True true. He just gets so much I didnt even think about. And Im a person that thinks a lot about psychological things like relationships, my own psyche, how things look from other people's perspective, what is right or wrong for me and for others and what not. And with all that I cant come even close to drawing such a clear picture as him. Not even close.
charles ezzell I'm trying to learn from him how to help a young person betrayed in the worst way by a father! I'm sorry for your loss of your father! Mine was a good guy & passed when I was 16. I was lucky to have 2 parents that taught us many ideals said by J.P.
I'm also 34 and never knew my father - I felt lost because of this most of my life. I got in touch with him a few years ago and realised he was suffering with Schizophrenia and was quite abusive towards me. The whole ordeal left me depressed and suicidal. I tried to pick myself up and after many trail and errors in searching for something I came across Dr. Peterson and after about 4 months of listening to his talks, lectures and books, I've finally turned my life around and am able to stick to a schedule. I am applying to university to become a paramedic. I wouldn't have believed it if someone told me that was possible.

Know that those of us listening to and heeding Peterson's words support you unequivocally. It is YOU, and me, and humanity to whom he speaks. So much of what he says we've heard before. But he connects the dots, demonstrating exactly how support of our fellow humans raises us when we do it. He explains how his guidelines work, why they do, and he makes us understand. Not one who read the great philosophers nor could have followed what they imparted if I had Peterson simplifies their meanings so I can understand.

I love that Peterson is considered a "revolutionary" thinker for just saying everything out grandfathers had attempted to teach us. Being an old soul living in a big city has felt like living on a different planet. If this is the man who popularises common sense - more power to him
He is a revolutionary thinker because he filters everything our ancestors including our grandfathers said, breaks down what works and what is right and tells us exactly why that is. But it needs to be this way, the truthful path is painful, now however, I am beginning to hold my head higher thanks to applying what this man has taught us. What a beautiful and noble soul. The father I never had.
it's painful, yeah, but at least it has some purpose. It also at least has a real promise for you to become the better version of yourself that is even above than what you used to see as the maximum limit of yourself. Imagine not only reaching your dream, but rising above that some more. You CAN do that, and yeah, I know you don't really believe you can (just mere hoping it's a possibility). Your current doubt will only make you even happier when you do come to realization of the "omg it's actually happening, it really is"

The term "motivational speech" is very loaded. People expect something like Shia's "Yesterday you said tomorrow, so just do it". But this is not what happens here. It's an honest, psychologically informed set of tips on how to actually make yourself want to get off your butt and do things.

Ranting for catharsis right now... I have had a problem with my own dealings of stress for some time now. Like a fight or flight response, I have turned to “run away” from the confrontations of my own mind. Stress management has been a real issue for me lately: therefore, my life management has taken a toll. Yet JP is making me understand that “stress” is both the spike and the shovel. My decisions essentially decide whether I choose to dig or climb out of the hole I’m in. The shovel makes me feel safe for a time. It’s a comforting feeling to seep into the mindlessness of escapism. You look into the darkness of the earth and get lost in its nothingness. You put a veil over your stress. The ladder is like throwing alcohol to the wound. You blind yourself to the light above. Every inch upwards makes your muscles ache, especially when you aren’t used to holding your own weight. It is what true living feels like. It hurts but you adapt and grow. If you made it through this, thanks for listening. I plan to continue living my life at a more aware level and carry my decisions with more weight. I hope you do as well.

