How funny. I'm making "coffee" dyed paper ( acrylic paints and water made to look like coffee) while I watch this. I was already well into it when your video popped up so....pure coincidence? I like to think You Tube can't REALLY see what we are doing in person hahahga. Anyways.... you just showed what using a fork can look like when using them to make designs and it just so happens that is exactly what I'm using at the moment. I'm not making a nice pattern like here, but rather random marks all over. And I am dipping the fork in and dragging it across the paper. Some of them are actually a grid pattern and some are just short dashes and some are just 4 dots in a row. Forks really are a awesome tool for mark making. I love all of your papers, they are so interesting.
Thank you for the coffee dyed papers. I just cannot stand very long to make tea dyed or coffee dyed papers. This is such a wonderful thing to have to use. It saves me so much time in the kitchen. And I think your minimalist thoughts are spot on. I need to get rid of some stuff and work with less. I have so much now my 3 drawers are full, my bookcase is full and the shelf under my credenza is jammed too. Ugh. Way too much. Oh oh...the wood grain one you made is very inspiring to me. I'm going to try it. Love your channel. I'm 73 and enjoying junk journals. I quit in 2021. I started the year before in the middle,of the pandemic. Then got into watercolor which I suck at very much. So my daughter had to move in with us and we got into the journals again
Marci you are the most amazing tutor. So honest and your love for what you teach, you are so frank, open and sincere. Love you for the above. and yes i will make some things only because of your love and dedication to teach and explain in such details and even putting out the link and never shying to say you learnt from pinterest or from Luise. Be blessed always.
Thanks for such a sweet comment, I do love what I do and even more sharing it with people. Hope you like my other videos and that they inspire you to play! 😋
Oh wow, Marci these are even more amazing than the ones I watched yesterday! I love the effects you get with normal household stuff. The one you did with your son was just gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your talent.

Hello from New Zealand. Such wonderful papers!! I love them. I only found you tonight and I’m so pleased I did. I can’t wait attempt to do some. Thank you
EmmKaa!!!!! receiving all the love from the desert! omg mind blowing! hehehhe i was thinking i wanted to paint with sand from the desert and then you commented here, how amazing are the cool energy and vibes from the universe! (Im not that weird i promise, hehehhe but energies are something i believe in, and they are like radio frequencies we tune in to other cool vibes, and this time all the way from cali! ) try and use a thin colander and get the fine dry sandy powder and mix it with some sort of liquid glue or acrylic gesso, i bet you will get the coolest textures and colors with those! omg just thinking about it make me wanna go chill there and craft in the desert! 😝have fun!
This is my very first time here, I popped in to have a look after hearing you mentioned by Dawn from the minimal mom. I am so very glad i did!! Beautiful, clever, inexpensive ideas. Love it! I subscribed 4 minutes in! Can't wait to check out all your other videos! I'll set aside some time every day, make a coffee and watch your videos a few at a time until I've seen them all! Thank you so much!
Oh thank you! that is so very sweet of you to say, I post every week in the hopes people learn that crafting is fun and easy, and it can be very inexpensive, so i am very into minimalism and decor on the cheap but cool side, and i dont feel bad replacing it or changing it, and my kids also learn that fun can be painting with coffee or tea and you will not believe how creative they are, hope my channel inspires you to create and feel free to share it with others who might need it to relax or get distracted from the stress of the everyday life, or at home because of the fear of getting infected with this whole covid stuff, I sent my painting with coffee video to a nurse friend of mine and people at the hospital are doing this and it truly helps patients not think much about where they are and chill a bit. anyhow, i got to exciting there sharing, sorry, hehehe enjoy crafting and hope to see you here again! 😋

Yana Vallie hi there lovely, I made a cute little journal and a folder to sent to my sister filled with goodies for her birthday, as soon as she gets it, I will post pica on instagram so you guys can see them! 🥳 so exciting!! Hehehe
Very nice collection. I agree with your son, color is very nice. Which I love to do too. You gave me some ideas to do with watercolor. peace to you and your creative love ones.
Thank you again for your great fun ideas. This morning I used a zester with 5 small sharp holes on it. If we hold it like a pen and on the reverse side and point straight to the paper, it makes 5 tiny dots on top of each other. It looks like raindrops of coffee if you make plenty of dots... do you read our comments?
New stubbier... absolutely love this idea. Ant wait to play & Thank you for sharing!!! Will be handy when I’m not in mood for coffee smell for days LOL
Marci, you mentioned in one of your videos, coffee painting, that when you want the darker shades, it's sticky and will affect your journaling pages. I spray mine with a clear sealer.. Your local hardware store has many to choose from, I'm sure. Enjoy watching. Thank you!!
Marci, I've just discovered your videos and I've been really enjoying watching all your awesome inspiring creative ideas. (Your bright fun personality is what really sells it for me, though. 😉) Thanks for making these videos for all your fans and subscribers and browsing newcomers alike. Stay creative!
Thanks Antonio, I wonder what you are up to? I enjoyed your bubble paper and dirty fingers hehhehe ooohhh and that facemask was fun too!!! heheh are you going to try and make these papers?? it will be fun to see what you come up with! something fun and amazing for sure! 😜
So Marci, I just want to tell you how much I love the coffee videos you've done. They just fascinate me. I wonder how it would work with brown paper bag paper. Thnxs
O have tried it and it doesnt work too good, but i found out that if you use gesso to prep the paper bag paper, it works better. Maybe i can make a video on it? What kind of technique were you thinking of trying on the bag paper??
The technique I was thinking of using was the same you're already using just plain old coffee. Maybe there's some coffee's that are much darker than others & that it seemed would probably work it seems. You're little journal was adorable. I think already mentioned that anyway...it was. Nice work. Later...
I have done it in regular paper too, and it warps a bit, but if you like the warping and the sound it makes great! I like the warping and sound it makes when i use them in journals, but since i was scanning it i used the mix media paper.

I was thinking of using these for a journal. Possibly just setting it on a very thin layer of coffee while doing the patterns?? Thanks again!
@@lesliesheldon6198 ooohh and use watercolor or mixed media paper, if you dont have those then the thicker the paper the better, you can see all the materials i use and why i use those in my all you need to know about coffee painting series, i go on detail there! 😊
Yes it does, you have to be careful when using mixed media or watercolor paper like this because it might brake the paper at times and its hard to flatten it back up. 😊
I have a question for you. I have a scrapbook paper that I LOVE. It is a great background, goes with other colors I love. Apricot-ish mottled look with tiny white dots in random pattern. I want to scan it and use it but feel like that is stealing :( I'm thinking if I paint the background with watered down inks (oxide) to color I want and sprinkle salt, I might get similar effect? With the salt, do you allow paper to dry and wipe it off or does it completely dissolve? Thank you. I'm using 140 lb watercolor paper for journal cover. Will want to apply matte medium on top.
Sound like a good idea, i let my salt dry on the paper and then when its all dry remove the rest, just make sure its really dry before wiping it off. Dont over wet the paper to try and prevent warping as much as possible, but let be real, it happens. If it works good, let me know and I might do some random papers and make them free printables. 😜
I really tried this paper for my project believe me everyone got so much surprise and my teacher smell every single page while checking my work 😂😂 she's is totally coffee person.
