3:14 Be sure to check out this time stamp where I had to intervene FSD. Do you think that was the right decision?

That was definitely the right decision. I assume there was no one to the left of you but once it went in the right turn it should have just rerouted

@ Yup, agreed! After I reviewed the footage a few times, I did spot a few vehicles to the left but it was difficult to gauge their distance. So it’s up in the air whether FSD had clearance to merge left or not. You can kind of see the cars in the left side mirror of my car.

Italian Village/Short North here! Catching up from the holiday. 👍 From the performance, it seems I’d still be in the use FSD on road trips, and driving in unfamiliar cities group. Looking forward to its advancements.

Thanks for the video! I'm a 2023 M3 owner in Cleveland.
It's strange that you had the issues you did compared to the CA and NY videos where the car handled such difficult situations so well.
Technically, I think the "road closed" situation was legal. It just said "no outlet", so I think it was legal to go the way the car was trying to go, and it would have had to turn around at some point. Not sure though.

@@benjaminkindle1841 Thanks for your support! Ah good point regarding the road closure signs. I wonder if it interpreted the no outlet as a way forward and not a complete closure, to your point. I’ll have to test out some more road closure situations. How is the 2023 M3 treating you so far?

@@DriveElectricToday We definitely love the car! We haven't gotten FSD yet since the last trial version wasn't in a place where we'd use it regularly. I'm hoping to see another decent-sized update for v3 vehicles before pulling the trigger on that.
I was also a little disappointed with the performance of the basic autopilot (Lane keeping+traffic-aware-cruise-control) in heavy rain. Getting splashed by some semis caused it to reduce its speed well below traffic, and there's no option "dumb" cruise control to fall back to :-( . I'm hoping FSD will be better if we ever jump to that.

Still needs a lot of work. A lot

It definitely does. This was my first city run with V13. I do have to admit though, suburban driving with V13 is nothing like this. It’s way more decisive and safe.

At 3:14 , a human would easily handle the road cones.
But then again, human eyes plus human brain are light years beyond the simple minded FSD driving assistant. Level 2 , and with frequent miss takes.
Today, FSD still cannot read and understand road signs such as ROAD CLOSED or DO NOT ENTER .

Hopefully they incorporate that type of decision making into FSD! It would make autonomy much more reliable and safe.

@@DriveElectricToday 8 years ago, Elon said FSD would drive from Los Angeles to New York, automatically. No human input required. Thats a 43 hour drive.
Today, FSD cannot even drive for 1 hour in a busy big city without human intervention. FSD is just a simple minded Level 2 assistant. Full Autonomy is years away.
