Multiple-day Wild Camping Adventure, tracking through one of the last Wild areas in Europe! On this spontaneous camping trip, I took the train from the Netherlands to travel to Eastern Europe. For years already I have been intrigued to explore the rare wild areas in Europe. Stories about lush, still untouched forests. Are they really that wild? Stories about illegal logging and murdering of forest rangers. Stories about bears taking over towns.. …have brought me to Romania. Here I hope to get an idea of the dynamics between humans and nature in these vast landscapes, where we can still find some of the wild origins, of what the temperate zone would have looked like. Something that is not existent anymore in my home country. Let me share this camping trip with you guys! Enjoy!

Thank you for bringing us on this amazing adventure with you. Much appreciated. I would love to explore this area in person. Looks like fun. Reminds me of the Mt Hood national forest area where I grew up.
I like the way you showed appreciation for the slab wood roof. Anyone who watched you build that round house understands your enthusiasm when it comes to building roofs. Very interesting and informative episode. Keep them up. Safe travels.
In Romanian, it's called "șindrilă de lemn". Most houses in the past (about 100-200 years ago) had this kind of roof. Then they switched to something that we call "țiglă ceramică", which is made from sand and argil (potter's clay), burned into fire, which turns into something strong as a brick. However, nowadays, most new houses have metallic roofs.
Thanks a lot guys for you inputs! :)
it really is sad to see an untouched forest being destroyed like it's nothing..
Glad you're back!
Awesome Video! I’d love a gear rundown vid!
Yes :) nieuwe aflevering
My your country fare well, for the future to come!
loving the series so far, keep up the content!
always love your vids, what an epic adventure & such beauiful footage, but also so very sad to see all the logging damage ... what is wrong with some of humanity, why can't they see what this causes!!! So fustrating, but really grateful that you are helping to bring this more into awareness and hope for change in the future ... looking forward to the next episode and also hopefully the round house too..
WOW, you sure are afraid of bears! lol SR
Next adventure I will be more conifdent regarding bears, having some experience now;)
What's the whistle for?
Bears
Hogweed forests smelling like the public urinals, not my favourite plant.
Lol realy':)
Hello!
I live in Romania and I'm glad to see people enjoying the beauty of the nature here!
I just hope people would stop destroying nature, they will only realize how severe these illegal operations are, when it's already too late...
I wish I would've been able to meet you and say "Hello!", at least, but I'm sure I'll have another chance, since you seem to have enjoyed your stay in Romania!
Stay safe out there!
Are more trees being cut down due to the current crisis?
@@memyself3579 Wood is getting more and more expensive, so it's even more profitable to illegally cut down wood, the situation sucks...
@@Tonirel But if the wood is getting more and more expensive, it means the wood cutting is slowing down, because scarcity = value. If people cut fewer trees, there is less wood available for buying, and therefore is more expensive, assuming the demand for wood stays the same. Basic economics.
@@Tonirel Is it that, or is it the need for heat to survive during the current crisis ?
Beautiful nature! Thank you for sharing this adventures trip, Julius.
Beautiful! This is on my bucket list since a long time.
This Landscape is unbelievably beautiful. So sad that the last wild Forests are being destroyed for monetary gain.
Wow amazing video ! Good luck!
Beautiful forrest and mountains, too bad the authorities do nothing to stop the carnage . Great video and hello from the US(Alabama).Thanks.
I finally got the time to watch the series! Yes, I am interested in a gear video. Considering that you went off-road in dense undergrowth with shorts on, how did you keep the ticks away? I doubt the local healthcare would have helped much if you got Lyme.
Such a beautiful country, sad to see all of the logging but we've become accustomed to tooth picks and toilet paper!
What ever happened to the ninety day round house survival?
My guess they have 90 days of footage to edit into a watchable run of videos. Takes time to do that. I hope so anyway because it’s one I have been really looking forward to.
@@pilgrimgrey4191 same i can’t wait for it!
Didn't they say there was some copyright infringement problem, or something?
@@memyself3579 how so? That’s the weirdest thing ever. They build a round house theirselves but can’t record them actually trying to live there?
@@zombi3blood66 No idea. That's all I recollect being said.
