Awesome video!! I took an entire page of notes from one simple concept. It is amazing the things you can learn by watching these you tube videos. @Ross you do a great job of introducing simple concepts in these videos while also going into depth about 1 certain subject. I cant believe more people are not watching these free videos. #knowledgeispower
You are a phenomenal teacher on this topic. A refreshing find over the hordes or slick fast talking kids who hardly look old enough (nor speak with maturity) to buy cigarettes, let a lone clearly explain day trading. Thank you. Your approach upped my game 1000%
Please make tonnes of these lesson type videos they are very very helpful i am taking notes on all of them, im 15 and very interested in day trading and investing :) Thank you Ross !
This is a super important factor for me. I’ve learned my lesson trading stocks with larger float (around 100million)- these stocks defo do not fit my trading style. Made a mental note to Stay away! Even if they’re gapping- they are slow, painful death.

was just in your webinar. great info and super excited to someday afford the courses. I was frustrated at first that you say you are helping regular people with the course when having 4 k disposable income isnt actually all that regular for most the population... but these videos are really informative and detailed and..free. I apoligize for my frustration, like I said maybe i will see you at the top. but honestly making 100k after a 1 hour webinar... almost better than trading so i cant blame you, worth the money for those who can pull it of, worht the inspiration to those of us who are working towards affording a mentor like you.

What will happen if it's low float and low volume and nobody wants to buy what you're selling? I have seen small caps with low float and low volume and it's not even moving. Sometimes the news will come in 2 weeks or more before it gets movings. How do you deal with it as a day trader?
Thank you for an excellent presentation! When you refer to low float, are you referring to 'outstanding shares'? I’ve noticed that sometimes float is specified as a percentage instead of a fixed number. Would it be possible to filter potential movers using percentage?

@@DaytradeWarrior if you want to do a good video i would love to hear about how much money min and max you put in while day trading and for long term and what indicators you use to determine. I have a good amount of money but have been afraid to put it out there. Thanks.
Float and implied volatility don't have a relationship. One is a characteristic of a stock, while the other is a characteristic of an option contract. Float helps us understand available supply, while implied volatility helps us understand the markets expectations for a stock in the future.
The float is the number of shares available for trading. It is calculated by subtracting closely-held shares (shares owned by insiders, major shareholders, and employees) from a firm’s total outstanding shares. Float and total outstanding shares are different in that only the float is available for trading on the open market.
@@DaytradeWarrior Hi, is there a way to know the outstanding shares (not held by anyone) but from the Float only? And can this information be valuable in day trading?
Ross thanks for making these content, i went into a trading simulator but when im looking for stocks i can only see the volume, how can i calculate float, or where can i find it?
I got i it, i think, they got something called Market capitalization wich is the number of outstanding shares multiplied by the current price of a share, so if divide that number the MarketCap/Current price i would get the number of outstanding shares. is it the same as float?

So what is considered a too high of a float and a to low of a float what range do you want to be trading in
How can the stocks actually gaps up before the market open? or is that a pre-market indicative price?
The gaps happen during premarket
but how does the scanner can find the pre market gappers? scanners only knows when the market is actually open. can u please give me a quick hint on this one please?
Hi, Ross.. Could you comment on why various sources report different float numbers? MarketWatch will have one total and Yahoo another.
Hey Davy, It's possible that different sources don't have the latest figures to take into account share buy backs, splits, or secondary offerings.
what does the gap indicate? does it mean its thinner in lvl 2 where it shows what price they are being sold?
So for those small stocks for daytrading what are you parameters for the float?
I look for a float of under 10 million shares.
@@DaytradeWarrior if you want to do a good video i would love to hear about how much money min and max you put in while day trading and for long term and what indicators you use to determine. I have a good amount of money but have been afraid to put it out there. Thanks.
How low should the Float be? Seems like it would be harder to sell when you'd want to take a profit....
Ross likes to see floats under 1 million shares
Question: how does float and Implied Volatility (IV) relate? Do they not?..
And how do you find out the outstanding number of shares?
Float and implied volatility don't have a relationship. One is a characteristic of a stock, while the other is a characteristic of an option contract. Float helps us understand available supply, while implied volatility helps us understand the markets expectations for a stock in the future.

would it not be a 1:7 stock split in the apple example where the price is divided by 7 not multiplied?
