I liked the fact that once gravity literally left the building, they showed Beeps and Shrike having the advantage. Not because they had magnetic boots but because they were used to the zero gravity. Since their home ship doesn't have any AG.

My favorite thing about this first episode is how efficient and natural it makes a lot of the exposition. A quick line or two between a pair of characters and you INSTANTLY get where they stand with each other. The entire Scratch scene is probably the best example of this. You could probably take that scene out of context and show it to someone and it'd stand on it's own as a self contained short.

Which ends up following on the second encounter. Despite looking like the "gentle giant" character, he's actually a bit more complex than he let's on, he enjoys the action just as much- he's just a biiit more responsible than Shrike. I love the way the *characterization* of the characters is presented in subtle ways like that!
And the fact he's a bit more concerned with the merc company than Shrike. While cashing in on the bounty would net them a lot of money, breaking contract would definitely not help them move up on the board.

It's nice to see that Monkey Wrench has it's own channel on UA-cam now rather than having all the episodes on Zeurel's main channel, i have a feeling this series is going to blow up soon enough because it's too good to be left underrated!
I like how Shrike's threat rating is only a 5 out of a max of 10 but when push comes to shove he proves to be incredibly capable. With quick thinking he basically had Kara cornered. If he was only able to keep his mouth shut he would have had her and he'd have been able to sequester Nobert back to his terminal.
Note that @17:11 the poster shows an example of a (executed) Terran male and female and it says to execute the species on site!!! VERY IMPORTANT!! Also, on caras Device she pulls up the crate that shrike and bulldog get from the law in episode two end it says Target: secondary Green location, unknown. You took the manic energy of EarthWorm Jim and placed it in a character that is actually competent. The second I saw his face and heard his voice, I got nervous that he was just going to be the annoying funny man, but no. You made him into a really fun character with a voice that fits his fits of mania.

I came from Just Stop’s video and I'm so glad I did. This first episode was hilarious, fun, and action-packed. This was an amazing experience and UA-cam should recommend it to more people who love the animation sphere
I've noticed Indie animated shows on UA-cam tend to be a tad hit-or-miss due to inexperience. I'm grateful that the folks making this show clearly know what they're doing!
Give Monkey Wrench credit: they accepted a dangerous contract for a fraction of the worth of the bounty, then proceeded to succeed on the assignment despite being assaulted by numerous hunters, to only be denied signage when an ELITE ASSASSIN interferes... and even then, only barely!
aww I'm back from watching episode 2 and I love the detail that Shrike mentions that he doesn't like the dark, and there is a night lamp in his room 2:15 😭😭
It really (Redacted) me off that I didn't get notified of this series. This one episode was such a good time and fun to watch with the humor, the characters, and the world it's building. Tomorrow I am gonna watch the other 2 episodes. I really hope more people check this out cause this is genuinely good and brings me such joy to watch.
It's unbealivable how underrated this show is, I've been watching the two episodes that'd been uploaded over and over again for like 3 months now and everything just keeps fascinating me, sadly I don't have much money to support the series as much as I'd like to, but I just hope we can watch this project grow and become what it deserves to. The series itself is turning out to be pretty good, and the voice characterizations by Jacob Barrens as Shrike Sanchez & Jean-Francois Donaldson as Bulldog Browns certainly help.
This new audio just made me realise how ABSOLUTELY VITAL it can be at times. The scene where they’re all fighting feels so much more jumpy and faster by simply making the laser gun sounds louder, it’s amazing!

Heres some stuff in this episode I found to be worth noting for theory craffting or generally interesting and I plan to do this for each episode. Please support the creators! So to start of heres what the secondary target profiles told us about our protagonists Shrike Sanchez Height: 6'3" / 192cm Weight: 125lbs / 57kg Age: Unknown Species: Unknown Threat rating: 5/10 Notes: Target heavily favours long range combat. Useless in close range combat. Take out first to have an easier time taking down the much larger threat Bulldog. Bulldog Browns Height: 8'12" / 272cm Weight: 800lbs / 362kg Age: 32 galactic years Species: Walrinian Threat rating: 9/10 Notes: Target heavily favours close range combat. Take out Sanchez first to have an easier time taking down this massive opponent. The pictures are also interesting as they help show off their personalities Shrike's is in the moment and goofy, showing his incompetence and love of pizza. Whoever made his description didn't care too much or Shrike is surprisingly under the radar, but I think it's the first. There's slightly more detail about Bulldog and it treats him as a genuine threat. His picture helps to show him as a gentle gaint with his soft exertion and posing, making the photographer look small. Someone called 'Primary Red' is mentioned in the news on the scrolling text with a statement about how they hope there won't be another disater when the league of aligned worlds is mentioned, leading me believing their connected. Just before Bulldog shuts off the news we see a large bounty was issued by the Potoo empire, presumably the one everyone was after. A white circle, presumably the 'Ghost egg', is orbiting the planet and its moon based on a drawing seen the background they were speaking to Nobert Tyreens blind minions seem extremely sturdy. Scratch might be the 'Precious sardine' bounty hunters we can see on the ranking list
this series is such a piece of work, now that it has its own channel it makes me more excited knowing how committed you guys are to this project! keep it up!!
and it doesn't rely on sex jokes either like Helluva Boss, I mean, I love that show but it can be a little much, especially during scenes that are supposed to be more serious.

