The drive home is the perfect time to reflect on whether the church you visited is the right one for you. I’ve visited churches where you could instantly tell there was no spiritual growth happening. There are also those “churches” that compromise on critical principles and doctrine. It’s essential to discuss with your spouse. I would’ve never found my church, if I just stayed at a stale church, I visited once.
My dad’s church has had movies every Sunday for the past two months. With useless Olsteen-like mini-sermons during the movie. And it’s practically a mega church. It sells donuts and occasional food truck stuff. I, however go to a Lutheran church. Its sermons guide you straight and make you slightly more active in your faith. I know that God doesn’t help us “do great things” as one movie-church mini-theater sermon said, but rather GOD is the “great thing” and we must work under any circumstances in faith and joy for Him.
Darn straight. Most churches would fail an honest review imho. How many took a hard stance against kids getting experimental jean therapy? How many took a hard stance against child msking? How many spoke out against the vatican 2020 nativity display? Drg kween story hour? Every church that fails to carry the cross should fall. How conceited is this man that he thinks his preaching is beyond rebuke?
The problem is not that a method of review exists. The problem is that there are so many theologically poor churches that need reviews....majority of churches, the smaller ones, especially, have turned into mini cults lately.
Do as I say, not as I do. They also said that gathering of believers online is not acceptable either, yet my faith grew by leaps and bounds through the pandemic. I found some wonderful preachers/teachers like Dr. Michael Heiser, Chuck Missler, Dr. John Barnett (DTBM YT channel), etc. I finally found a church in my area, but they seem sheepish when sharing the Gospel (1 Cor. 15:1-4), or they do not share it at all. An interesting thought on online Bible studies and services. What are people going to do to "not forsake the gathering" when Christians are not allowed to attend churches anymore? How will these folks share the Gospel outside of their church buildings during those times. The internet is an amazing way to share the Gospel, but I love doing it in person better. I love this channel, but I don't wholeheartedly agree with all of them as I'm not a Calvinist.
Hmmm...what if a review tells people that a church is not preaching the Bible, the Gospel (1 Cor. 15:1-4), and more worried about their member's tithing (a 10% tithe is not at all required), etc. I'd like to hear that, as well as if the pastor is an arrogant person.
