I had a similar surgery done as a child I was born with spina-bifida but was lucky enough too have a lipoma block the defect even tho it caused damage to my spinal cord until it was partially removed.

I have a ruptured disk, which is now called a dry disk, with a pinched nerve and sciatica down both sides, and DDD! 🙄😔

@@ssingh8307 My lower back ( don't remember whether it's an L4 or L5), but the disk between the vertebrae is ruptured and no longer there, which means it is now a " dry" disk, which is " bone on bone", and if I turn even an 8th of an inch the wrong way, I can barely walk or stand up for sometimes 3 days.
I believe that is when the nerve in between the vertebrae gets pinched.
The Sciatica is caused also by pinched nerves in my lower back, but from somewhere else. That causes pain to radiate down my legs.
The DDD, Degenerative Disk Disease, is a form of arthritis, and yes, narrowing of the spine. It also means deterioration. It gets worse with age, and there is no cure for it.

Why won't doctors recommend this practice instead of pumping patients up with pain medicine and physical therapy? For financial gain?
Surgery sometimes can leave worse so it’s better to try conservative way . I know people who had surgery and they ended worse and the regret having the surgery .
@@nildadel9795 but I had this for a year and it's not even a little better. I did stretches and the rubber band and heat and ice therapy. Pain caused me to be homeless. I'm taking the surgery.
