I wore the SPH-4AF with 4949 NVG's. After a 4 hour mission, I was more than ready to take it off. I wish we had the HGU-56 during my time flying the HH60G.

I have a SPH-4. It’s all white except for the visor cover as it is red. I am unable to find any information on why it is colored this way however I know that the army used it as the markings indicate it was U.S. Army property. Any help with Information would help greatly thank you.

How can I use aGentex mil heli helmet without removing electronics for ultralight trike use? Being a heli helmet probably is voice activated??? No PTT needed?? I want to be able to connect to a PTT button and into a hand held transceiver Yaseu FTA 550..... I need a U75 to U174 adapter cable and probably into a low to high convertor.... After L to H conversion do I need a 2 cable plug connection OR a single cable with single plug heli style? Very confusing topic
IDK about its original configuration, but the visor assembly can be changed out. They're made in singe or double lens and the double lens housing/cover comes either plain or with ANVIS mount. I'm sure custom mounts are available, as well.

That's weird cause the HGU-29(white SPh-4) was airforce (and civillian)

The electronics can be swapped out. You'd need to change the cable, speakers, and mic to match your intended application.
5:53 the hell is that helicopter?
It's a Piasecki CH-21 Shawnee.
Can the sph4 carry two visors or is it just the 4B?
kornskydiver I think the 4b is the only one with a dual visor
SPH-3 is a dual visor. I have mine from the 1980's.
The SPH-4B is designed to carry dual visors, but I don’t see it’d be too hard to add the duals to a standard SPH--4.
