    My Grandfathers company captured this magnificent piece of history, I remember him telling me as a kid that the anzio express fired a round the size of a deuce and a half. He passed away many years ago but the stories he told me will continue on. He is also in the main photo for this video hes the guy sitting at the end of the barrel with the Thompson sub in his hand

      Apparently, Japan setup defense guns in Guam that literally came off a ship, but I think some of the German rail guns were bigger than any ship guns. I would imagine some were dual purpose, tho, it would seem more efficient.

      The enemy. 😁 Before the age of missiles and bombers, the game was to out-range your enemy's artillery. Germany didn't have the fuel or resources to build massive bombers, and that kind of warfare was even controversial at the time because it basically was only good against unarmed civilians. A flak cannon is unlikely to stop a giant arty shell, however.

      Those pictures appear to be of a few different guns. The museum piece appears to be smaller, which makes sense. If you capture more than one rail gun, if you preserve any, it'll probably be the one easiest to move.

    How can I use aGentex mil heli helmet without removing electronics for ultralight trike use? Being a heli helmet probably is voice activated??? No PTT needed?? I want to be able to connect to a PTT button and into a hand held transceiver Yaseu FTA 550..... I need a U75 to U174 adapter cable and probably into a low to high convertor.... After L to H conversion do I need a 2 cable plug connection OR a single cable with single plug heli style? Very confusing topic

    • @spaight711

      The electronics can be swapped out. You'd need to change the cable, speakers, and mic to match your intended application.

      @uweyaa; You mean the know how of conducting a two front war against Industrial giants? Russian winters starve and freeze Armies for 1,000 years. General Kalishnikov invented the AK-47 2 years after the War. After seeing Russians slaughtered by the German MG-42. I resent that rifle, since so many American Nam Vets were wounded or killed by it. As well as today. The goto gun of Terrorists. At war since 1979, with Iran, Hezbollah, etc.

      The SPH-4B is designed to carry dual visors, but I don’t see it’d be too hard to add the duals to a standard SPH--4.

    • @spaight711
      @spaight711 3 роки тому

      IDK about its original configuration, but the visor assembly can be changed out. They're made in singe or double lens and the double lens housing/cover comes either plain or with ANVIS mount. I'm sure custom mounts are available, as well.

      I used to work there in the 80's and early 90's. She sat on the railroad tracks off to the side of the Ordnance Museum. The guy who took care of the museum pieces was named Atwater I think. They had quite a lot of very cool equipment. I remember a Tiger that used to fire up still. They had an Atomic Cannon, A V-1 and a V-2, a bunch of German armor with holes in them where rounds had gone in. One of Hitler's staff cars was inside. I know they moved alot of that stuff out to different places. Tank row was the nickname for the entrance. The median was lined with tanks from the past as you entered. I remember hearing stories of accidents when people ran into the median and hit a big damn tank. LOL. I think they are all gone now too. They redid the entrance. I haven't been there in years, but it was really cool to see. The railway gun was elevated when it was there, but it appears to have been moved too. Sad.