Cat's Schrödinger I agree, I have had the chord progressions stuck in my head after watching these. Music can be so meaningful and coupled with these speeches transcends the mere musical notation, it improves these powerful sections of his speeches and he improves the pattern of the music in turn.
This video and Jordan's teachings will outlive us all. Jordan says what we feel we already know because the truths he speaks are true irrespective of the time they are spoken.
Stop doing the things you know you are doing that is not helping you...best place to start! I can listen this sage all day long! His voice laces my heart with strength, wisdom and hope! Deeply thankful JP.🙏🙏🙏
Jordan "you could ask yourself" Peterson. What a genius.. Made me ask myself: Do people ever ask themselves ANYTHING? And I kind of revealed to me that crappy people NEVER ask themselves anything, just actions and ego
6th time listening 2nd commit. He saves my life. Jordan Peterson talks.. My mind has no defense and learns from this man... Only if I knew of him 23 years ago
We were never told this. I've always lived in two extremes as far as people's reactions to me and encouragement to get on with life: Apathy and nagging. We never had anyone like professor Peterson who knows about life and who actually gives a damn about figuring things out. Someone who's tough AND wise, not friends who are just as stupid as I am yelling that I should get it together. We've all been robbed. Maybe Peterson can help us to help ourselves to get back just a little bit of what we've lost. I'm sure there are hopeless cases among us and perhaps I'm one of them but at least we're getting some fucking courage for once.
This is everything you need to know about him. He actually helps people to go stop regretting every second they spend living a miserable life. He says things we deep down all know but we need to hear it to actually do it. He is the key to unlock what waits within all of us.
the only thing stopping me from improving myself is all these Peterson videos...theres no end and i cant stop watching! its a catch 22, u either watch him, or clean ur room..do one thing
This man changed my life. And I'm not ashamed for it. I got into the best university in my country and started a postgraduate course, all inspired by this man.
At the end there, he's talking about his 'true self' (the neutral observer/critic) watching his ego run amok...this is well on the way to 'awakening' and that's why he's so easy to listen to because his is speaking his truth as he knows it, no agenda, for the good of all and we sense that from him. We can all do this, we will eventually all do this, then our world will change for the better.
Every individual who confronts life courageously and realizes the monumental impact they can have through their words and actions becomes an incredibly powerful force capable of incredible positive influence. Any small improvement is worth every moment of effort and can lead to a lifetime of fulfillment. Everyone is exactly what they choose to be, and although there are some cases where life tosses a curve ball or somebody really screws you over or your grade on a test is failing by just a few points or you get fired from a job because you were a few minutes late---there's always an opportunity out there somewhere. There's somebody out there who won't screw you over. There are tests you won't fail and many great things you can do and many great people you can inspire to be just the tiny bit less nihilistic and the tiniest bit less vengeful and the tiniest bit less depressed. You can be that person. If you truly wish, you can write down the things you want to do, how you want to go about doing them, what habits you want to break, and how you want to break them. The world is how you see it and your life is what you make of it. And instead of looking at that statement negatively, if you seek to accept that you can change the world with just the smallest portion of positive influence, you will find you are so very powerful. And if there are two of you or three or four, imagine what you can do. Imagine how much of an impact you can make by taking responsibility for the things in your life. The perfect life doesn't exist and a life without suffering doesn't exist either. But perhaps a life featuring suffering can be made meaningful. Perhaps it can.
the whining "many" are actually not that many but loud minority. Because 80% of viewers do not comment at all. Of those that comment either to complain about something that really bothered them or those that liked this very very much to put the effort for a comment. Of those viewers that didn't comment a good 60% agree to or like the video and 40% that were neither amazed nor disliked it
