They should have x-rayed it. What a loss to crack it open like that after so many millions of years. It could have been an exhibit with the nodule being shown bouncing along the beach. The layers being shown on a scan. The wonders of a round ancient fossil being marveled at by children and adults alike.

Here in south west MO there is an excess of old field stone filler rock from when miners were everywhere in old mineral mines. most of these rocks contain thousands of tiny fossils from the lower silt layers, and are extremely common. Its a fun activity to go hiking and to look for piles of these rocks and just spend the day cracking them open for fossils, and sometimes several inch wide clam shells and ammonites can be found.
So jealous of your freedom to explore and learn about natures fossils !!!! Here in California, signs are posted stating that you'll be prosecuted if found on possession of rocks at a federal park. Luckily, they let you breathe if you pay the fare!!!!...
@@tonyarellano4194 around here there a few parks and reserves that regulate stones because of hand mining reasons, but not alot. Usually you can walk on the side of the road in any part of the city outskirts and find hundreds of rocks to crack and scout fossils without trespassing or regulation since its all waste rock. there are even entire park sized "Chat piles" as we call them of nothing but this waste rock where people often drive dirt bikes and we get fossils there too, and even mining equipment relics amongst the waste stone like shoe nails, lantern pieces and tin buttons.

Yeah, I found many. When I was twelve, my best buddy and me joined a geological group which regularly went on explorations. They told us, what findings were possible at each location, where we were driven by bus on a some Sundays, which geological time we were at and so on. We visited mines and quarries and I gathered tons of fossils and minerals. Our biology teacher was with us, he was leader of this group and he showed us how to do some most interesting findings. The most rare finding was a Spirulirostra hoernesi, a rare cephalopoda sepioidea remain, on the short transition to the sepia of nowadays. Although its just about 11mm long, I am very proud of that. Now I am 54 and all my minerals and fossils are in some boxes in my cellar 😢 Long time no see

I like that you show us different kind of fossils and what we can find around us! Yes I have found fossils many places. In northeastern Lake Michigan I have found many Petoskey stones. And around several flood prevention dams in Ohio, I can find fossils any day of the week I want to. I’ve also found some in Kentucky.

I didn’t find it but my mother got me a megalodon tooth for my birthday 1-2 years ago and it is I believe the oldest thing I own. The tooth was the size of my palm and my mom’s friend’s husband said the megalodon could’ve been around 33 feet long.

Used to fish with my Dad at the falls of the Ohio at Louisville Kentucky and remember seeing all of those prehistoric fossils in the river bank. Sometime you’d see them and sometimes they’d be covered up.
I live in NY along Lake Erie. There is a place called 18 mile creek. The fossils along the water edge include trilobites and can be snorkeled in summer.
Just visit Pokhara, Nepal . And visit david's falls. There you will find these stones for sale. And one will cost about 15 usd highest 2 usd lowest.🙄 😪

When I see roadkill on the side of a road that I pass on my daily commute, I don't see it fossilize. The vulchers and rodents come and pick it apart, and the ants probably carry away the rest. Pretty soon, it's gone! Nowhere to be found. A world wide flood, so far, is the only thing that makes sense. What is/are the alternative answer(s), and what evidence supports it/them?

Have I ever found a fossil before 🙄😂. Funnily enough just last week we were visiting my wife’s family in Missouri and on her uncles property there’s these giant rocks (or boulders) COVERED in fossils. All sea life. Shark teeth, shells, all kinds of stuff and that’s just what’s on the surface. I’d post pictures here if I could.
I live in Missouri and I guess we have more fossils than some other places? It seems pretty easy to find them. Apparently we were at the bottom of an ocean millions of years ago.

They are $50-100 if they are intact. Maybe $20 if not. The really large ones sell for over $1000. Also, the minerals the fossil is made of can matter, too.

Buried with these dinosaurs were sea creatures, land animals that look exactly the same as the ones today, and lots of other creatures of every type. The museums have excluded or omitted those other modern-day land animals to support the theory of evolution.
I suggest you buy or rent the movie "The Ark and the Darkness" by Sevenfold Films. It goes over all the scientific evidence that supports the flood. Give it a watch and let me know what you think! :)

@guycd1 Actually, the world wide flood is what made fossils possible. Rapid burial is what is necessary to make fossils.
What is the alternative answer to how fossils got embedded in the rocks? When I see roadkill on the side of a road that I pass on my daily commute, I don't see it fossilize. The vulchers and rodents come and pick it apart, and the ants probably carry away the rest. Pretty soon, it's gone! Nowhere to be found.
A world wide flood, so far, is the only thing that makes sense. What is/are the alternative answer(s), and what evidence supports it/them?

Have I ever found a fossil before 🙄😂. Funnily enough just last week we were visiting my wife’s family in Missouri and on her uncles property there’s these giant rocks (or boulders) COVERED in fossils. All sea life. Shark teeth, shells, all kinds of stuff and that’s just what’s on the surface. I’d post pictures here if I could.

I live in Missouri and I guess we have more fossils than some other places? It seems pretty easy to find them. Apparently we were at the bottom of an ocean millions of years ago.

They are $50-100 if they are intact. Maybe $20 if not.
The really large ones sell for over $1000. Also, the minerals the fossil is made of can matter, too.
