutely dislike the CVT (both versions) in these or any car for that matter. I dreaded doing road tests in CVT Corollas. The 6-speed made this car a lot more fun to drive.
Fantastic review 👍 My wife bought a 21 hatch in nightshade and I bought the 21 SE sedan with the upgrade package (18's and a bunch of other stuff) Two things that bothered me was the rearview mirror, so I got Toyota to install the autodimming with homelink and compass and the tiny radio knobs. I bought the Rav 4 knobs and they fit perfectly, just got to take out the plastic piece on the back of new knobs and they fit right on. They would even fit your new Camry stereo knobs
AMD, Now you are working Sundays? If Toyota had not shrunk the Corolla so much, the SE manual would be my top choice. If selecting an automatic, the 50+ mpg Hybrid is hard to beat 😁
Just got one, praise God. When do you change the transmission oil out? Coming up on 40k. Compared to all the hooptis I have driven (scetchy AF), this car feels like a Lexus. My knees are sore from hitting the humps but I forget that as soon as I drive this thing.
I own a 2021 Corolla Hatchback and love it, but a family, imo, would be better off with a sedan. Btw, the SE level can be bought with a 6-speed even in sedan model.
Yes, the pricing is a problem as it overlaps with the Camry (similar with the Civic). Unless you want the basic low end model for price or wanting a smaller car, its just better to jump to the Camry.
It’s not a problem. It’s normal for a higher trim with more options of the smaller vehicle to overlap pricing with a low spec model of the next size up. No different than Civic vs Accord or a loaded RAV4 vs a base Highlander. If you have a dollar budget, you have to choose whether you want the most size you can buy for the money or the most features you can buy for the money. People buying this spec Corolla want the specific features and sporty looks or they would have gotten a cheaper trim level. Makes no sense to compare price to a base Camry instead of a similar trim Camry.
@@mrallan8063 No, that's not an opinion. He's stating facts about the price overlap caused by differences in trim levels and why people would want that over a car which may be an upgrade but has lower trim. Your opinion is valid only in so far as people not really caring about features and only want the specifications like room and engine power - and they just so happened to have extra money lying around.
@@webcomment8895 you are right. My '21 Corolla XSE with almost every option was in the price range or a little higher than the Camry, BUT, it was an entry level Camry. But then when I got it in Dec.2020 I got a $1,500 rebate and dealer took off about that same amount from the MSRP window sticker. In todays world you might just have to take what you can get at whatever price.
I wish they offered the hybrid in higher trims. Not sure of their reasoning for not doing so. Also, of course, the wagon version here in the US would be great!
I just snatched up a 2023 Corolla LE with convenience package. Overpaid a bit but I’m super happy with it! It looks awesome with its “default” look compared to the SE
When it comes to CVT transmissions I believe that Toyota makes the best. However all the car manufacturers are switching to CVT because they are a lot cheaper to manufacture. The downside to the consumer? you cannot rebuild it, you have to replace it. And that comes at a substantial cost to the customer.
@@RM..... The CVT in my Outback has been excellent. 165K mile 2017. I was apprehensive at first and found it to be a non issue. Feels and shifts like a normal AT 95% of the time.
@@TheCarCareNut Also.. Now that you had both for a while do you prefer the Autel scan tool or the Xtool D8? It's gonna be for gen diog work...thanks man
Good video. You mention the Camry but I like many people like a smaller car. The Camry feels huge to me, although I love the style and exterior design of the TRD Camry unlike you. And the biggest issue fir me is that I love a manual transmission and I can't get a MT on a Camry while I can with my Corolla. I currently own 2 Corollas, a 2009 S 5MT which I still think looks better than any other Corolla sedan ever made and a 2017 Corolla iM 6MT. Your 2014 was very similar on the interior design to my 2017 but I don't agree with you on that point. The new Corolla center stack area looks horrible to me with the stereo stuck there as an afterthought. I much prefer it located higher within the dash itself Like my Corolla iM or the Camry before they messed that up recently too. I do like the deign of the new Highlander stereo though as it's more integrated with the dash and looks 1000x better than the current Corolla and RAV4. I've owned 9 Corollas and several Camrys over the years and it drives me nuts how they keep getting bigger. That's what the next car up the ladder was for! When I needed more room we bought a Previa, what an amazing vehicle that was to raise a family with, but that's another story! Thanks for the video, always interesting to see your views.
You don't have to worry about this new Corolla being bigger than the two you own. I can fit comfortably in the Corolla iM and earlier models but I don't come close to fitting inside the current model.
@@rightlanehog3151 I fit okay in the current model and I'm 6'2". I was referring to cars over generations. My 2009 Corolla is the same size as my 1991 Camry was and new Camry is a lot bigger than my old Camry. I loved the size of my 1994 Corolla but it looked small next to my 2009 Corolla.
The best thing about the Corolla is if you do your part and take care of it, it will be running long after you're sick and tired of seeing and driving it.
I see alot of comments about the SE with a "JUMP " feeling from 1st to 2nd gear. This is normal. Mine does that it all depends on how much you are on throttle. If you take off with a lighter foot you will notice it does not do this. It's also more prone to do that when you take off on a hill and its shifting to 2nd while still on a hill. So when your on level ground with your foot more down it still does that because theres a load on the CVT. Experiment with what I just said, you will see and learn how to avoid that. It will come 2nd nature to you once you learn it.
Hate me if you want but but as a Toyota lover if I had a choice my 2013 Corolla with 4 spd automatic vs this new Corolla with CVT I would pick my 2013 Corolla with 4spd automatic. The only new Corolla I would get is the manual transmission if my wife doesn't need to drive it times if I take her car for service. Dear Toyota please stop CVT. Keep regular automatics or E-CVTs. BTW my dad still has 1987 Corolla with 1.3L + 4 speed manual trans. After all new cars in the house he still keeps the 87 Corolla and still runs with no issues. Just regular maintenance with carburator tune up is all it needs.
The CVT in toyota is actually really good, it will take time to get used to, not quick off the line but once the CVT learns your behavior it will be a fantastic transmission for you. All the city and highway driving never gone past 2800rpms due to higher elevations. Most of my driving is around 2000rpms even in highway and going between 80-85mph or 130-140km per hour and the eco mode turns off at 85mph or 140km per hour..
Still driving my 1997 Corolla with just over 400K miles! Runs like a watch!