Also keep in mind the whiners here are a good portion of those young people that go out of their way to be not like the 'majority". Even if it meant being seen as a fool, their craving for attention (oh wow, he must have realized something we didn't-this one's a fantasy that literally only happens in their head with loud applause at the end) is satisfied. They will go to the lenghts of stating something they don't even agree tbh only to satisfy the craving to stand out AT ALL COSTS, because he must be oh so smart to realize something the majority of sheeple dont. At this point the "sheeple" are the minority and the obnoxious "unlike others" edgy are the bigger portion (tbf the attention crave is quite addicting and is infectious disease)
I don't know why I'm so lazy!I know all the consequences of not doing what I know I should do, and sill I don't do it! It's so hard to do pull myself together, and be productive! I fall into all the short term pleasures that I can get, and end up hating myself because of it. I see others go out and just do their thing, and I'm almost mind blown that they actually do it and just stick to it! I really want to be better..
It's been a year since your comment, so I hope you've found some way to overcome this and get after it. But if not, for you or for others, I'd like to lend some perspective. Genuinely, exactly what the commenter above me said; start with cleaning your room. I know most people see it as a meme or a catchphrase, but that is one small thing you can easily exert power over and take ownership of, and at the end of it you'll find that the momentum keeps you going and moves you on to the next thing. It doesn't have to literally be cleaning your room, but pick one thing you've been putting off for a while. For me, it's usually dishes. I'll let them pile up on the countertop for ages sometimes. I start by saying, "I'll scrub this one lasagne dish. That's the one thing I need to do." That's it. Do that one thing. That's all you have to promise yourself. And I will always, without fail, end up washing all the other dishes, because "I'm already doing it, might as well do the whole pile of dishes." And then, I'll wipe the kitchen countertops, I'll put my laundry on because I'm already in "cleaning mode". Then I'll run the vacuum around, maybe wipe some of the surfaces while I'm at it. Before I know it, I've cleaned my entire apartment. And I feel awesome. And I'm on a roll. So then I do whatever needs my attention next; applying for new jobs, getting some writing done, I head to the gym, whatever it is that needs to be done at that point, I've got the momentum from the stuff I've already finished, I've got the good feeling of accomplishment that makes me crave more, and I always end up having a productive day as a result of that. And it all started from cleaning one dish. Momentum is an incredibly powerful thing.
I love Jordan's candour ... when people speak truth to you it builds integrity in the recipients soul... they are worth it!! No lying. It's respect and honesty which is the straightest path to walk out their individual goals. This is strength, truth and hope for your future.... so grateful you shared this message ... God Bless you!
8:50 He has helped so many people. It scares some because he never says blame others and play the victim. JPs gift is how he shows people to stop wasting their life.
Still learning to compromise with myself and schedule my days better but his words motivate me to want to be a better member of society and to strive to be a person that I like.
everytime i listen to him, I start thinking about whole life and evaluate it objectively and then I resist to accept the mistakes that i have been making, but the way he delivers these messages, makes it very hard to completely ignore them, so they do stay in my sub conscious mind that something needs to done and if done religiously , it can make me progress exponentially
Jordan Peterson & Les Brown I would have to say are 2 men that have totally changed my way of thinking about things and are responsible for reorganizing my life. Now things are so much better because of these two gentlemen who deserve to be acknowledged to all of the World.
if the left would just stop a sec. and listen to him, he is so far from a threat, he is a very compassionate man...and has a finger on the pulse of the world...
I think this is my favorite video of the hundreds I've watched of his. I owe Dr P for the last year of my life. Thank you, thank you. Slaying tiny baby dragons. One day at a time. My schedule is Dr P, work, DrP, work, DrP

