Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at another recommendation made by all of you guys with ETHIOPIE and Singers Without Borders. A collaborative effort many popular french artists unite on this project giving back to Ethiopia. Amazing moments from this song, and simplistic structure making it all the better. Hi, the woman of the beginning is called Fabienne Thibeault. She sang among other things "Le Monde est Stone" in Starmania.
Yes, it’s Fabienne Thibeault, a French Canadian singer. She was popular in the 80s mostly. If one day, you decide to listen to the musical, Starmania, you definitely should listen to “Le Monde Est Stone” by Fabienne Thibeault. She was the one who made the song famous and probably the best of all singers that did a cover of this song.

@@alexandreaudebert4594 Renaud est à mon avis très difficile car le principal intérêt, ce sont les textes et il utilise énormément d'argot (qui ne passera pas bien au traducteur) et de références à des événements historiques et à des personnalités peu connues en dehors de la France. Sinon, je serais tenté de lui conseiller Manhattan Kaboul, même si c'est loin d'être sa meilleure, ça pourrait toucher quelqu'un des USA.

You should do "Les restos du coeur". It's been started by Coluche, for the people who can't afford food in France, especially during winter. It was started in the 80's and it's still going on. Every year, there are tours and concerts for Les Restos du coeur.
The song is an hymn, composed by Goldman. Everybody knows the song of Les Restos.
Ethiopia, 40 years after this song, is in the middle of a civil war. Ethiopians are doomed, poor people.

Maybe you should try some Gotainer... He was a bit "crazy" but wrote a LOT of advertising music "hits" in the 80s. And wrote some crazy funny songs to please kids and grand parents... "Mambo du decalco", "Primitif", "Femmes a lunettes", "Le Youki"...

Oh my god! I didn't know there was a french song made in France for Ethiopia and I'm québécois! I know almost all these singers! Thanks for making me discover that one. In Canada we had two songs for Ethiopia. We had Tears Are Not Enough by Nothern Light and we also had a french song called Les Yeux De La Faim by Fondation Québec-Afrique. In my opinion they are as good as We Are The World, but they had less exposure. Dereck you should listen to them and maybe react to them!

I'm not a specialist of Axel Bauer but the man is amazing, you don't hear much about him but once in a decade, he comes with a huge hit : "Cargo de nuit" in the 80s (you reacted to it), "Eteins la lumière" in the 90s (very rock, catchy, nasty) and "A ma place" (a duet with Zazie that he wrote, one of my favorite french duet, amazing)...

Song written by "Renaud"... A "leftie" singer who wrote great stuff up until the 90's... It's more lyrics oriented but you might like "Mistral Gagnants" (but get the translation for his work, it worth it). Also "L'hexagone" (this is the "shape" we use to qualify France, he was criticizing some of the "blunt" sides of France. Again he's a leftie... :) ).
I would suggest "Miss Maggie" too. About silliness of men. Very provocative as Renaud did in the 80ies 😁 Dereck, you have to get the lyrics, it is hard !
