One thing I did notice in the very short go I had (5 minutes). I did like the way the sweet spot was extended into the lower outside corner when I was looping, less shots where you lose power because you drifted too near the edge.
Great review! Nice point on potentially reading the opponent's spin better on serves by focusing on the edges of the racket.
That really struck me when I heard. Never thought about that. The Cybershape, for the few points it might add to _my_ game, might be getting subtracted when an upper-tier player is reading my serves.
Takeaway: *Cybernull* shape. I'm out.
Great review! Been waiting to hear more about this blade for awhile. Stiga’s marketing only ever highlighted the blades shape and increased sweetspot - it never mentioned it’s composition or feeling.
Great review. You’re the first one talking about the sound too!
Interesting and excellent review. I was thinking of trying it but I'm happy with the Carbonado 90 and play close to the table a lot as well as mid-distance. Seems like making your serves easier to read for the opponent is not a positve either.
I’m thinking about getting one just because of the drastic shape difference but I’m not a pro so it may not make a huge difference.
I'm really struck by the fact that only _one_ comment here noted the reviewer's remarks on serve readability.
The Cybershape is telling higher-tier, seasoned, players what your serves are: he can see the points and edges of the racquet, as opposed to the smooth round edges of a regular racquet.
If my racquet is telegraphing all my service motions to a canny opponent, I'm sticking with round blades. I don't want to lose more points than I (supposedly) gain with this invention.
Truls serves work insanely good.
Nice club played there couple time it would be great if you could review LYJ Super ZLC vs Viscaria ALC vs Fan Zhendong ALC
The super ZLC is stiffer and faster. Less control and less dwell time. The Viscaria and Fan Zhendong ALC are literally the same blade with different handles. Same wood, same composition, same size and weight. Thanks for coming to our club!
Which rubber are you using for forehand
Can you plz do a review on the Ovtcharov Innerforce ALC I think it would be an interesting blade to go over?
I’ll try.
That shot at 9:33 really clean
Thanks Khaleel for the review!
A friend got one a few months ago...its light and feels good. Control and speed are great but apart from the bigger sweet spot it seems like a curved blade. Im average so perhaps didnt pick up much else.
I’ve been playing since I was in 5th grade. We had a table in our living room. My first quality non sandpaper paddle was a handmade Swedish Stiga Stellan Bengtsson model. It cost $9.95 in 1970, three times the cost of any other paddle in the store. After 52 years and dozens of paddles later including custom made ones, I still believe that that paddle is the best one I’ve ever played with. I’m sure many of the paddles I used since that old Stiga wore out were as good or better, but for me I had never found that perfect replacement in terms of feel. I don’t know if it is the rubber, the paddle design, changes in ball, but logically I do not believe it is the paddle. I don’t think that new Cybershape is a radical improvement over other designs. It’s easy to move the sweet spot to a higher position on face as they’ve done by taking more material off the bottom and sides and moving it to the top. I think $245 is somewhat of a rip.
I do not see it as a radical design that will change paddle design like the Prince oversized tennis racket did for tennis. I think there are too many other factors that affect feel and performance for ping pong. Everyone wants to find a product that will enhance their performance even if it is psychological; I.e. Dumbo’s magic feather. Take a cheap defensive oversized paddle and overlay a Cyberspace on it and trim it to match. See how it plays.
Thanks for your reply. I agree that people spend way too much money on equipment and don’t develop their game enough. We will be coming out with a video soon on how professionals choose their equipment. The old STIGA blades were phenomenal in the 38mm ball days. They are too dated now for the new ball. They don’t have enough speed. I think just about any ALC type blade is good for most players. You don’t need to break the bank. I always tell people it’s not the gun it’s the cowboy, but at the same time, you don’t want to bring a knife to a gun fight.
true ! but hey life is about having fun.....if you have money just buy it ! grea review btw
I live in Sweden and have meet Stellan Bengtsson as a youngster.
Watched all the great ones play like Mikael appelgren, j-o Waldner, Jörgen Persson, gatiene and one of my favorit players andrejz grubba, to bad he died in 2005. I also got my first j-pen racket from a Japanese player which i forgot the name off.
I've also had that Stellan Bengtsson racket and loved it very much. So I agree with you that was and awsome racket.
Now days there are a million rubbers and rackets to choose from. Miss the good old days when one played with Mark V and was happy with that 😂
@@Justmakesomenoiz haha i've used mar v long time a go !! classic one....but i just ordered cybershape pen holder greetings from indonesia
Sadly I moved back to the Germany from DC, was there in my youth over at Montgomery County. Dang I want one of those shirts badly. Prior to moving to the states I was 2 time bavarian champ at the age of 12 but than moved to USA and switched to tennis back in the 80s there wasn't much table tennis in DC. If i ever come back I'll make sure to swing on by. Great Review Keep it up.
