Elden Ring: How To Enter Leyndell Early (Maidenless, No Great Runes, Divine Bridge Elevator Skip)

- Working as of patch 1.05. This video shows how to use the Ruptured Crystal Tear to bypass the elevator in the Divine Bridge, skipping over a bunch of the game's progression. This was done on NG+ on a character that had acquired none of the Great Runes, and hadn't accepted Melina's offer. This exploit lets you skip the elevator and enter Leyndell the Royal Capital way earlier than intended. I used this to get the Bolt of Gransax early for the Legendary Armaments achievement so I could 100% the game.

To those asking if it works on current patch: No clue, and I won't be testing this anymore. I've been testing this trick every patch since 1.03, all the way to 1.05, but from now on you'll have to figure it out yourself.

@@jeffreyhouser7067 it's tough to get fellow tarnished. Took me forever too. Try and make sure you walk off the corner towards the edge of the pit so you can land on a railing upon detonation. The you'll standup and fall to the bottom but it's close enough that you receive no damage.

A word of warning for NG+ players: I did this right after going into NG+ (before going to Roundtable Hold), stopped at a grace in Leyndell, and Melina booked it to do some soul searching with the Erdtree. I was unable to gain access to Roundtable Hold until after I beat Morgott.

Very hard to do.
My tips are take of all your armor so that you visualize your hitbox easier when standing of the ledge.
The key is to already be falling by the time you drink your physick, to do this you have to be standing as close as possible to the edge without falling when you start the drink animation. and as soon as you press drink nudge a bit forward so you start falling, note that if you run off to fast then that animation is canceled. Just keep doing this as swing as late as possible in order to get the I frame animation. Good luck, took me like 40+ tries.

Thanks this worked for me. Did it on PS4 after patch 1.07. I found dropping from the left off the little nodule worked for me. Took about about 25 attempts but much quicker than NG+ playthrough legit just to get bolt of gransax for the plat. Many thanks again for the video
still works 16/1/24 I tried for 2 hours feeling the timing before i found a lineup. From the rectangular platform make sure the camera is pointing towards the ground as much as you can. Then you make sure your right foot (barefoot) is around the 4th plank from the stone path onwards (might need to adjust based on body size). Then just drink and walk at the same time. then just adjust the starting distance according to your drink timing so that you drink the pot as late as possible.

Tried to do it for an hour yesterday. I did it today after 3 attempts.
I think timing has to be pretty perfect. You need to start drinking and then step off the ledge. Leave some distance from the edge, exactly like in the video. This seems to give more time and allows to reach lower before explosion. Hit R1 like video says. Then it's a matter of timing and luck.

I've tested it. In the current version of the game, if you dart off a cliff as fast as she does, or even a little slower, you immediately put the flask down and free fall instead of drinking it. This keeps you from getting the explosion effect, and thus killing you.

Can confirm does work 2/25/24. took me 20 mins to get the time right of the swing. also found it better to kind of float before the drop youll see your heel is flush with the edge but you arent falling yet. triggers the flask slightly later as you can fall quick on the edge. cheers.

Just got it to work. It's easier if you fall close to the wall itself and not the platform you don't have to fall all the way down since you will land on a ledge. Got it my first try when I did it this way.

Still works as of current patch. (Which I think is 1.07.1?) Third try'd it using a Gargoyle's Greatsword, 2h'd and managed to time spicy flask use right as I fell off; Landed right in front of Lever. If you're having problems, it might be timing. Just imagine there's a Runebear at the bottom and you're trying to time your swing right as you land on it; Important part is making sure your flask drinking animation ends AFTER you've dropped.
you have to get lucky enough so that when you fall you can complete your drinking animation mid-air and not have it cancelled by the falling animation, otherwise you'll very likely not make it close enough to the ground. Tried it for over an hour without replicating your attempt number 6

Pulled this off just now 2/14/2023. Took a bunch of tries but I think i figured out a trick or two.
Firstly, it seems easier to perform in the way that this video did. ua-cam.com/video/gFkuoRXWtqU/v-deo.html
Secondly, to land on the collision in the same way in the video I linked, it seems you can control where you are tossed by the explosion by holding the opposite direction you wanna go. So what I did was aim for the corner as in the video I linked did while falling (so holding forward towards it) then as I press R1 at the time of the explosion, at the same time I pushed my analog away from the corner. You have to be quick as it's all done at the same time. Also make sure you're finished drinking your physic as you start falling or the explosion will happen too early. It could just be chance, but I did do it twice in a row with this method.
I cannot seem to get the timing of drinking the potion right. It's always either too early and it blows me up just before I'd touch the ground and get the I-frames or I miss timing and walk off trying to delay it. I wish we could see a video of a controller or keyboard doing this to see the proper input timing.
Still works as of feb 6th 2023. The easiest way is to use duel wield lordsworn swords, and do plunge attack on the very beginning of the explosion. You have to actually hit the ground as it explodes or it wont work

