Great video on how to create a project plan. The explanation of the steps is very informative as well as the sequencing of the steps. I think you are right that a lot of people just jump right into the kickoff meeting being totally unprepared.

Great. Much of these steps at least at higher level should be covered in a well written business case ideally from the Project Sponsor. Elaboration can continue from there. Step 8 in my opinion is one of the most critical steps, as you nailed it shows accountability. I almost throw the schedule/tasks every meeting to make the deliverables and timing as clear as possible

Love this - I've been doing more project planning and project management in my role as of late. My current goal is to ensure I'm adequately completing mid point check ins with my stakeholders, so everyone's on board throughout the process. 😊

wow, this is so specific to people doing projects for someone else who also work with others
i feel like a more specific title would be beneficial, as i came here trying to figure out how to make a project plan for a series of paintings - nobody else involved (no coworkers, no boss, no commissions, nothing - just me)
i just think a more specific title would be helpful for people who need this specific advice and are looking for it, while making sure it doesn't waste anyone's time who is looking for information that would share the same title (how to write a project plan) but is functionally different (working completely alone, not with a bunch of other people or working for someone)
like, i'm sure this is great information for the people who need it! which is awesome
i'm just disappointed because this isn't what i thought it would be based on the title and description
(for reference the series of paintings will become educational posters on animal species, not random fun/decorative paintings - it's a project i need to plan out carefully to make sure everything is accurate, which is why i'm looking for help on project planning)
Hi @SkwithOv, thanks for taking the time to share. These posters you are creating are a project as they have a start and end date. Even though you are working on this alone and not with team you can still use the steps to create a project plan for yourself so you can stay on track.

so I am an old welder that is injured now and retraining for pmp. However I am taking the courses through PMI website and there is like always alot of fluff to make money and not alot of actual skills transfer in the course. Example is makins us memorize alot of terms and history yet not telling you how and when to use these things after. where can i gain the actual knolage i need before i get into the job. I am getting tired of waisting my money on courses that deliver 20% usefull material.
