Instant Pot Yogurt- Keto (0 Carbs!) + Lower Fat Variations!

  • Today we are making the easiest, healthiest yogurt from scratch in the instant pot. Save money on expensive yogurts from the grocery store that have fillers and gums that make yogurt less nutritious. In this video I make keto yogurt with practically no carbs, but you can also use this same recipe to make a lower fat, high protein yogurt as well! And yes I referred to them as gallons but each fairlife is a half gallon!
    Macros for Full Fat version made with 2 half gallons of Whole Fairlife (187g):
    Carbs: 1g
    Fat: 12g
    Protein: 18
    (This is assuming you get 6 cups of whey out)
    Macros for Lower Fat version made with 1/2 gallon Fat-Free and 1/2 Gallon 2% Fairlife (187g):
    Carbs:0.25g
    Fat:3.2g
    Protein: 22.8g
    (This is assuming you get 8 cups of whey out)

    I discovered I have type 2 diabetes this week. I learned that Yogurt was high in carbs and I really didn't want to give it up so thank you for this video!

    thank you. I just finished making homemade greek yogurt and am on the 2nd day of carnivore diet. I was afraid that I could not eat it on carnivore. thanks again

      Please avoid soy if you can… that’s way worse than any estrogen in dairy

    This looks delicious and easy. I like flavorings in mine if not using it for cooking. How do you add flavorings to yogurt?

      You can use preserves or jams after cooking easily. Or just sugar/ honey.

    could you tell me what the expiration date is on the bunch of yogurt you made? can i freeze it? how long will it stay fresh in the icebox? it would be nice if you could do a video with adding sugar free flavors. i saw someone who used sugar free strawberry jello in hers. thank you for the video. looks practical & easy and also for the nutritional background...

      I personally don’t use sugar free jello bc it has ingredients I don’t love. I much rather just add stevia to my yogurt and add fresh berries.

    Question. You say to use two gallons of Fairlife. Do you really mean FOUR containers? One container is 1/2 gallon. So two gallons would be four containers. And actually, Fairlife is 52oz per container and half gallon is 64oz. I don't think my instant pot would hold a full two gallons with any room to spare.

    Hey there! Great video! I don't have an Instant pot, but I have a crock pot ... do you have an idea for how to make this utilizing a crock pot instead?

      Crock pots don’t function the same way Bc they don’t have pressure so I have no idea, and they don’t do custom time regulation etc… time to ask for an instant pot for a gift! Hehe

    Organic Valley used to make an ultra filtered milk which was an organic alternative to Fairlife. That worked great for this type of yogurt too but sadly it is no longer available. Maple Hill has just come out with a zero carb organic milk but so far it is only available at Wholefoods. I wonder how that would work in this recipe.

    Some people boil the milk first. You did not.....does it matter???? Also I used chobani milk with 20 grams of protein. Do I still have to strain the whey? It was already so thick. Will I still have good protein in my yogurt????? Omg I'm so new to this!

      There’s no need to boil the milk with the instant pot. You can strain it to your desired consistency but it will be higher carb if you keep the whey

      If you look up the nutrition facts for a cup of whey when separated from milk, I subtracted that from the macros since it is removed.
