I love my hybrid working schedule as a computational biologist. I spend two weeks out of the month sequencing DNA, then two weeks analyzing data. It allows for a better work/life balance for sure! I find that utilizing all the virtual tools available through your company (MS Teams, Sharepoint, etc) really helps to stay connected to your colleagues.
I have never heard of hybrid working before! Thanks for breaking it down, the workplace is changing so much post-covid. I prefer to just strictly work from home.
Thanks for watching. Every option...working from home, working at the office and hybrid working definitely has its Pros/Cons. It is interesting to see how organizations are dealing with the fact that people are liking working from home. This is why hybrid working may be the perfect compromise. Cheers.
I work as a Data Scientist / Architect for a Fortune 500 company and we utilize SAFE Agile to address business & technical demands. We currently have no issues w/a Hybrid workforce. Our management & upper management teams stay involved and communicate weekly via Zoom meetings, and we have daily stand-up meetings to address status updates or to communicate risks/delays; thus no issues w/the lack of networking. I've been working from home, prior to the Covid-19 outbreak and can accomplish so much more when I'm not being interrupted by colleagues in the office.
Hi Teri. Thanks so much for watching and your comment. I am happy to hear that you have been able to accomplish what you and your colleagues need to since the COVID-19 outbreak. Sounds like you and your company have really stepped up to the plate during these difficult times to ensure business conducts as usual. Thanks for sharing. Stay well. Cheers!
The pro of flexibility of hybrid working is a great one. It is so nice to be able to flex your work in with your personal stuff and still be very productive. I had to laugh because as I was watching the video I did have a load of laundry going! :)
This was so insightful. I am noticing the network challenges already as well and am experiencing exactly what you are describing. Love how thorough your videos are 😀
There is really something to be said about being in the office and the connectivity with your coworkers that you get from being face to face. Enjoy the time you do have with them in the office :) Thanks for watching, cheers!
Excellent video pointing out the pros and cons of hybrid working. Personally experiencing both pros and cons of working from home...feeling some of the disconnect since you can't be in office with colleagues but it has also been nice to be on virtual calls and have colleagues (and my own) pets join in the meetings!
I was laid off right before covid and always dreamed of working remotely, I got my wish, during the pandemic every job I had was remote and I loved it, although I could see the downfall to strictly remote, my internet went down sometimes, system issues, and my position I have now that is fully remote, I will have to leave because of the lack of training, I decided to go with a job offering a hybrid situation and I'm hoping that will fix the training issue as well as internet problems. I feel hybrid is the best of both worlds, but I dread the commute and dealing with coworkers on daily basis
Hello and good morning. I had just comes across a brief concerning this new way of working; I feel it can be something that is good in our current time. Good job on this video message.
I've recently heard about HYBRID work and yes, it has many pros in my opinion. I loved how you mentioned doing laundry, yep, I used to do that too when I was still working for a boss. LOL
@@AdrianaGirdler is a very huge global company, I doubt they will ever change hahaha. Maybe in a couple decades with new blood on pretty much all levels. I honestly think they try but by only following metrics, which is great for numbers not so much for human connection haha.
Ironically hybrid working seems like the only way to solve horrible traffic congestion issue in my town (there's way too much private vehicles over here).
Some people have found that they have a better work life balance and some even find their productivity is better. Having said that everyone is different. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Thanks for watching. This is an interesting question because if you properly prepare a project and set up team expectations, emotional outbursts on projects will be so minimal, its not even an issue. That being said, it still happens. Check out my video on team dynamics as this will help you in knowing how to deal with the different stages of team development. ua-cam.com/video/Eq-4kZ5IVGY/v-deo.html Also, check out my playlist... 'Project Management' as I have tons of videos on how to properly prepare a project. Let me know if this helps....cheers.
Thanks Adriana. Sure will check on your videos to learn more. Still when a PM works with so many ppl in a project there will be ppl that lack in responsiveness and timeliness regardless how a project is prepared and setting expectations because they don’t report to PM and this often frustrates PM and so I want to know how best I can handle my emotions and not reacting.
@@JL-sw3sb I totally understand. That is why I get my team to sign the project charter at the kick-off meeting. 99% of people will sign it and I use it to call them out if they are not following the responsibilities and expectations as it is laid out in the charter. This is very effective in getting people to be accountable. For the 1% who don't want to sign it, these are the people who will be a challenge. It's nice to know this in the beginning and sometimes I will involve their direct manager to find out what is the issue around signing it. Totally agree with all these hybrid working pros and cons as someone who has worked both in-office and remotely!
Thanks so much for watching ♥
You've done such an amazing job describing the pros and cons of hybrid working! Thank you, Adriana :)
Thanks you so much Simona! Cheers!

Great video. Lots to consider when we all return to the office full time or on a hybrid schedule.
Thank you and thanks for watching, cheers!
My work has introduced this today. We're working in the office 3 days per week. The only downside for me is seeing your colleagues less.
There is really something to be said about being in the office and the connectivity with your coworkers that you get from being face to face. Enjoy the time you do have with them in the office :) Thanks for watching, cheers!
When she said "let's get to it" it made me literally never want to go into the office ever again. Hate seeing others and their attitudes

Thanks for this info
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Even working full time at office upper management has been disconnected from the workforce. Pretty sure is a conscious decision at this point.
I’m sorry to hear that. Hopefully they change and realize how important it is to connect with their employees. Thanks for watching, cheers!

Unfortunately this is sad but true. Yes, metrics are important but it’s the people that are critical to business was success.

I think both should be balanced win some way. To be able to work at home does make life easier in some cases.

Considering I'm close to retirement the cons are much less significant.

None of the Pros have ANYTHING to do with work, it’s work nonsense
