You didn’t miss out on much not playing it back in the day. You pretty much hit the nail on the head with your description though. It was brutally difficult and I only ever played it if I had friend with a DS irl with me. It was cool to have four exclusive maps but the system was so brutal that you couldn’t really enjoy it. My highest round solo as a kid was probably like 12. Excellent video overall! Glad to see someone dive into this forgotten mode after so long 😅. (Also I made that BO3 map shown off at 34:40 , was so happy when I saw it pop up in the vid lol)

That is true! Though I feel the console MW3 also did a better job of making the assets go together a bit better as they were only re-using stuff from the other Modern Warfare games. N-Space made every DS CoD game and so could re-use assets from all of them if they wanted! While there was a bit of this in Black Ops here (the PPSH is from World At War) the different game models clash a bit more in Modern Warfare 3 where the AK47 from Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops now appear in the same game, with the MW2 one being renamed to something slightly different, or in some missions you might have brand new weapons for MW3 but the character models are all American soldiers wearing their vietnam uniforms. It’s not bad necessarily, and I don’t bring it up to bash the game or anything I don’t blame them for doing it, but especially if you played through all of them, it would really stick out!

I absolutely adore this video. my first cod game was actually World at War on the DS and i bought it under the assumption that it would have the zombies mode, but alas, it didn't lol. so it was really nice to see you breakdown the zombies mode so extensively here as it was fulfilling a weird childhood wish that i had. definitely tho, the DS aesthetic really lends a hand here in making everything here strangely creepy along with it just being such a massive vibe inherently. this was such a lovely video lexi :-]

This is the only Call Of Duty game I ever played on the DS but I enjoyed it. I also think it plays better on a 3DS thanks to that console including a smooth joystick which made moving your character a bit of a breeze compared to a regular DS. In terms of Nazi Zombies. Never played it as much although I did enjoy the campaign & training room. I remember discovering a cool easter egg in the locked Weapons Room that you can only unlock (i think) by increasing your weapon skills which has a crossbow. Great video as always Lexx!

The only possibility I can think of is that they made these changes to intentionally make the mode as short as possible - I’ve looked into it a bit more and didn’t bring it up because I could just be overthinking or whatever, but (according to the CoD Wiki at least I obviously couldn’t test this myself) once you start getting past Round 20 the AI of the zombies start to get really weird with them glitching and getting stuck in corners. If I had to guess, with the tight deadlines of the game, they probably didn’t have nearly enough time to polish the mode up and remove these glitches, so tried to make it harder so it would be more difficult to encounter them. Also on the other hand, with how the DS already struggles with rendering however many zombies there are on the lower rounds, maybe they struggled to make higher rounds more difficult normally as there was only so many zombies that could spawn at once? Who knows though to be honest, I think even with all that said, I don’t think having an extra hit before death would have made it THAT much easier, but would have definitely made it a LOT less annnoying

I no-lifed the ds cods. I used to play the mp and mp zombies all the the time, and as someone who didn't own the main games and only had my ds, these games really scratched that itch for playing call of duty. Good times lol
19:07 Now that I think about it, maybe it's because on Black Ops you had to pack-a-punch the M16 to get the grenade launcher, but since there's no pack-a-punch on this version the devs might have still wanted the grenade launcher to be available so they made it 5000 (pack-a-punch price) points more expensive instead.

No world records has been on single player and on multiplayer for high rounds but for some reason you can’t submit your record or the wii version of zombies the higher rounds have only been on multiplayer and never been in single player my highest round in ds in my newest video is 26 many people say they have done 32 but there is no footage they can prove
After playing black ops zombies ds I tried Metroid prime hunters and the controls were 10x better. They were buttery smooth Mouse and keyboard style controls, even the button aiming was better
I’ve never played Armoured Core before, but I know a new one is coming out o: Not a promise or anything but I imagine I’ll check some of the games out at some point, and if I click with them I’ll probably try and find some way to make a video out of it all which would probably be a Port Patrol! YES I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!! The DS Zombies mode imo was so bad, like really just horrible at points, but it had a lot of charm for being on a handheld and I loved playing it as a kid (even if I had better options since I owned the X360 version of Black Ops lmao)

