Hey man, I'm a true beginner of Adobe here and this is a GREAT outstanding tutorial! You just fly through showing tons of functions and easily and clearly explaining them and their hotkeys. Good work. I don't even know when to use photoshop, illustrator or any of the others. I don't understand all of the differences between the apps in the CC cloud. If I can find a tutorial explaining that, it would be great! I know it's very basic info lol but it should be up!
Hi djoeflow Illustrator is vector (math) based which means when you enlarge or shrink down a design it all stays in proportion. You can also import photos which are jpeg too but I dont want to go off on a tangent about photos in AI. Photoshop is specific to photos and uses jpeg - think little dots that distort as you enlarge a photo. Thats a very basic explanation. Illustrator is the most versatile of all the Adobe software so if you're going to try something I would suggest AI. It can be frustrating but if you just practice one thing at a time you will get it. InDesign etc .. have more specific and what I think are more limited uses.
Dude, this is really helpful!! I just got a freelance job where I'll be using Illustrator and wasn't sure where to start learning. So thank you so much for the handy tutorial!
Perfect video for someone who knows all this stuff already but hasn't touched Illustrator in a year or two and just needs to remember. Thanks for making this so easy!
For real, I like learning as process where I have control in the information process and do the work to understand it. Than, to sit, listen carefully, and wait patiently for the answer or long winded explanation where the professor suddenly moves to the next topic as you are lost in sudden new words and going "eh what"...
thanks mang. I've been a motion designer for nearly 15 years and I have no idea how to use Illustrator. Trying to change that and your video is the first step in that direction.
This is a great video to watch if you havent used AI in a year and need a quick reminder. I think you did a great job. I wish UA-camrs did more videos like this... no fluff just straight to business!
This was great! Don't understand people that complain that it took longer than 5 minutes. Even an hour is great for an overall practical into to the app.

Nice! My son decided he wanted to learn illustrator so I’m going to send him your video. I use illustrator every day at work but there’s so much to the program, I couldn’t figure out what I should show him first.
