    Jake several questions please. Why Easton x10 arrows? Are they that perfect? Also, what is the advantage of fletch tape versus question glue? Thank you

    • @mikeford963
      @mikeford963 7 місяців тому

      I know I'm nit Jake, but seeing as it's been a year... Easton X10's are guaranteed to be straight within .0015", every shaft. Also, they are grouped by bare shaft weight and there will only be a .5 grain difference within the dozen ordered. Also, they are a tapered shaft, which helps with recovery, especially out of a recurve. As to fletch tape, vs traditional methods, could be any number of reasons for that. Ease of use and faster prep are a couple that come to mind.

    Just imported 3 dozen Pandarus Elite CA-320. Chinese version of the X10. Was considering buying Easton but the shipping costs, 20% import duty into the UK and, 20% VAT just put them at a silly price. Chinese shoot and group well and with free shipping and zero import duty (still have to pay VAT) represent good value. UK and US really do need to sort these trade tarrifs out

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  Рік тому +4

      It’s more of the unfair trade practices and subsidizing of exports on Chinese goods. It’s impossible to complete on a fair playing field. Fair wages and proper working conditions won’t be found in the places we get things for dirt cheap.
      Tough place as the consumer for sure.

      @@JakeKaminskiArchery I've just imported a new grip from the US. By the time it arrives here it's going to cost me 5 times the original value. I could have bought it from Europe which at its closest point is 22 miles from the UK. That would have cost me 8 times the original value. Welcome to the UK who voted to leave the world's largest trading block. Our tax receipts as a result of that vote are down £400 billion. The world is mad

    THANK YOU! that was excellent content. Loved the cat in the box trick
    Do you align your nocks prior to marking them in the jig? or are the x 10's consistent enough that you dont need to?

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  Рік тому +9

      The last time I spine checked x10s the average arrow was +/-.0015” of spine after sorting through 3 dozen of them prior to Rio. I did align them to a consistent spine but for your average Joe (myself included at this point) it’s unnecessary imho and more time/money can be spent wisely elsewhere for performance.

    Wow I got click-baited; commentary totally starts at 5:57. I do wonder when different choices matter like X19 arrows with hand aligned vanes vs a cheaper arrow with more precise vane application (among many other number of tweakable variables). Probably unpopular with the crowd here but I admit I wished this wasn't so edited. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi, is x10 spine 600 same as lets say ACE spine 600? (There is no 600 spine for ACE, closest one is 620, but is it the same or there is a difference between those 2 arrows)?

    • @dick-gs9tb
      @dick-gs9tb Рік тому

      Kind of late to this one, but FWIW, in my experience, X10s tune slightly weaker relative to their nominal spine than ACEs do, meaning the 620 ACE will be very, very close to the 600 X10 in terms of tuning (within one turn of the limb bolts on a 40-ish pound bow).

  • @sachingupta7353
    @sachingupta7353 Рік тому

    Happy new year Jake!
    I wanna also ask that aren't we supposed to put the points first before the pins? Like we've always been advised to do that as it can affect the amount of air that can enter the arrow if we put the point after pin?

  • @bcbike50
    @bcbike50 Рік тому

    I have a set coming in the mail so I have watched this several times now. A question re X-10 did you also Knock tune these? Does Easton do this for you? is it really necessary. I really want as much consistency I can get. I especially like the box trick for your assistant.

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  Рік тому +1

      In my experience unless you are going to a HUGE event and it's very important to you, the X10 is so consistent you do not need to spine align or nock tune the arrows. If you have time and the desire, you can do so but it usually won't produce different results. It's dependent on the person and what they need to feel confident.
