This shows tom at his very best he must be one of the best story tellers via singing this was recorded at the church street station in orlando florida back in 1990
Here is my chance to show my age. When I was 7 this song came out. I was fishing with my dad and he had the radio on in his old Chevy truck. This song came on and I started singing along. The fish started biting and we had one hell of a fishing trip. We went fishing every weekend and he would say "Boy, sing your fishing song." Two years later he died. To this day I still sing this when I go fishing. I am now teaching it to my 10 year old son. Some things no matter how silly should be passed on.
this was my Dad's all time favorite song, he died one month ago by a lady driving on the wrong side of the hwy, crashed into him at 55mph! I miss you Dad, the kids love you and we miss you on this Father's Day, your favorite holiday! Here's an Old Milwaukee to you!!
R.I.P To your father. Sad it happened that way. Been a while since I've had an old Milwaukee. Only beer 30 years ago I could drink warm. Next time I have one, I'll think of you and your dad. 🙏🙏🙏🍻🍻
I am glad to have found Tom here on UA-cam. Brought a big smile to my face. When I was a kid, I would grab my sister's tennis racket and strum it like a guitar along with any of Tom's songs.
my favorite beer drinking moment of all time. A bar in Buffalo & me and some stranger started talking. Next table over 4 other guys joined in and finally one said 'well, time to go to work'.....short pause and he said 'I'm a state trooper and it's time to gt them drunk drivers off the road.' He staggered out and went to work.
This is one of the songs that the lyrics and music stayed with me throughout the years. In fact I sing it at home all the time and watch my wife roll her eyes. :-)
With that waltz beat, this country music song is trying to sound like a German beer drinking song-lol, I rember this song from 1976. Still funny as can be-thank you Tom T Hall.
I like Beer too. Now I will have to sign this song in my head all day. Thanks AkeimAssad!! 3-21-2019. Tossing one back tonight in honor of my deceased WWII vet father-in-law who's birthday is today. He was one of the best men I have known. Cheers Johnny Mac!
I likeeeeee beerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr makess me feel mellowwwwwwwww....What a classic I'm glad I discovered this song.I likeeeeeeee beeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love this song, m y dad had this album. i am drinking stella as we speak. or as i type. ben franklin said that beer was proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy.
I started to like this song when stationed in West Germany (1976). There was only one American radio station in the entire country, and so the station had to be eclectic with their genre of music. Early in the morning they always played "country western", so that's what I listened to on the way to the post. And that's how I started to like this tune, even sang it during the day.
Got to be one of the best classic beer drinking songs.Anyone that drinks beer from a University to old folk re-unions that have beer it's a welcome fun song, that's a normality that should always be included for festivities!
We use to go to Church Street Station a lot in the late 80's and early 90's . It was a great place to spend the evening. Not the same anymore, too bad :(
I sure miss Church Street Station. I had a lot of great times there in the 90s back before all of the various theme park entertainment complexes killed it.

This comment is now old enough that there’s a chance that @cowboy12765 is teaching his grandkid this song 😮