Where in Germany? I played for a few years in Germany. Hope we can meet someday. If you are ever in DC, come as our guest!
@@washingtondctabletennis6142 Im in Munich atm where the next EU Championship 2022 is taking place. Still tickets around if you can make it. If I ever visit again I'll be sure to pop in. Love the Logo might copy it and make me a shirt to represent. :D

Hi Khaleel,
Could you please tell me the STIGA DNA H thickness you've used, same as Truls.? Thank you
We always use max, as do almost all professional players. Thanks.
Good review! what is your rating ?
Are u gonna try out the new stiga cybershape wood.. That seems like a nice racket and also much cheaper
I am not sure. I think the only new one I saw is a recreational one not pro.
Should I get the Flare/straight/penhold one? I’m confused since 😢 no one review the penhold one lol. I’m a penholder and can play normal also
The blade is always the same. You choose the handle based on your comfort. Do you prefer to play shakehand or penhold?
Is this something you stuck with, or are you using another blade?
You comment about reading serves easier, I'm thinking as an intermediate it might also be easier to learn to develop serves with different spins, being able to aim for the different corners.
Would you recommend buying the xiom shoes that you use in this video?
Honestly it depends on your feet. If you have foot issues then it’s not the best. It doesn’t have much support or cushion and is pretty basic. But it looks really nice! 😂
Hello Khaleel,
Have you ever used the Cybershape with your DNA rubbers setup in real games? Is there any problem with low and short serve return due to the fact that DNA Platinum is hard bouncy rubber?
I used it in practice games. I didn’t have problems with the short game at all. I think the combination is actually quite good for short game.
@@washingtondctabletennis6142 Thank you.
How did you get your hands on one? I can't find a place to purchase it in America.
We ordered it from Europe in order to give our club members an opportunity to try it out and to do the review for you guys on the channel
I hope you are subscribed..where are you from?
For how long and how often did you use the same rubber (Stiga DNA Platinum - ) before this video?
To really notice the differences between one blade to another is to change only the blade and use the same rubber that you are used to.
I had tried the couple times before but never for long as we are Butterfly sponsored and not a STIGA. However, being that we are professional players we can notice a difference between different rubbers and blades quite easily. We are not hobby players that just play sometimes. Of course in a true one on one comparison experiment do you need independent and dependent variables. This is just a review.
@@washingtondctabletennis6142 Thank you! Keep it up! Nice video
Stiga cybershape carbon vs harimoto ALC-who has better control?
I personally think the Cybershape has more control because it has more dwell time but the Harimoto ALC has a higher throw angle.
Hi Khaleel!
Great review, thank you!
i have question, what kind of racket, rubbels your partner have?
He uses a Timo Boll Spirit and Dynaryz Rubber or Tenergy 05.
What rubbers did you used on stiga? And the other blade? Blade and rubbers? Thx.
We showed everything at the beginning of the video. STIGA DNA H, same as Truls. The other blade is Butterfly Timo Boll Spirit with JOOLA Dynaryz rubber.
I think Trulls Moregard doesn't use H.. uses XH
how does the cybershape compare to the dynasty carbon?
The dynasty carbon is a little softer. Speed is similar. Cybershape is a little lighter but more head heavy and less balanced for my feeling.
Where I can buy in EUA?
Not sure, sorry.
It looks like a stop sign. Must be good for blocking? 😂 I'd be embarrassed to play with that thing. Lol
stiga should offer a new handle - and call it "cyber anatomic" - i'd take it immediately! only anatomic for me, i cannot understand why so many people play with these aaawwful flared handles
Why does this man step his foot on the table? What a poor table tennis manner!
He was stretching his leg. He has an injury. Not poor manner, he is a coach at our club.
just take an angle grinder, any $20 carbon yinhe off (or a used offensive stiga carbon, same $20) et make your own 'cybershape' cutting the edges, $200 for this thing is a total rip off for dumb kids :-) i made my own DIY 'cybershape' in 3 mins and for 20 bucks, LITERALLY
I am going to highly disagree with you on this one. While I think that the price is steep and the blade will not make a difference for 90% of the people that will buy it, it is still a high quality and well produced blade. Even the higher quality Yinhe blades are not nearly as good as Butterfly or STIGA blades. Their quality control is sub par as well. I’ve tested a few of them. Most people won’t tell the difference, but many will.
Yes after using one a few times, its fine but expensive i agree.
