should have it like the moslers were they use air shifter but keep the shifter attached so if you ever loose air shifting you can still drive/shift it

Yeah it'll get corner weighted. I should have done a before for direct comparision, but I'm sure it will have made a decent difference.

Phil instead of moving the pedals make wider pads for the pedals and move the pads to the right then redrill them offset pedal pads would be quicker and easy your only talking about 20 or 30 mm offset. but the car is looking good better with a barra though🤔cheers from down under

The wheels are 17x10 with a 255/40/17 and 17x9 with a 235/40/17. The front and rear wheel wells are completely custom raised as high as I can get them and the front and rear fenders/arches we remade in carbon and are about 40mm wider than the original M3 arches.
So front and rear Fenders/archers are 40mm plus ? Both in carbon ? thanks for your answer.

Looking forward to seeing this rip on track again, what tyre do you prefer between AR1 and R888R?
Overall I prefer the AR1 I think, but that's possibly because they're alot cheaper and sell them ourselves. I haven't done actual back to back with brand new tyres, but I would rate their performance as very similar from what I can tell.
Seems like AR1 are the way to go for track days! What size do you run on the e30?

Cheers. I was heavily involved in the dev on the E90 M3 HSD MonoPro kit on my own car. It's still one of the most fun 'road cars' I've ever driven around the Ring. I still think about getting another one. It was the real end of an era for BMW and the M devision.
@@driftworks Thanks. I did message you for advice before buying mine about gearboxes, and a lci manual came up in budget so bought that one. I ve driven a golf r dsg around the ring and the m3 and wish I would of listened to your advice and got a dct 😆. But I do really enjoy the manual now. Does mean I can keep my drifting ticking over.

I still have burnt into my brain the noise of the bmw on the track from back in the day, pretty sure it was one of the first videos on YT, anything quieter than that is a success.

Hi!! Loving all the content on this build 🔥🔥 one thing that might help; I’m Pretty sure your Aim dash has the ability to do gear numbers without any additional wiring. It’s all done by calculating the engine speed vs road speed according to your specific gear ratios and final drive number etc.
that’s how I’ve done it on my MXS 1.2 anyway. I think it’s called precalcgear under there smart channels section.
Might save you a bunch of wiring.

Thanks man. It needs to be done through the ECU so it can correctly handle blip and cut requests for clutchless up and downshifts. All sorted already 👍
Phil, I’m curious to hear more about your dct story. I’m about to install one in my pikes peak hill climb car and you abandoning your dct setup makes me a bit nervous. Would you advise against anyone making this swap? Also, have you looked at the auto tuning functionality of the htg setup?
I wouldn't advise against it. I just wouldn't choose it myself.
Cutting rear bumper at the back would do a very notable reduction to drag and most likely remove lift from car / with wing add downforce.
I know how keen you are to keeping it OEMish, but sometimes we need to bend for art & science. In my own clownshoe I did cut with minimal diffuser and undermounted wing and change was absolutely huge both in drag and going from big lift to the side of downforce.
It's getting a full diffuser when I get a mo 👍

Loving seeing this come along. I don't know much about sequential boxes. Would be useful to do in my car as the gearbox is going to be the weak link i think for putting the eventual power down. Anyway, question - Can it be shifted without the use of the clutch after engaging 1st or is the build going to require the use of clutched shifts each time?
It will be no clutch up and down if we get the configuration right. At the end of the video we're talking about the strain gauge on the shifter, that will tell the Syvecs ECU when I'm pulling or pushing the lever and it will blip or cut ignition accordingly.

Nice work. Guibo not solid mounted?? You can get them to use 350 Uni. I think Domiworks sells them. Nice plazma table
At this power level I'd rather have the Guibo all day long. It takes quite a bit of shock out of the drivetrain, so stuff lasts a lot longer.

It's all stock E92 M3 sized stuff and stock E92 M3 power. Nothing should slip unless I manage to burn the tiny triple plate clutch out 😄

What differential are you running?
It's a 3.91 E28 210mm with a custom Drexler & E39 M5 rear cover.
Lot of heat around the trans mount with the exhaust being so big so close
I mentioned in the video about the missing heat insulation. It goes between the exhaust and gearbox / mount 👍

Remove the lid on the airbox and seal the brim to the bonnet
Nice idea. Probably too complicated to seal, but I'll give it some thought 👍
@@driftworks It´s only complicated if you completely think it through firsthand, better just start at it and put enough hours and misery into it to make the thought of abandoning the project ridiculous.
It would probably have to be a another "brim" that is fixed and sealed to the bonnet and the mating surface would be between the two brims. Then the mating surface could be designed uncompromised to make the best seal. The next step would be to make a new carbon bonnet with the upper brim moulded into it. The bonnet would only have 2-3 layers of carbon on top of the airbox area for maximum howl. Like running the good sounding airboxes without the hood.
Is that gearbox the lowest point of the chassis?
No, far from it. Everything is pretty much exactly level in terms of chassis rails, exhaust, crossmember, sump (slightly higher) and the gearbox sits a fair bit higher than all of that.

Wrong way around. The DCT sat way lower as it has a huge sump.

May I suggest some heat shielding between the exhaust and guibo? 🫣
Thats the missing heat sheilding I was talking about in the video. It covers the top of the exhaust.
May I suggest a heat shield for the fromt guibo, Exhaust heat will kill that quickly
That's part of the heat shield that's not fitted yet that I mention in the video.
