I'm getting ready to do this to a 74... Cant wait!!
Good luck.
@@mossman381 😅 that's not really comforting but thanks!
It's not that hard. Just takes time doing all the little things. We had to wait 3 weeks or so for the driveshaft. The amount of bad "new" parts is getting ridiculous, so you do need a bit of luck when doing a project like this.
Awesome video. I want to go through Bowler for my kit but I think Ill use the Hurst crossmember.
We got all our stuff from Modern Drive Line. They put the kit together. I recommend getting a kit from someone because it's hard to figure everything out yourself.
Wow, I enjoyed your video. Showed tons of info without rushing. I just received a TKX perfect fit kit for my 69 corvette from Silver Sport. How did wiring up the reverse light and neutral safety work out? Did you have to cut off the factory wire harness connectors to splice them in? Thx
The reverse light had to be cut and run down to the trans switch because we had an automatic. The neutral safety has not been hooked up yet.
I had no idea that Joe Pantoliano was such a gearhead.
Hi Mate great video, Im in the process of converting over to a Ford T5 into my 69 camaro. Do you have details of the cross meber you have used that would be very helpful
I think that was a Bowler Transmission cross member. We got the kit from Modern Driveline.
I would have liked seeing the clutch install too.
Check out my other videos when I installed the 396. I think I showed more of the clutch install.
FYI if this is a big block car the motor is pushed to the passenger side about a half an inch to clear the master cylinder. I just found this out with my 69 Camaro, I couldn’t figure out why everything was pushed off to one side.
As far as we know this car was an SS born with a 350. I sanded the rear panel down looking for the black paint and didn't find any. The car was 30 years old when we got it so we don't know 100% but we are pretty sure. The first generation might be a little different than the second gen.
All that alignment and no "needle" type pilot bearing?
This car will never see 100k plus miles. A standard bushing will work just fine.
Wish I would have done this to my nova maybe i will when I blow up the 700r4
Dad says it will be awesome. We are almost done with the install. The clutch pedal and clutch master cylinder are next. Shouldn't be very hard.
Put them in the freezer
