@@hairyspeakerz3161 it had electric start. It would still take some time to warm up, then the engine would flood so you’d have to wait for it to settle then it would finally start. I finally got to where I would start it with muffs at the house and then head to the ramp.
Converted a 16’ Bayliner Reflex from a jet to run an outboard. I put this exact outboard on. It was laying in my grandpas backyard for about 15 years. Completely redid it from the inside out and it is BULLETPROOF. Don’t make em like they used to.
@@willyt2962 You need to go down a pitch or two. And if your diameter is undersized, get the right diameter, too. I suggest 2 pitch down, 4 bladed, and get a whale tail. At that point it'll carry a shitload of gear/people, accelerate even better, plane even better, track amazingly in full-throttle turns, and might still hit 40mph afterward compared to your current 36.
Ahhhh..... The good ole days when motors were motors...and men knew how to work on them!!!
From mechanical to technical! For the better, and the worse
There are plenty of days I miss my old 90A. I don't miss spending 30 minutes trying to turn it over after not running it for a month though.
Use electric start

Lovely motor
Bro nice motor and boat! Is that a 17 foot Boston whaler? They are the best boats
Mercury will get you there quicker but a Yamaha will get you home.
add another one and then it sounds so nice
Should be turning 5500 or maybe 6000 rpms
it only hits 4800 rpm
or else it would go way too fast
@@willyt2962 that’s not good will that means the engine is not running as well as it should and has a problem
Wrong pitch prop
