- In this video, I test fly a 1978 Cessna 182Q fitted with a Garmin G3X Touch glass cockpit!
The Q model is my favourite of the C182 series, fitted with the Continental O-470 engine.
This aircraft has been fitted with the Garmin G3X touch, along with a GTN750 touchscreen navigator, two G5 PFD’s, and an ADSB in and out transponder (showing traffic on the screen).
In addition, all of the above is coupled to the newly fitted GFC500 autopilot, with altitude hold and airspeed hold functions, amongst many others!
Nice to see it all in action 👌
It was a bloody well done install!
@@aeroplanetoby cheers mate, we're pretty happy with it !
Beautiful upgrade. I am actually updating my original '182 Q panel in the coming months, waiting to get my order in right now! This is exactly what I have planned but I just saw another option that has me thinking. Instead of the 750, drop it to a 650 and put the money in another G3X panel on the right since the only thing you need the navigator for is to load approaches. What are your thoughts on that scenario having flown this one?
It’s a lovely machine! Great stuff, the Q model is the pick of the bunch in my opinion!
The option of the two G3X’s would certainly make it a very impressive panel, and a more “symmetrical” layout with one on each side?
Looks A okay to me
Haha yep.