Did this today with a greatsword. I "almost" nailed the timing but still died. I landed on the pull lever which I think contributed for my success, as there is a bit height difference there.
It worked for me (today 1 october, newest patch/Pc). My maidenless run, still in going. Only I aimed on wooden barrier of lift.
Did this in two tries on NG+1 and like 80 on NG+2 lol here’s what worked for me the second time. Use an 80 BPM metronome, drink the potion on a beat and fall off as shown in the video (maximizing your fall distance before the bomb goes off) and when you drink, count 1, then count up to 5 with the beats, delay for half an instant after 5 and swing. That helped me narrow down the swing timing (I was using the same sword as in this video in case that changes timing) but getting a good fall when drinking the potion seems to be the secret sauce.
I can confirm it still works as of 4/1/24. What I did was I walked off the rectangular platform at an angle towards the inner wall of the elevator shaft while taking the flask. Do not fall touching the wall as you might die from fall damage on a small ledge. When the flask made me explode, I landed on a small ridge near the level of the elevator, then I just simply hopped off to land on the elevator. You have to get lucky landing on a small ledge via flask blast. I don't know if there is a way to influence your direction from the explosion. Thankfully only took me about 20 tries. Good luck!
Edit: oh and thank you for this video. I was able to get Bolt of Gransax (in separate save NG+) and all achievements due to this. I know the day of this posted comment but it is NOT an April fools joke.
23/06/24 still works, just gotta try and land on a platform along the wall when you explode since the patch to prevent potions while falling makes it harder to get to the ground.
stand so you're floating, use potion and just before the activation walk off.
Count potion activation as 1 second.

Timing the flask is key, need to be throwing yourself off as the drink animation starts. Explosion needs to be right at floor.
Also Recommend using a Greatsword as I tried this with Dual Grave Scythes and failed at least 30+, Switched to the Bastard sword and got it on the first try

So I was looking around to get to the mountaintop Giants and found some videos about horse glitch flying if you do that I can guarantee you'll get there I can't I'm not fast enough to quit the game for the glitch been trying for two hours so sad 😢

1/12/24 confirmed working on 1.10.1. I couldn't get it to work when landing on the lift platform. Instead I stood at the top right corner and went diagonally to try and land on the stone ring around the platform. Good luck.

Be drinking as you fall so the activation animation happens mid fall vs before falling. and then time that explosion early into the swing. You should explode like a foot away from the ground early/mid swing

I'm curious if anybody has a setup for this? I noticed that there are little lines on the edge of the small platform sticking out. If you always start at one corner of the platform, walk along the edge (from corner to corner), and drop off at the other end then the lines act kinda like a ruler. It seems as though you can use the visual cue of the lines to fairly precisely adjust when to drink the flask relative to when you fall off. Once I started using the lines it seemed much easier to dial in the timing ("drink at approximately 2 and 1/4" lines from the edge). Using this method I landed successfully on the very thin perimeter ledge and not the bottom-most floor (since you're walking toward the perimeter wall and not toward the center of the shaft when you walk off the corner the way I'm describing). The exact lines may vary based on graphics settings though - I have not run any thorough testing here.
i noticed you have to be walking off the ledge not running, the running animation is what cancels the drinking animation,
Still works, though it's a pain in the ass if it's your first time.
It's May 20th and it still works, you have to be exact and precise af. I recommend looking at the floor texture and measure a distance where you can drink the flask and start walking at the same time. Then try multiple times until you find the exact position and angle that will let you land alive.
I’m pretty sure they patched it. I’ve tried about 50 times with my prisoner starting class character (no armour) got the sweet spot about 7 times but died every time anyways

How do you sprint forward while taking a swig? I only walk super slow but it looks like you dash forward after drinking.
Still working 26-June-2024, Need to time the fall with the explosion with the normal attack to bypass the fall damage.

It's pretty difficult, but possible.
Just like the Tree Jump in DS3, takes a while to do first time, and anything after that will be pretty easy and quick

You can do the same if you simply use finger remedy and golden tongue and go afk at divine bridge, probably someone will invade after some time and luckily spawn at the zone with the Iron Virgins and use the lever to go up kill you, then the lever will be permanently unlocked.
This has consequences for ncps: skips some of sir guideon dialogue because aparently the game thinks you killed 6 shard bearers (not sure).
I've been told it can kill brother coryn and irina, but she dies either way lol. Be wary of this if you want to do it, I got paranoid after doing it I thought my save was doomed lol

you can still do a backstab with your friend to grant you invenciblity during the animation to go down the elevator but its hard to do

So I've just tried it. I've successfully timed it perfectly and landed exactly the way he did in the video of the walkthrough. Unfortunately I still died. I'm 99% sure they fixed it.

Alright, it still works on PC (1.04.1). I tried with Morning Star just like the guy doing maidenless run. I had more than 50 attempts but I did it finally :D I think it's really important to explode near of surface, so you need to try drink flask while falling already.