@@microminiskirt it has the CVT. The XSE trim only comes with a CVT.

It’s very reliable so far with 7000miles on the dash. I idle a lot in the winter because of my job, so I change my oil at 3000 to 3500 miles. In the summer I go back to 5000 mile oil changes. Speaking of gas prices, did you consider the Corolla Hybrid?
@@rightlanehog3151 No, I haven’t considered a battery hybrid car yet because I love gas vehicles because they burn heavy. Meaning in cold weather fuel will last longer than batteries 🔋.
Did the same! Knock on wood 🙏🏻

Thx again!
I too would like a quiet model Corolla. I don't want all the luxury gadgets($$$) of a Lexus, just a quieter cabin option for highway cruising.
Dude get the xle. They’re amazing. You get the nice interior, the cool headlights, with the non-sport design. I love it. I have the LE 2022 but wish I got the hybrid or xle. I just didn’t know anything about them when I bought in July 2021
My '21 Corolla XSE has the pad under the hood. It was standard.
I wish they would drop the old cvt and the old 1.8 and make the whole line up with the new engine and new cvt
I bought the engine noise pad that goes on the hood for my 20 SE. Took 3 minutes tops to install.

I love my 2011 Corolla LE. I bought it used with 95k on it and looks and drives like new yet. Very easy car to maintain..
My first car was a '76 corolla. My last corolla was '15. Both, were the 2 best cars I've ever had.
I have a 2017 Corolla SE with the upgrade package, which I have had from new and absolutely love it.

It has direct AND port injection to eliminate the problems.

Ive done a good amount of research and the price for what you get is outstanding. On top of the resalabity
@@webcomment8895 That's your opinion, and that's fine. My points are still valid.
@@aldrichemrys It's great that you are a mind reader. He claims its not a problem, AMD and I think otherwise. Those are opinions.
I got a 21 LE Corolla. Bought in 2020, for just under $19K. I love it.
I wish they offered the hybrid in higher trims. Not sure of their reasoning for not doing so.
Also, of course, the wagon version here in the US would be great!
👍
Thank you for the excellent review. As a small car guy and not looking for a flashy car. Looks like it is made for me.
The car guy in me would go for the 6 speed manual😁
Man, good content on a Sunday morning.
Great video to enjoy my coffee
I bought a (UK) Scarlet Flare 2021 Corolla Excel 2.0l with Pan roof, brand new in November last year. Great Car!!
And best of all, it was made in Britain.
I like videos from this Channel, but this is a Gem. It's combine my favorite car with presenting during driving. Thank you AMD!!!
I would love to get the Hatchback with a manual.
And cvt are just horrible . Like driving a go kart .The cars have no power to begin with then add a cvt and forget it
@@RM..... The CVT in my Outback has been excellent. 165K mile 2017. I was apprehensive at first and found it to be a non issue. Feels and shifts like a normal AT 95% of the time.
The only benefit from CVTs is fuel economy and emissions. Costs are actually higher for a CVT especially the one with first gear
@@TheCarCareNut Also.. Now that you had both for a while do you prefer the Autel scan tool or the Xtool D8? It's gonna be for gen diog work...thanks man
I like the D8 for their price.
Love your videos here in Australia. Let’s see more. Waiting on my new Ascent 2.0 let Sedan can’t wait 👍👍
I have an Corolla hatch XSE 6MT. I prefer the manual.
I just bought one but do not receive it until mid July. Very excited. Great video. Happy to find one brand new and fairly affordable
I’d like to know your opinion on the manual transmission with the se 2.0 engine? Is it a good or great combination?
Great I would say 👍
I think it’s a great combination if you want a manual transmission.
@@TheCarCareNut My 98 Corolla has a manual transmission still going well.
😁
The CVT in toyota is actually really good, it will take time to get used to, not quick off the line but once the CVT learns your behavior it will be a fantastic transmission for you. All the city and highway driving never gone past 2800rpms due to higher elevations. Most of my driving is around 2000rpms even in highway and going between 80-85mph or 130-140km per hour and the eco mode turns off at 85mph or 140km per hour..