Julius, I just recently discovered your channel and by now have watched almost every video. Its great seeing how the channel developed over the last 5 years or so. I hope you keep up the spirit and continue. Greetings from not so mushy Germany ;)
Haha, nice one. Welcome!
20 minutes always pass so quickly! Can't wait for the next one.
Your channel is severely underrated. Amazing content and quality. Thanks for the great stuff
U Life my Dream , i Hope to Travel to romania next summer/Fall too
The world has to see this!!!!
Amazing footage. So exciting and interesting. You are so brave and a brilliant videographer.
Thanks for sharing the wilderness and the beauty of Romania. Be safe out there🤟
Friend you're cool. And I decided to build my dugout in a remote forest. 😀
Yes gear list video would be awesome 👍😎
Greeting from Indonesia 🇮🇩 ❤
Ik geniet echt van deze serie, ik denk je beste tot zover. Vooral zo door blijven gaan. Ik kan niet wachten op je volgende video. Love from the Netherlands ❤️
Smart move to carry a whistle around your neck 24/7. I made that mandatory in all outdoor classes. Where bear spray works for it to be efficient they are already to close for comfort. So in addition I would carry a loud air horn. They are pretty cheap and not illegal in most countries. I can imagine all this camera gear does weight a lot but your camera work is great giving us a great view of nature.
O jezus o jezus wat een avontuur...
Nou doen we hier in nederland ook niet echt ons best voor wat ooit de mooiste en grootste rivieren delta van West-Europa was.
Op naar de volgende aflevering👍
Sunt multe locuri frumoase și sălbatice in România, și e o țara liberă in care poți face foc și multe alte chestii in natura 🇹🇩🇹🇩
I have no idea how you do it. Backpacking is already hard enough on marked trails. Doing all of this in untouched land, lugging filming equipment, completely by yourself? You are strong bro!
I just discovered your amazing channel and I am absolutely stunned and surprised about this video in specific. I am myself half romanian and I roamed as one of the very few people these remote virgin forest valleys in Fagaras. This might be the first video on youtube where someone explores one of these valleys and im happy more and more awareness raises to protect these hidden gems. From what it looks like this must have been Valea Urlea, where I climbed the last time in 2014.
I also filmed my trip through another wild valley in the very west of Fagaras and I hope I can upload the film in the next weeks. There need to be released more awareness to these last gems.
You got yourself in a potential dangerous situation following that river down the wild valley without turistic markings just by yourself. Bears live in those dense bushy places you could have easily been attacked by surprise and probably nobody would have known where you dissapeared. Fagaras is my favourite mountain range, it is like a little Yellowstone, sadly the corruption is destroying the virgin forests year after year.
Love Romania ❤
Julius, you need to watch some backpacking channels and pick up some lighter gear to carry! Backpackers carry a lot of camera equipment too, but they're traveling a lot lighter and more comfortable than you.
Those who destroy the remnant old forests should get the hardest penalty imaginable. Sins against nature are not forgivable. But as long as the people who have a conscience tolerate morally corrupt decision makers in politics, our earth ("mother" nature) will be completely destroyed.
Love when you upload 🤟🏻
I just recently found your channel and have subscribed. Thank you for sharing your adventures. Be careful out there. -From Alabama, USA. I would love to see the gear you took
Hey there. May I ask what camera gear are you using? Your videos look awesome! Also, more about your camping gear too!
Really like ur trip!!! Have friends over there, I need to visit soon! Hope I can come in the same area!!! Really beautiful 🤩
I like you, bro! You got SPIRIT. God bless you on your adventures into the wild!
U crazy bru u at least need a rifle. There’s so many random bear attacks that happen we’re people do all the “right” things n still get killed man.
Sad to see the logging. I don't mind living off the forest and falling trees to build with. But on large scale like that. Always left a bad taste in my mouth.
The spruce forest you entered in the valley is definitly not ancient. Yes, som old trees, but thats it. Hoped to see some footage of viring forest. A ancient forest or old growth would have almost more dead trees then live ones in some areas. Anyway nice to some video from the Carpathian mountains
bears go all the way up mountains. a few years ago, one has been spotted at 3500m near the sustenhorn in switzerland...
Hi Julius, which boots did you use on your trip? awsome footage by the way! can't wait to see more!
Hi very interesting video.
