I have been looking for ways to animate character and scenes in after effects after creating them in Illustrator, couldnt find many to understand character animation and scenery stuff. Atleast this things now sort of clear. THanks for your tutorial!

you know if you hold alt and click, it duplicates as you move it so you don't have to copy+paste every time. bit quicker that way. otherwise cheers for the tute!
Great tutorial thanks man. You can also make the sun using a distortion transformation effect and making a pattern around the circle of the sun. It’s much quicker and really adaptable.
you seemed to have different files in your last frame than what you did in the tutorial.. please explain because I came back with three layers not all the layers I made just like you did...
I have a question. When I remove anchor point from the left side of the circle at 10:12 , then it cut whole left side of the circle and I have only one (right) side then!? Same happens with clouds. Anyone help!?
at 29 :00 I made the cloud but as I try and grab the cloud and make it one piece it grabs everything with it... why...I can not seem to get the same box that you did.. really frustrating
Please respond I tried another project like this and still only came back with fore, back and mid ground not layers.. very frustrating.. really want to learn this
Yes as I stated it before Im using illustrator.. ended up making in After effects alittle quicker but not as nice as the graphics I made in illustrator
You've got 3 main layers right? Foreground, background and midground. To create a new layer click the 'new layer' icon at the bottom of the layers panel (it looks like a piece of paper with the corner folded) so now you have 4 layers. Call this new layer 'trees' and drag it into the midground layer. To see what objects and layers are inside the midground layer, click the little arrow on the left of the midground layer. Now select the 'trees' layer and make your trees. Repeat this process to make layers for your clouds, etc... Did this explain much?

Select P on the keyboard, and then just click on the point you want to delete.

I eneded up using the scissors tool. Couldn't figure out the pen tool trick shown in this video!
I did it step by step and tried to import and still came in as three layers.. I think you skipped thru some things..

How are you trying to grab the cloud? You simply click on it once to select it.
