- A ferry flight in the Quest Kodiak 100, and a comparison of the Kodiak and Cessna C208 Caravan parked side by side on the apron!
Both are fitted with the PT6 series of engine, specifically the PT6A-34 in the Kodiak and the PT6A-114A in the Caravan.
The Kodiak is renowned for it’ STOL (short takeoff and landing) performance, and it’s ability as a bush plane.
The stall is incredibly docile, with the wing having an inboard and outboard section. - Авто та транспорт
Great video! Glad you enjoy the aircraft
Thanks! They're an amazing aircraft aren't they!
Interestingly in EASA-countries the Kodiak needs a third battery which is installed in the cabin between the pilots seats
That’s interesting! Is that to support the avionics in the event of all other electrical sources failing?
@@aeroplanetoby Exactly! on the one i got to fly a couple times you could switch between standby and charge.
Wasn't this particular aircraft involved in a major accident? Did they rebuild it? Like the wing was all damaged?
Yep, it had both fuel vents blocked by wasps nests and one wing was fairly damaged by it. So that wing is now even newer than the rest of the aeroplane!
Are you aware of your doppelgänger Luke’s Landing UA-cam channel, also a pilot funnily enough!
I am not! However, I will look him up! Thanks!
