My older sister turned me on to this band when I was in my teens. She passed away but I think of her every time I hear these talented musicians. Thanks for the great memories boys!
Been a fan since my father used to play their debut around our house in the '80s. I have an excellent file set of two shows recorded at Bunky's in WI, June 25, 1978. The sound and performance are excellent. It really proves what a terrific band these guys were. I'm happy to share with anyone that wants a copy.
I for one would love to listen to the shows. I really love their sound, but none of the people I play it for, don't seem to take to it like I do. Alas!
If anyone knows about music, this is one of the best bands as having excellent musicians. The syncopations of the music is unbelievable. Don't know how to classify this type of music - maybe New Orleans based. Are they still around or old like me and not recording.
I saw them, basically, every weekend from 92-93... My old roommate did sound for them... Such a fun band! Saw them at every venue you can think of in NE!
About 1977 saw them at the Scandinavian Inn near Waterville Valley NH right as there Ist album came out. Great band and still listen to the Greatest Hits album regularly. Great memories of skiing and music
Ah, Michael Dawe. Truly a great band, though I did hear a fart onceupona at Killington, VT. It was the bass player that done did that. Woopsie. Was a tremendously good show. I did meet others who knew in this tree, Bill Bruford for example. Always thought of Dawe as the quintessential ambi. Hope he's doing well. 'Been away too long' is a drummers paradise. MHO is that I have no opinion other than my own.
@@johnfolsomtroy Saw you guys in various places in CT and MA, most memorably at Toad's Place in '79 (I think that was the year, but Dawe was definitely the drummer). PDB concerts were just so much fun. Michael Dawe was a terrific drummer. Hope he is doing well. Hope you guys have a reunion and come down to Charlotte, NC.
@@johncheeseman1781 Yeah it was a good band and you're right Michael was a terrific drummer. He's still around and doing ok. A reunion? Well, anything's possible. Thanks!
@@johnfolsomtroy You're being quite modest. PDB was a great band, particularly a great live band, which is really the true mark (imho). And incredible songs (County Line, Amnesia, Yaicha, etc., etc.). Ah, those were great days for music. Glad to hear M. Dawe is ok. It's hard to find any info on him on the interwebs. Best wishes and I'll keep an eye out for that reunion ;)
Let's get 'em back up for an encore of 'What Can I Say', his best song. Search youtube for a clip of a TeenBeat band named Tony & the Tigers. Personnel: Jon, Tony & Hunt Sales (Soupy's boys/still session musicians) & Burgess Meredith's son.

Drummer is pretty freakin' good!
Can’t get a good look at him, but it might be Ken Buttrey. He played drums for Neil Young on Harvest.
@@jaman878 The drummer is Michael Dawe.
@@johnfolsomtroy Thanks John. I've heard his name before but I can't think where.
East Coast Poco by way of Nawlin's Little Feat. Good stuff.
I dont think theres a funkier bass gtr/drum section ever
Anyone know if this is Michael Dawe on drums?
yep
@@pswivelhead Always wondered where he ended up. All ambidextrous and what not.
Saw them in Oswego NY in the late '70s. Great band!