I usually love your videos so I’ll try and be constructive here. This video could have been half its length, from talking in circles about points you already discussed, to an unusually slow cadence. The video topic is interesting and your observations seem fine but I feel like the video was lacking something else. Maybe more humor would really help from the video feeling boring. In previous entries there was more game content for you to talk about I think. This is all just my opinion and I could very well be the only one that thought this.
Thank you for this :) I can definitely see where you’re coming from, it’s my first time talking on such a specific mode of a game so there’s always stuff I could’ve done better! I think especially the shortness of the mode and the repetitive footage doesn’t help either, I think a lot of the time I would make call backs to previous points I had made without actually realising how soon after that point I was repeating it, it was hard to gauge until it was all put together - Something I’ll definitely try to mind in future!
I these call of dutys development make sense as in this case the hardest part would be building the engine itself and play testing the actual game is pretty sparse and 1 or 2 people could do it plus with all that reuse maybe play testing became less important as time went on i mean obviously there engine was never upgraded much which is no knock to them i mean that kinda game on a DS you can only ask so much of the hardware
I actually prefer this mode of Play more than the console version when it comes to survival mode I want them to be difficult in this has everything that meets that criteria and believe it or not I actually had dreams about this mode new maps 6 new maps in fact this game made my dreams come alive and it made my brain hatch ideas and the knife is better trust me

Yes that’s meant to be Nacht Der Untoten! Or at least, the best recreation of it I can make :) It has Patreon Patrol on the wall into introduce the segment, but it’s meant to be a low poly representation of Nacht! With a few changes - I make all these segments in After Effects and I can’t do very complex 3D shapes with it, so I turned the corner staircase into just a straight one! And I also probably got the scale a bit wrong too because I was making it based on some screenshots I took :’) But yes, that door would be the one that would take you to the room with the random box!

I absolutely love the multiplayers for these games despite their clunkiness, M14 is absolute meta on BO1. Will we ever see a full video about the multiplayers of all the DS CoDs? I think that would be cool to see. Sadly CoD4 doesn’t have online and is local only. Also pro tip about zombies DS. Throwing knife 1-Tap headshots until round 7 or 8. Since you have infinite throwing knives it makes it very easy to reach 2nd and 3rd rooms

A funny thing about the zombies pathfinding I forgot to mention in my original comment. On the 3rd room in House, the short wall in the middle of the room, if you run up against it, the zombies cannot hit you and instead will all pile up and stack onto 1 of 3 different places. It’s pretty funny and the charm is undeniable.
This whole video was a roller coaster for me, almost like a little Christmas present lol. For one thing this game and this mode were such a hyperfixation for me for the longest time and i always love seeing people give a legitimate deep dive into it rather than just look at and play it once and say how bad it is. cod is notorious for model and animation reuse cause they churn out anew game every year. Ghosts reused the entire ending of mw2

With a few changes - I make all these segments in After Effects and I can’t do very complex 3D shapes with it, so I turned the corner staircase into just a straight one! And I also probably got the scale a bit wrong too because I was making it based on some screenshots I took :’) But yes, that door would be the one that would take you to the room with the random box!
Wow, comparing the voices between you in this video and the videos just 4 years ago you sound so different. You sounded way more confident in your speech back then too. Also, just realized you changed the name of the channel for some reason. Honestly, you should love yourself, feel comfortable and confident in who you are instead of putting on a mask and hiding from reality. I really used to love your content 4 years ago when you were covering all the cod games on Nintendo DS. Those videos were awesome and this was a great one too!

Ayo ayo hit me up we finna gotta get a 1v1 on the DS CoD games 👀 (Seriously, I would love to). I absolutely love the multiplayers for these games despite their clunkiness, M14 is absolute meta on BO1. Will we ever see a full video about the multiplayers of all the DS CoDs? I think that would be cool to see. Sadly CoD4 doesn’t have online and is local only.
Also pro tip about zombies DS. Throwing knife 1-Tap headshots until round 7 or 8. Since you have infinite throwing knives it makes it very easy to reach 2nd and 3rd rooms

A funny thing about the zombies pathfinding I forgot to mention in my original comment. On the 3rd room in House, the short wall in the middle of the room, if you run up against it, the zombies cannot hit you and instead will all pile up and stack onto 1 of 3 different places. It’s pretty funny and the charm is undeniable.
This whole video was a roller coaster for me, almost like a little Christmas present lol.
For one thing this game and this mode were such a hyperfixation for me for the longest time and i always love seeing people give a legitimate deep dive into it rather than just look at and play it once and say how bad it is.
Another is that i missed a lot of your more recent videos somehow and i was happy to see you upload again since ive been subbed for years now.

As I’ve made more videos I’ve definitely found myself more interested in specific parts of games and especially trying to give them a chance to stand on their own rather than compare it to other things, like I did in the original video where I was like “well it’s not like the actual Black Ops zombies so it must be bad” :’) it’s cool to shine a light on obscure things like that, even if they do end up being a bit bad but for different reasons than first expected :’D