That's why I kinda prefer this over Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel. The animation is just better, the writing is funny (and it doesn't rely too much on swearing), and the lore feels deep despite not there not being much revealed yet.
Every time I watch this episode, I notice more small details that didn't need to be added. On this watch through of this episode, I only now saw that the remote Beebs used to turn off the TV magnetizes to the dashboard to prevent itself from floating away, due to them not having A.G. (Artificial Gravity).
what i love about this show much more than helluva boss is the fact it nails both character and story plot without needing to be overly profane while keeping a steady and consistent pace, not make 100+ antagonists and dump them the next episode never to be seen again.
Damn the audio mixing in this version is QUITE a bit better. I caught a whole ton of jokes that went totally over my head on the first watch. Definitely supporting!
Looking forward to seeing this new channel grow. Im digging the balanced audio too. I WILL miss seeing Saberspark's "This is too good for the likes of UA-cam" comment though 😅.

It really (Redacted) me off that I didn't get notified of this series. This one episode was such a good time and fun to watch with the humor, the characters, and the world it's building. Tomorrow I am gonna watch the other 2 episodes. I really hope more people check this out cause this is genuinely good and brings me such joy to watch.

It's unbealivable how underrated this show is, I've been watching the two episodes that'd been uploaded over and over again for like 3 months now and everything just keeps fascinating me, sadly I don't have much money to support the series as much as I'd like to, but I just hope we can watch this project grow and become what it deserves to. Thanks to the creators for making this unforgettable piece of media.

The series itself is turning out to be pretty good, and the voice characterizations by Jacob Barrens as Shrike Sanchez & Jean-Francois Donaldson as Bulldog Browns certainly help.
This new audio just made me realise how ABSOLUTELY VITAL it can be at times.
The scene where they’re all fighting feels so much more jumpy and faster by simply making the laser gun sounds louder, it’s amazing!

Now this is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED! This is better than most actual animated shows nowadays, and even though that aint saying much, this is still a masterpiece.

The pictures are also interesting as they help show off their personalities
Shrike's is in the moment and goofy, showing his incompetence and love of pizza. Whoever made his description didn't care too much or Shrike is surprisingly under the radar, but I think it's the first.
There's slightly more detail about Bulldog and it treats him as a genuine threat. His picture helps to show him as a gentle gaint with his soft exertion and posing, making the photographer look small.
Someone called 'Primary Red' is mentioned in the news on the scrolling text with a statement about how they hope there won't be another disater when the league of aligned worlds is mentioned, leading me believing their connected.
Just before Bulldog shuts off the news we see a large bounty was issued by the Potoo empire, presumably the one everyone was after.
A white circle, presumably the 'Ghost egg', is orbiting the planet and its moon based on a drawing seen the background they were speaking to Nobert
Tyreens blind minions seem extremely sturdy.

this series is such a piece of work, now that it has its own channel it makes me more excited knowing how committed you guys are to this project! keep it up!!
17:09 I love the little reference to humans in this scene on the "Kill on sight" poster, which is understandable given our history as a species.
I like the way how monkey wrench is dofferent from other shows, doesn't focus soo much on profanity
and it doesn't rely on sex jokes either like Helluva Boss, I mean, I love that show but it can be a little much, especially during scenes that are supposed to be more serious.

That's why I kinda prefer this over Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel. The animation is just better, the writing is funny (and it doesn't rely too much on swearing), and the lore feels deep despite not there not being much revealed yet.

This show deserves all the love and attention it gets.
Every time I watch this episode, I notice more small details that didn't need to be added. On this watch through of this episode, I only now saw that the remote Beebs used to turn off the TV magnetizes to the dashboard to prevent itself from floating away, due to them not having A.G. (Artificial Gravity).
Here’s hoping the algorithm finally gives this the exposure it deserves.

what i love about this show much more than helluva boss is the fact it nails both character and story plot without needing to be overly profane while keeping a steady and consistent pace, not make 100+ antagonists and dump them the next episode never to be seen again.

I think this was the best pilot I ever saw on UA-cam! It didn't feel rush at all even though you had a lot of characters. I honestly love it!!💗💗💗