Did you have a bear spray? is that allowed in Romenia?
Love your videos man keep it up! From Washington state.
woooooop 🥰
Amazing! Thank you for sharing this Trip. Greetings from Germany ✌️
Always interested in the gear vid. What ya bring? What ya bring??
I wish you the beer, you keep talking about. 🍺😂
Nice hike Julius! Romania has a lot of beautiful nature. It comes with bears as well, but most of the time they avoid us humans. Doing well there man!
Next adventure I will be more conifdent regarding bears, having some experience now;) Thanks!
This is your best stuff yet my dude. Keep up the quality content!
i dont get it, if you see a beer just drink it, bruh! whats the matter with you?
There we go
Kod nas se za takve ljude kaze da nisu bas normalni
I love this channel. You should come do an american episode
This would be such a great adventure.
Zou Bear Grylls ook "hey bear" roepen tegen beren? #levensvragen
Hey julis, why don’t you try using different ways to start fires like using magnesium/flint
Also love to see more foraging too :) keep up the good work! Thanks for the videos!
Didn't I use a ferrorod in this video;) In the roundhouse series you can expect me to use the flint more;) Thanks for the sugestions!
I appreciate the distance shots that give a sense of the journey and distance travelled. They definitely enhance the video but they must take so much time to set up. That's dedication.
Being so far out in nature, one has to be super careful
Well done! Nice to learn something.
Incredible video - as always. I think you're overreacting to the bears, but that's very easy to type from the comfort of my keyboard.
Next adventure I will be more conifdent regarding bears, having some experience now;)
I love your channel. ✌️❤️🍁
Smooth gefixt ouwe maar waar is part 3 ouwe😂
not the beers! NOT THE BEERS!!!
What do you need a hat for? I've never used one.
Mooi filmpje, maar je uitspraak van het woord bear is een beetje irritant. Gelukkig in de voice-over gecorrrigeerd.
Jaa dat vind ik ook, nu niets meer aan te doen..
All those damn flies :D
had je een route die je ging goed of zo op pad???
Dude would love to see a video detailing the gear! Would love recommendations for simple / minimalistic gear for camping in the autumn / winter.
…and - let’s do a collab video - outdoor / wild cooking
Such beautiful wilderness 🌱🌼🌞
Still Alive & kicking, good to see you old friend!
✌😃 thankYOU
Probaly beer country
SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH gefixed jonge!!!
Then go and drink it 🍺
What about ticks
such good content
🌤👋🏻
Thanks mate
👏👏👏👏
I live in Canada, almost every time I camp...I'm in bear, wolf and coyote country.
Nature is a beautiful thing!!
The sad thing is that every time I go out, I see people's garbage that they leave in the woods....that should be a sin and I wish people had more respect for nature.
Smooth💪
I really like your adventure friend, may the beautiful nature always be maintened and sustainable
I have never heard of this channel but it popped up in my feed, part 1 was great and watching 2 now. This is the prettiest place I have seen in Europe. These seems like a ton of work placing a camera so get a shot of you walking away and having to back track to get it! You would be in heaven here in North America with all our our vast wilderness. I can't imagine going into bear territory without a gun or at least bear spray. Im surprised there are no big cats there, they are all over in North America, and even in places the local officials do not official recognize they are
Here we Go.. SMOOTH.💯🙏👍
Amazing Aerial Shots
I would love to see gear used near the beginning of the video. I haven’t watched in a while and your production value has skyrocketed. Love the animal species descriptions
I'd want a beer to get through that lot too, it's definitely Beer country.🤣🤣🤣 Great Video Julius 👍
Been watching since the beginning and this is some of, if not your best work Julius. Well Done!!
Here in the wilds of Vermont we have a brown bear who visits us every three days, hoping we have left out a bird feeder or some trash. Luckily, they usually turn and walk away if disturbed, as long as they do not have young with them.
The editing and cinematography game has improved so damn much in such a short time. 10/10
How often did you blow the whistle?
Not enouh to notice the bear in episode 3:P
Any news on the round house project?
I gues it would be good oen to do a channel update video on this soon;)
How do you deal with all the bugs?
this time they were just innocent buzzign flies, apart from the annoying sound, they didn';t do much harm
This must be your best video so far! Excited for next episode.
