I nearly had a heart attack during the Force Awakens because when Starkiller Base fired on the New Republic central leadership, I assumed they meant Coruscant. A quick Google search afterward put my mind at ease.
EDIT: Just learned that J.J. Abrams originally wanted to blow up Coruscant but was stopped when pretty much everyone told him how bad of an idea that was.

If Earth has been in the outer rim of the unknown regions this entire time, when all of that multi-hundred-thousand years of war, space faring existence, old lived-in tech, and the Force finally reach us, we're going to feel REALLY left out of the party. Imagine if something like this is going on in our galaxy right now -- has been going on for millennia, -- and we're just over here in the corner picking our noses and finger painting on the walls without the slightest clue.
If this exists, we would be in wild space.

What if the rapid radio bursts our instruments find emitting from space are "Death Star" weapons or large explosions.
first of all, we're in a different Galaxy, the star wars Galaxy isn't the milky way, secondly, bc of trailer paradox, star wars has a ridiculously low change of existing, let alone somehow being the milky way the entire time

Since all movies state "In a galaxy far far away", Earth simpy can't be Coruscant, except Disney decides to throw the SW Galaxy Maps into the bin like they do with EU/Legends.
So Earth would be way outside the Unknown Regions, since the Unknown Regions itself seem to be a part of the Galaxy, in which SW takes place, which just isn't discovered and cartographed properly.
So, if they would cartograph these Unknown Regions properly, the Unknown Regions then would just be part of the Outer Rim.
Other Galaxies, like our milkyway galaxy, then would become "Unknown Regions".
It would be funny (and giving the abrahametic religions the finger), if they'd write a story of force users accidentally being catapulted out of the SW galaxy into our galaxy, landing on antic earth, so basically Jesus would be a Jedi.

Who knows, there could be some truth to this. And if you believe in an infinite multiverse then you must also believe in the concept of infinite pattern repetition. Which means that all possible arrangements of patterns will exist in some or even infinite forms. Yes there would be a universe where this sequence of events has played out for real, exactly as you described it. Even the laws of physics can be slightly different, in that they have extra laws like the force. It's hard to wrap your head around, but it is totally possible nonetheless.

Usually Earth would be defeated by any intergalactic civilization with the capability of orbital bombardment and near infinite resources. One of the many reasons why we should unite now while we have the chance. Anyways, *our impending doom* aside, we obviously stand a much greater chance in regular planetary combat _(sea, land and air)._
Though it really depends on the era and if it's a fight until death, because if the Republic NEVER surrenders they would win.

Y’all realize that screen depiction of Blasters is like screen depictions of firearms in movies right? Meant to be pretty, not accurate, blaster bolts travel at near light speed, and make almost any armor obsolete. Most slug throwers in Star Wars, even Luke’s rifle in episode 4, are RAIL GUNS, yeah an ak isn’t doing much in anything but the most primitive backwaters and low budget gang wars. Not to mention the ludicrous toughness of species like Gamoreans, Wookiee’s, trandoshans, etc.
@@JacatackLP Stated max range of a blaster is about 400 metres for a carbine and maybe pushing it to 600m for a precision rifle. An M4 would probably be able to shoot farther than a blaster, never mind an M16, Ak74/47, or practically any other service rifle today, and let's not forget things like sniper rifles. A Stormtroopers armour might stop the bullet, but hard plate like that wouldn't do so well against the kinetic impact (i.e. the primary damage component), it's plastic after all.
Also, we'd likely end up fielding personal deflector shields before long. And those big races can be dealt with through .50cal rifles, hollow points and so forth.
I'm also pretty sure that those were just regular old chemically propelled slug throwers. Personal electromagnetic catapults haven't really been depicted in the Star Wars yet.

Not to mention it has taken armor thousands of years to develop in the Star Wars universe to the point where it is now and the armor that does exist is often mostly to offer protection against glancing blows. Also you realize Plastoid isn’t plastic right? Stormtrooper breastplates are immune to all but extremely large caliber rounds, which is why rebel operatives needed a slugthrower due to local laws or other circumstances they’d take a roughly 50 caliber pistol usually as a last resort.

I imagine that after Hosnian Prime got dusted, the center of galactic political power defaulted back to Coruscant. After the events of The Rise of Skywalker, it's possible that this is where New Republic II set up shop. Hopefully, I'll find out when The New Jedi Order is released. 🤔

Hi I loved legends, so sad that people like Darth Nihilus are not cannon anymore, BUT I actually loved force awakens, and then the last Jedi comes in and destroys every thing with the force awakens: Darth Pla- I mean Snoke: Dead. Luke: Dead. Poe: went from being a cool character to being an immature idiot. Rey: her power went from being slightly far fetched but possible, TO UTTERLY UNBELIEVABLE! And the light speed ramming? It made all space battles hard to watch knowing that the rebels could have just rammed the Death Star, and saved a lot of resources. ALSO KILLING DARTH PLAGUEIS BEFORE I COULD RUB IT IN MY DADS FACE THAT I WAS RIGHT?! (Joke). Another thing: DOING THAT TO LUKE?! MY CHILDHOOD HERO?!
Thank you for your time in reading this, but one last thing: I did ENJOY this movie, but I hate what it did to the universe story wise. I think the movie would have been great if it wasn’t cannon. And I was only 1 when revenge of the Sith was released, so I always loved the prequels, so I am glad that they have been getting much more love lately.
