  • Smothered Ribs
    My mom use to always make smothered ribs. She smothered the ribs in a nice homemade brown gravy with onions, bell peppers and cooked the ribs until they fell of the bones. she usually served it with collard greens & cornbread. It was so dang gone good. Hands down one of my favorite meals.
    Ingredients
    * 3 lbs pork or beef ribs membrane and excess fat removed
    * 2 tsp kosher salt
    * 2tsp of Greek season
    * 2 tsp of paprika
    * 2 tsp of garlic powder
    * 2tsp of onion powder
    * 2 tsp black pepper
    * 2 tsp thyme leaves
    * Gravy
    * 2. cups vegetable oil
    * 1/4 cup all purpose flour
    * 36 ounces of beef or chicken broth or water
    * 1 large onion sliced
    * 1/2 of a bell pepper sliced
    * 3 cloves garlic minced
    Instructions
    * Cut the ribs however you desire.
    * Mix all of your seasoning together for consistency
    * Season the ribs all over
    * Then Lightly coat the ribs in the seasoned flour
    * Heat up 2 cups of vegetable oil on a medium to low heat
    * Place the ribs in a hot oil and fry for about 4 minutes per side and remove from oil.
    * Pour out some of the oil leaving about a 1/4 cup of oil in a saucepan and place over medium heat.
    * Once the oil gets hot, slowly start sprinkling in the flour while whisking.
    * Once the flour/ oil mixture starts to brown, add in the broth( or water).
    * Whisk, then bring to a boil.
    * Reduce the heat to low, then add in the onions & garlic.
    * Decide whether or not, you'd like to add more seasonings. If you do, do so now.
    * Set on low/med and let simmer for 1 hour or until tender.
    * Serve & enjoy!

    Great recipe bro!! This video should have more view than this because this is textbook southern cooking. A lot of people don’t fry the ribs first.

    Not the 40lb gravy! 🤣😂👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 I love it, Lord say the same Sunday Supper (Oct 2, 20 Duce-Duce) will be Smothered BayBeeeh Back Ribs fried in Avocado oil, (And Yasss I fry everything in Cado oil Suga, I don't use veggie oil for nothing but a slow burn on my pit ok) then smother down with trio onions and peppers, Sweet Potato Mash top with a pool of 2lb gravy🤣😂👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿(gotta go lite on that grabea ok). and mixed Garlic &Herbs veggies.
