I love the reverb in the CBA Mood, which was created by OBNE. The clock slider reminds me of the Mood. I wonder to what extent this is the reverb in the Mood spun out into its own pedal.
Whilst they all have unique artwork on the outside, all these boutique manufacturers run off pretty much the same digital chip (FV-1) and makeup on the inside. The physical controls, regardless of configuration or appearance, merely change parameters within the digital patches. To the point, you could simply cut and paste the digital code from the memory of one pedal across to any other like this. This being said, having built pedals using these chips myself - OBNE are the one and only who manage to create absolute magic from their digital coding. There are heaps of EEPROMs with effects patches available that cover most other pedals, including ambient and weird effects, but nothing comes close to matching whatever OBNE does with their signal. They are the only maker using these DSPs that I will still happily buy every time. I love what they have done with the BL series and this reverb in particular is perfect. Can't replicate this with either a plugin, other pedals, or DIY coding... pretty special.
Have you tried the BL-44? I'd love to see you demo that one.

Hello, I just received this amazing pedal. The only thing that bothers me is that when I set the clock slider to the top, there is a kind of hissing sound. Is this normal for this pedal?
If you mean fully to the left side then yes it's "normal", if you move the slider below the half point the clock of the pedal is slowed down and the signal starts to degrade. The sample rate will reduce and this introduces noise and artifacts.

Did you actually try one? Hearing the demo's I can tell it's not for everyone but the combination of reverse (lo-fi) delay and quantised pitch shifting is quite unique.
@@ArgonautsMusicalTravellings I had one, yes. The chip was super noisy, I even had a very high pitch squeek at lower clock rates which made it impossible to use live without giving people ear cancer and having the venue swarmed with stray dogs.
That sucks 😢 I don't mind a bit of noise as long as it's musical. Like how the DOD Rubberneck adds some white noise on longer delays. But it should be pleasant to the ear!
@@tokiboi6777 I'm interested in that OBNE BL-44 reverse pedal. Do you think the high pitch artifacts could be EQd out without ruining the effect?
@@FredFredrickson-bip-bang if you reaaally want to, probably yes. in a studio environment it might be a one trick pony that works with some surgery. but then again, the reverse effect isnt that great. In a live situation without a designated sound guy I imagine it to be pretty annoying.