the clip at 4:02 is insanely on point. He articulated it so well. That's how you truly declutter mental noise. Besides meditation, obviously.
Wow... 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Thank you Dr. Jordan Peterson and the man who created this video. ❤
I absolutely seriously love this man 💞
If anything I think the music enhanced it. Love this guy and love you guys for showing me this guy
Cat's Schrödinger I agree, I have had the chord progressions stuck in my head after watching these. Music can be so meaningful and coupled with these speeches transcends the mere musical notation, it improves these powerful sections of his speeches and he improves the pattern of the music in turn.
Cat's Schrödinger I agree, these videos are great.
Anyone know what track the music is? I know the artist is Borrtex but I can't find which song.
Jordan Peterson makes lives better. I thank God for him.
The father I never had.
Dude.....the ad killed the vibe.

This video and Jordan's teachings will outlive us all. Jordan says what we feel we already know because the truths he speaks are true irrespective of the time they are spoken.
I look for Professor Peterson before anything else on youtube. I'd love to be a student in his class. My life will never be the same. Thank you !!!
How can anyone give this thumbs down? This man is a gift to the world.
A certain group in society really dislike him. They cannot articulately explain why, its sad.
May Jordan find his health again and keep inspiring us with such Magnificat information and guidance
Stop doing the things you know you are doing that is not helping you...best place to start!
I can listen this sage all day long! His voice laces my heart with strength, wisdom and hope! Deeply thankful JP.🙏🙏🙏
This man cares for mankind !
Listen to his talks they are life changing !!!!
Thank goodness in a world of people telling you what you want to hear, there is a man like Jordan Peterson telling us what we need to hear.
I'm very glad I'm born in this era with Jordan Peterson
Jordan "you could ask yourself" Peterson. What a genius.. Made me ask myself: Do people ever ask themselves ANYTHING? And I kind of revealed to me that crappy people NEVER ask themselves anything, just actions and ego
You have no idea how efficient efficient people are. It's off the charts.
Thank you for posting this video. I'm so grateful for Dr. Peterson's common sense and wisdom.
😍
6th time listening 2nd commit. He saves my life. Jordan Peterson talks.. My mind has no defense and learns from this man... Only if I knew of him 23 years ago
This video saved my life 3 years ago. Thank you…
We were never told this.
Well said my man. Well said.
This is everything you need to know about him. He actually helps people to go stop regretting every second they spend living a miserable life. He says things we deep down all know but we need to hear it to actually do it. He is the key to unlock what waits within all of us.
But but but courage is male toxicity...
I get you
the only thing stopping me from improving myself is all these Peterson videos...theres no end and i cant stop watching! its a catch 22, u either watch him, or clean ur room..do one thing
The Father we all wished we had (especially those that did not have one ) .
Music changes the lectures into an emotion. I no longer hear what he says, I feel it.
Jordan Peterson , you're wright , i listen you motivation speech a lot , respect , fan from Belgium
Love the clips and love the music. Great job.
Mulligan brothers awsome editing, i really like it. I'm watching this almost every day. Hope you'll continue making this great content
I watch this everytime I feel lost
wow, jordan peterson is amazing! love the music, its a nice touch. subbed because of this guy.
Apparently contrary to many here I actually like the piano
the whining "many" are actually not that many but loud minority.
They are a minority of babies.
Same
me too!
Thanks for upload this video, is really Strong
I don't know why I'm so lazy!I know all the consequences of not doing what I know I should do, and sill I don't do it! It's so hard to do pull myself together, and be productive! I fall into all the short term pleasures that I can get, and end up hating myself because of it.
I see others go out and just do their thing, and I'm almost mind blown that they actually do it and just stick to it!
I really want to be better..
Same here lol
start with cleaning your room
Adoring this man. I am so glad people like him exist...
God.....this is smth that evey person on earth should watch
8:50 He has helped so many people. It scares some because he never says blame others and play the victim. JPs gift is how he shows people to stop wasting their life.
I see how deeply Jordan just wants to help, he doesn't say things just to sound smart, he really wants to heal the world
Still learning to compromise with myself and schedule my days better but his words motivate me to want to be a better member of society and to strive to be a person that I like.
Genius 😇🙏🏼
everytime i listen to him, I start thinking about whole life and evaluate it objectively and then I resist to accept the mistakes that i have been making, but the way he delivers these messages, makes it very hard to completely ignore them, so they do stay in my sub conscious mind that something needs to done and if done religiously , it can make me progress exponentially
Finger on the pulse of the world. Nice expression.
@Scott Paulson Unfortunately you are right
I like how you put that
Ed Ursino come to the light brotha, socialism is a chain.
He is despised because he speaks the truth they deny about themselves that everyone is equally responsible for their own destruction and destinies.
I think this is my favorite video of the hundreds I've watched of his. I owe Dr P for the last year of my life. Thank you, thank you. Slaying tiny baby dragons. One day at a time. My schedule is Dr P, work, DrP, work, DrP
Thank You Dr Peterson ❤️🙏
My father wasn’t someone to look up to. So I’m grateful dr Peterson is willing to share his profound and useful knowledge
I will play this video every morning on my way in to work. This is GOLD!
Imagine going to your lectures on another day of your studies and you get a speech that literally changes your life
How lucky these students are
I wish I had a Professor like Dr. Peterson
We all had. We've just failed to recognize them.
So true for many of us.
Simple, I love this man.
This is the pathway to success a good nights sleep and a drug-free life.
Gordon Gravelle Me too man.
what's wrong with drugs?
can i at least smoke a joint?
I personally restrict myself to either a sativa or an indica and sometimes a little of something in between. Take control of your question and replace the word 'can' with 'should.' Have a great day, that's also up to you!
I take it you've never heard Jordan Peterson talk about psilocybin or MDMA?
Thank you for being a miracle Dr Peterson.
He is amazing. I really appreciate his work.
10:24 This is where you'll pick up more meaning and motivation. "The things that you do and don't do are far more important than you think"
