The Intruders were ABSOLUTELY SOULFUL, “JUST AMAZING.” Little Sonny Brown’s voice was so SOOTHING!!! My favorite songs are Cowboys TO Girls, We’ll Be United, Together, (Love Is Like) A Baseball Game, I Wanna Know Your Name, + Many More.!!!
I personally knew Bro. Big Sonny Edwards and Phil Terry is still a good friend of mine. And when my daughters were young, I’d take us over to he and his wife’s house for barbecues in the summer. Great memories !!!
I didn't realize how important The Intruders have been to the Philadelphia Sound provided by Gamble and Huff. I'd have to say that my favorite song by The Intruders is "I'll Always Love My Mama". Even to this day, this song is played on Mother Day!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, for finally having the Intruders. They definitely need their flowers as they paved the way for the Philly sound. Most definitely If it wasn't for them, it wouldn't be anyone else. Obviously there wouldn't be Gamble and Huff if it wasn't for The Intruders. My father said that when he was younger he would see them performing on street corners all around North Philadelphia He also knew them as well. My Dad said that Little Sonny really had a breakdown when his mother passed and that song I'll Always love My Mama, man that hits everyone right there. I'd say that's probably one of my favorites with Together and We'll Be United, Love Is A Basbeball Game and When We Get Married, (The Dreamlovers remake) . I say that they are like the Miracles when starting out as they were the first influential group to perform with Gamble and Huff. I look at the O'Jays like the Temptations and The Three Degrees as the Supremes. At least they are in the Philly Walk of Fame. But agreed we need an R&B Hall of Fame for us for sure. Also maybe do a video of the song writing team of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff
“ Friends No More “ and “ Save the Children “ were my favorites. In fact , my friend Phil said he liked closing the show to the song “Friends No More”.
Cowboy's to girls, love is like a baseball game, when we get married, this is my love song, bet he don't love you (like, I love you)and I'll always love my mama and (love doctor) doctor doctor.❤
Wow!! I had no idea about what happened to Little Sonny! One of the greatest groups to ever do it! I have too many favorites to name just one. Bobby Starr was from Baltimore so he was a big deal here in BMore. I agree w/ you abt a soul hall of fame. So many greats
Thanks for another great music story. Did not know they were with Chicago's Chess Records before moving on to Philly and being and apart of that great Philly sound. Hate hearing about the tragic events with one of the Intruders. My favorite Instruders songs were Love Is Just Basebell Game, Cowboys To Girls, I Wanna Know Your Name and I'll Always Love My Mama. Yes, I agree with having a Black or Soul Music Hall of Fame because of the issues you mentioned, even though I hate music labels. Music is universal. The Intruders rightly deserve their place in the RRHOF and RNB Hall of Fame also.
Great video coverage in great history lesson and you are 100% correct if it wasn't for the Delfonics all of those other groups would not came into their own

They were totally underrated and established all the groups under the Philadelphia International Label to achieve stardom. I want to know your name, together, cowboys to girls and many others. It's time for our people to establish our own Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame and our own star 🌟 on Boulevard of Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey & Boston, for sure.
